The Chedi El Gouna is lauded for its attentive service and prime location, offering guests easy access to the downtown area, beaches, and a private setting perfect for both relaxation and activities. While the atmosphere is enchanting, some rooms may lack a cozy touch. Guests enjoy modern rooms with stunning views, but suggest improvements for Wi-Fi and room amenities. Opinions on value are divided due to dining experiences and costs. The hotel's cleanliness and luxurious amenities, including a serene spa, are highly commended.

From the minute we arrived @ the Chedi, the staff made sure all our wishes were met, or they exceeded them. From housekeeping to reception, from serving us at breakfast (Damian!!) to the instructor at the gym, the lifeguards at the beach and the super friendly ladies at the spa- everybody made us feel welcome, valued and respected.

The facilities are simply grand. The Chedi offers a lot of space, all areas are surrounded by beautifully kept gardens and a pristine beach to top it off. Also for people with disabilities, The Chedi thought of it all.

Our room (Garden Suite) offered a lot of space, very comfy beds, pillows & blankets, all amenities one could possibly ask for, silent aircon, a rainshower suitable for very tall people (yay!), a cosy terrace and even some very nicely crafted boardgames (chess/backgammon).

The food is something to mention separetely: It is so good! The breakfast buffet makes your mouth water- not only because everything is of high quality or because the choices seem to be never ending, but also because the food is presented beautifully. Forget about the fully crammed plates with meat or cheese that make one wonder how long they’ve been waiting to be eaten, The Chedi keeps their portions small and makes sure everything is constantly restocked with fresh products. Fantastic.

The restaurants on site offer a wide selection of food: From European cuisine to Asian to Egyptian; you will surely find something to your hearts delight. The food & beverages manager will find you every night to inquire about your day and to ensure all your wishes were met.
Definitely try the ‘Nihon’ restaurant, this is truly fine Asian dining in a small and exclusive setting (don’t forget to make a reservation).

Definitely looking forward to coming back here!

The Chedi El Gouna offers guests coming to El Gouna a holistic and relaxing experience. Welcome drinks are offered upon arrival (to choose from alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and golf buggies used to transfer the guests to the rooms. The rooms are well equipped with two sinks what we really appreciated and well chosen amenity kits and shower gel etc. However, the rooms seemed a bit older/used even though the hotel was only nearly 1 year old with some improvement potential. Nevertheless, the Garden Rooms had a nice small terrace with sea view, which made it comfortable to watch the sunrise and chill in the evening.
The hotel features 3 restaurants, which seems enough for the size of the hotel, offering different meals and cuisine (2 restaurants for dinner and 1 at the pool The Beach House). The food was very good and the degustation menu changed every evening for the guests having Half-Board, otherwise another menu for guests paying the food was available as well. The breakfast buffet offered enough variety and the staff in the kitchen was very helpful and even preparing meals upon guests wishes, which was really amazing and attentive.
The hotel facilities were very clean, a gym with new TechnoGym equipment was in place. It was not that big but enough to do some sessions during holidays. Infused water was also provided in the gym à discretion. The SPA is nicely decorated and held small, but the treatments were very good and the staff very nice.
The hotel has 3 pools in total, which were very clean and did not have any typical pool smell making it very nice to just unwind and relax. The staff at the pool was very helpful and always knew what the guests were looking for. They helped in any way they could, they knew what favorite drinks we had and paid attention to the detail. Towels were always made ready for us, we didn't have to do anything but to relax, we appreciated this service a lot and have never experienced it in that way before.
So, all in all we had an excellent experience at The Chedi El Gouna. There is some improvement potential since the hotel was established only nearly 1 year ago. Nevertheless, we appreciated the most the excellent service from the staff (Ibrahim and Hedra from the pool, Engy, Mohamed and the kitchen chief from the restaurant, Ali from the cleaning team etc., just to same some of them) but also from the leadership team (Hotel Manager P. Uecker was very open for feedback, critics and improvement suggestions). Perfect stay!

We enjoyed a four night stay at the Chedi El Gouna just before Easter when the hotel was fairly full. The hotel is a member of the Leading Hotels of the World and the standards were accordingly high. The guests were mostly Swiss and German with some French & British. The breakfasts and dinners were buffet style and the food was varied, fresh, delicious and healthy but to be fair not gourmet. Thai / Chinese / Japanese food was available a la carte for dinner in Nihon and we had an enjoyable evening meal there.

The three pools (family, adult, child) were great with plenty of shade but the gritty beach was a bit disappointing to be honest. The water is very shallow (less than 50cm deep), lagoon style until it reaches the open sea 200m away where low-lying rocks and some coral provide a breakwater. One can reach the open sea via a nearby long wooden pier. Good snorkelling is to be had from the end of that pier.

The staff were uniformly excellent - Mohammed & Heba in the sizeable gym equipped with the latest Technogym equipment were so friendly and welcoming and provided instruction and encouragement in equal measure. Hedra in the Beach House was helpful and responsive to our needs and made our lunches a real pleasure. And lastly our room “boy” Amir not only cleaned to a high standard but also entertained us with his towel creations placed on the bed each day. All went above and beyond, were really interested in their guests and tried and succeeded in raising the standards in the hotel for which we are very grateful; so thank you!

I usually don’t write reviews, though due to the terrible experience I decided to warn any future guests.
My review might seem harsh but its based on the high standard set and expected of a The Chedi Hotel.
The Beach Front Room is terribly designed. It barely fits 1 suitcase, so if you travel as a couple with more than one, you will struggle to even place the second one. Even after unpacking everything, you barely have space for your clothes in a terrible designed cupboard. Housekeeping (which was excellent) even struggled to fit our shoes
Privacy is non existent, so prepare to either have the blinds closed the whole time (which beats the purpose of a beach front) or get used to beeing seen by all guests.
The beach has sand but to enter the water for swimming, you have to pass by many big stones which makes the experience uncomfortable (I really dislike the fact that the pictures are photoshoped to hide this detail)
The wifi is slow (by far the slowest we have had in Egypt) and disconnects all the time, so if you are looking for a stable internet connection you are sadly doomed.
Food wise so-so, ultimately way below espectations of The Chedi Group.
For being a “new” Hotel, the room and infrastructure feel and look at least 2-3 years old.
The Sauna and Steamroom found at the gym are tiny and have no privacy making them
impossible to enjoy.
The Spa is nice though definitely not as nice as on the pictures ( there is sadly no place to leave your clothes during the massage, so you should definitely bring a big bag with you). The service (especially the explanation of the services offered) and specifically the massage are sadly so-so. If you don’t micromanage everything it will be difficult to receive what you expect.
The so called smart digital system is not user friendly, and sadly no advice or tips where given during check in.
The Feedback I tried giving felt like it was falling on death ears.
How can this Hotel carry the The Chedi Name remains one of the many mysteries of Egypt!

The Chedi in El Gouna is so fantastic!! We wanted a boutique hotel experience that was intimate- not a giant uber resort. The Chedi was exactly what we wanted. The staff and service was impeccable, better than any we’ve had in Europe and U.S. specifically, Omar, who serviced our room each day was so friendly and had incredible attention to detail, very thoughtful with our items, and always left a beautiful towel creature on our bed. The gym was first rate with perfectly maintained and clean Technogym equipment- some I’d never seen before. There is a personal trainer on site who will assist with anything you need. Heba in particular was very knowledgeable and helpful, even for someone like myself who lifts weights often. The beach staff were very attentive, helping you move chairs and place towels and take orders. Ismail was wonderful by the pool. The protected cove was an ideal swimming place with vistas onto the Red Sea. Highly highly recommended!

We were celebrating a family anniversary birthday in Egypt and the last part of our trip was a stay at the Chedi to get pampered and relax after several days of sightseeing. The arrival and checkin were great. Welcome cocktails, cold towels that were needed after a 5 hour drive, and our spirits were high. My room was upgraded to a seaview penthouse suite and the moment I arrived and saw the views from there I was happy despite the 30 mph winds that were rattling the windows and tossing the pillows of the outdoor balcony seating area around. A beautiful platter with sweets was there to welcome me and overall a beautiful room with marble bathroom and comfy bed.

Then the messages from my family started coming and they were not happy. The garden suite was nice and big but had no views. The junior garden suite was nice and had a patio but no chairs. The sea view room was exposed and had no space to open two suitcases. Their disappointment was amplified by the howling winds that made the beach inaccessible.

We had a pleasant late lunch at the Beach house with friendly service and great fish and chips and fried calamari. After relaxing we had looked at the restaurant menu and decided on some light snacks for dinner. After we arrived we were told it only served buffet dinner!! This isn’t mentioned anywhere… even in the app. So we had no option but to bundle up and go upstairs to get some a la carte light snacks in the howling winds of Nihon that only has outdoor space. This was my biggest disappointment. Either buffet or exposed to elements is not what I expected.

The rest of the stay was progressively better as the weather improved gradually. Breakfast daily was wonderful and plentiful. We had a buffet dinner twice during our stay (when we were super hungry) and the food was fresh and varied between nights. The moussaka and the fish night was the best. Egyptian wine was also quite good.

The staff was friendly and were happy to help out. Amr in housekeeping was creative with the towel sculptures. I wish I remembered all their names but the pool mojitos and breakfast/dinner servers were also super helpful and creative.

Different experiences for different members of our group to start but overall a positive experience that had room for improvement to be a truly five star experience.

Great place to relax and enjoy your quite time. Great food and service. Front desk (Mina) was very helpful and cooperative. House keeping (Ismaeel) did great job with cleaning our room and assistance with any of our needs. Even though our room is far from the pool/beach, the hotel made it easy for us to communicate and transport us to other facilities inside the hotel as quickly as possible.

Devotees of the Chedi brand must be delighted to see they have a new(ish) addition to the brand portfolio in Egypt and El Gouna is the perfect location for their Egyptian hotel. The staff here are especially wonderful from Engi to welcome you at breakfast to Mohamed and Ali who cleaned our rooms (superior sea view - very nice) and Ismail and the pool team who catered to our every whim at the pool. A teeny weeny small comment would be the lack of restaurant facilities which at the time of writing are limited to the very lovely poolside Breeze and a Japanese/Sushi/Asian restaurant above the general restaurant used for breakfast and evenings. However, you are just a tuk tuk (Tuksi) away at all times from 100's of gourmet eateries and bars in other hotels as well as in the wonderful Marina (best burgers ever at Garage Restaurant and we are not not not burger kinda folk!!) to Zia Amelia and the world's best (in my opinion) Quattro Formaggio pizza - more gourmet options of course available in this delightful restaurant situated in Downtown. The resort and the hotels are for quiet minded visitors - if champion style drinking is your thing it's ceratinly not the place for you. Also, I'll give a shout out to the small but perfectly formed Hurghada museum who are offering up a 'taster' menu of Egyptian artifacts from the (presumably old) Cairo museum. We found it worth the small 'faff' to get to it.

My friend and I stayed at The Chedi for 5 nights, this was our first time in this part of Egypt. The location is wonderful and the rooms are well decorated and very well maintained. We ate at both the buffet and sushi restaurants. The sushi was especially good, so much so that we went back for a second night!

All round the service was great, we especially loved our waiter Demian who made us feel really at home and was greatly attentive at breakfast and dinner. We also tried local Egyptian wine which was delicious.

The pool and spa are fabulous, we had the chance to spend days at other resorts so had some comparison and can say that the Chedi's facilities were beautiful. We both had a massage and we chose to have this in a 'couples' room with a jacuzzi (despite us just being friends) this was a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend.

There is an app that I believe makes the whole process of staying/understanding the resort easier however we didn't get much info on this, I wish we had because I think it had more info on the resort and activities available etc. Our other only point was that there was understandably a language barrier with a few of the staff at the bars so ordering cocktails was a little tricky!

All round we had a wonderful time, I would strongly suggest staying here as family, friends or couples. We got to see different rooms, we had a sea view but the garden view rooms were as gorgeous and even bigger in size, if we were to go back we'd probably actually pick the garden view room!

The whole resort is easily accessible and everything is done to a very high standard, big shout out to the whole team who made our time so great!

This is a beautiful, premium beach resort that caters to those wishing to have a relaxing, healthy holiday. The food is impeccable, the staff is incredibly friendly, and the location is (literally) paradise. Also in early September, it was only about 40% capacity which was nice, even if quite warm during the day!

Spend time sunning yourself next to their 2 main pools or their private bay right on the Red Sea, whilst their staff bring you as many or as few drinks you need right to your lounger (shout out Mostafa!) - whilst the other team help with towels or angling the sun umbrellas to your liking.

The food is excellent. Healthy, fresh, varied, and catering to all dietary preferences. They have a lovely japanese restaurant, but for is the main restaurant was the star of the show. The breakfast offers a rich selection of foods, but my personal daily highlight was the foul (Egyptian beans) expertly prepared by chef Mahmoud, who also made incredible scrambled eggs. They waiting staff remembered names, meal and coffee preferences, and honestly were very funny and charismatic. We have to shout out Ahmed here, who became "our guy"... A total gentleman. Also Abdul, who worked closely with him, who was lovely and reliable.

The rooms are spacious, contemporary, bright, with incredible views, and with beautiful balconies/terraces. Cleaned daily (by wonderful staff) and replenished with bottled water.

Overall a highly recommended stay. We changed rooms without hassle when we asked to, our spa experience was deeply relaxing, our workout at the hotel gym was made more rewarding with help from their trainer Heba, and our beachfront view every morning was like something out of a brochure.

Already thinking about our trip back. Thank you The Chedi! 🙏
