This was our second visit to Hurghada, having previously stayed in Makadi Bay in 2022. One thing that you can guarantee with Egypt in March is the weather, always warm and sunny with a gentle breeze, hotels are the only variable. Last time we stayed at the Serenity which was excellent though the bay is quite exposed which meant quite a strong wind which at times was very cooling, both during the day and at night. This time we looked for something more sheltered and the enclosed bay/beach at the Desert Rose appealed. To summarise the whole 9 night holiday was excellent, we were upgraded to a superior room (block 1000) which included free wifi which was not inly available in the room, but all throughout the resort which was great for by the pool and at the beach. A lot of Egyptian holidays limit coverage to rooms and the main lobby area so this was a huge bonus. Rooms were large and adequate, the only down side being the lack of double beds, resulting in the usual practice of sliding the singles together, always a tricky manoeuvre for the person on the gap! Beds were comfy and the showers were hot with a good flow! Outside there are three pools, all with plenty of sun loungers and kept immaculately clean at all times. Towels are available and are large, soft and clean. Beach area is amazing, soft sand, gently shelving water which can be accessed without the need for beach shoes. Lots of activities also with paddleboards and windsurfing (extra charge) and pedaloes and canoes! Only issue with the beach is the number hotel staff wanting to sell massage/pedicure treatments etc but these reduce after the first few days and also with the addition to an orange tag tied to your unbrella (obtained from lifeguards), but even then they try but a strong smile and a "no thanks" sends them on their way. Staff are all super pleasant and helpful and seem genuine at all times. If you offer a small tip early on this will usually to ensure future special treatment, especially in the restaurants. Food - this is the only area which slightly let the place down. As with most all inclusive resorts the food on offer is plentiful but at times a little lacking in flavour. There is the usual pasta station, cooked meats, cheese, desserts and a variation of BBQ meats outside which kept us fed and happy but a little bored. Lunchtimes there is a great snack bar offering burgers etc which were excellent! Overall this is a GREAT place and we are already looking at coming back in 2025! Nothing to dislike about the place at all - please take our recommendation and choose here!

My family and I have just had a 10 day holiday at the Desert Rose Resort hotel and I can’t fault the hotel and the staff that work there. Our room was beautiful and was cleaned on a daily basis to a high standard. The pool areas were clean and you could always find a sunbed. My family really enjoyed the waterpark with the slides and my young grandchildren were so safe in the heated pool giving their parents time to relax. Entertainment was the best I have seen at a hotel in a long time. The staff were always courteous and made us feel so welcome. The Palm restaurant was amazing for my young grandchildren as they had a child’s section where the children could serve themselves they loved this. We also arranged nights at the other restaurants at the hotel the Ranchero (Mexican) the Italian and at El Defino on the beach the food was amazing at all of the restaurants no one could say there wasn’t enough choice. We just had an amazing time and will definitely be going back. I highly recommend this hotel for all ages.

Where do I start? Checking in was simple and easy. The staff was super friendly. A special shout out to Mohammed Ibrahem (our security guard for our block) and Saad Reda (Food and beverages). We saw these two gents every day and multiple times a day, always with a smile on their faces and always laughing and joking. The pools were great (the first two were cold but so lovely in 28 degrees of heat. When you get in the pool, give it 2 mins to get used to the cold. The water park was so much fun. Our room was perfect; it had wifi & a lovely pool view (room 1143). Room service was great, and there was a new towel design every day. The food was great; breakfast was the same every day but lunch and dinner changed, which gave us a good variety. The club soda bar was great staff were super and drinks were perfect. The only downside was that at points, the wifi keeps dropping, and you have to keep toggling it on and off constantly and the Italian restaurant was a big let down, I would avoid that restaurant but defo try the seafood restaurant which was beautiful.

Great clean spacious hotel. Rooms were clean, and towels changed everyday. We stayed in room 1233 which we were informed were newly renovated. The food was fresh, plentiful, varied and well presented. The Al a carte restaurants were all very nice but The Fattoosh was my favourite, with breads made freshly in an oven in front of us, go hungry though as there was so much food we were unable to eat it all. The entertainment was very good as was the day time activities. All in all a great winter getaway. The staff were more than accommodating and went above and beyond to ensure we were happy. I would certainly return. Big shout out to Hanny who supplied us with endless cocktails and Hashim and Abdullah from the restaurant.

One of the best hotels we had a fabulous time, great food and drink. We spent most of our time down at the beach where Ahmed and Mohamed helped us with our sun loungers every morning. The staff in the Palms restaurant made our English tea to perfection and our cleaner in the room who helped us with our television/ air conditioning and made sure we had milk for our cup of tea in the morning. The staff are so helpful a real credit to the hotel. Will definitely return.

excellent hotel for families and couples , very professional staff and welcoming. highly valued this place. excellent food , drinks, rooms and staff! no hassling and helpful. a big thank you for a great stay! also excellent for solo single women who want a warm calm stay. thank you so much! if you using taxis use uber but don’t agree to them cancelling jobs. just let them cancel it else if you cancel it will pay them, so don’t make the mistake. also indrive app is good for taxis and safe, pay in cash egp only. don’t flag taxis down they will hustle and rip you off. there’s alot of hustle on the streets , always get menu prices and check your bills. if your in a resort you are safe, they look after you very well.

Starting with the positives, the grounds are beautiful+ plenty to do here activity wise if you are that way inclined or have children. Staff are almost all very friendly and make the extra effort where they can. We were always able to get a sunbed (we mainly stayed around the quiet pool) but could easily have found one at the beach or olympic pool. Plenty of bars for whichever mood your in + cocktails are usually made well. Cleaner was great, always felt like the room was brand new when we walked in + appreciated the towel art. Now the negatives.. The room we were put in as a couple was a conjoined family room meaning we could hear everything next door. This was a huge problem for us as one night we were kept up until midnight by an Italian man screaming down his phone (reception left no way to contact them?) and felt void of privacy. We were in block 1000 and whilst the rooms had been renovated (just paint as far as we could tell?) The bathrooms had not and the tiles were chipping all over.. didn't feel very 5*. Food was mostly bland & personally we struggled to find much to our liking but the snack bar always has fresh pizza + burgers at lunch so that helped. Pools are clean and well maintained but they definitely need to look into heating the quiet pool over winter as this is by far the nicest one but absolutely freezing! 2 cold pools out of 3 meant that the activity pool was extremely busy and not relaxing so we avoided. All in all it's a nice hotel but depends how bothered you are about getting a genuine 5 star. We got a good deal so overlooked a lot of the negatives but wouldn't stay again unless it was a great deal.

found a gem of a hotel, everything there for you, and for the kids, rooms are getting refurbed at this moment, but was never a problem, from the room cleaners -waiters-pool man nothing seemed to much trouble, food was a good standard and plenty of it and steaming hot, nothing we could fault, this is far the best hotel we have been in from sharm to hurghada only problem we came across was the spirits the vodka tasted like petrol, you can upgrade at £25 a night for premium drinks but all-in-all a great hotel and the staff are a credit to the hotel , plus security was everywhere so felt safe, they have 5 al-la-carte restaurants 3 are free 2 you have to pay for weather was good in the day but bloody freezing of a night so take a heavy top entertainment was great the shows were brilliant.

Absolutely amazing hotel, the staff couldn't do enough for you.. Super friendly & helpful.. The hotel itself was lovely... clean, well kept gardens & there was never a time you couldn't find something you liked to eat in the buffet restaurant let alone a choice of all the Al a carte restaurants too.. The only downside for us was the enormous amount of sales people for the 3rd party activities (trips, massages etc etc) constantly around the pool trying to sell, maybe they should be restricted.. And although there were 3 pools, only one was heated which made it very busy, whilst the other 2 pools were too cold to go in this early in the year so were very quiet/empty.. Maybe heating the pool with the swim up bar also would have been an idea.. Otherwise can not fault anything else about this hotel, would highly recommend & return again..
