Casa de Isabella pays homage to the charm and history of Santa Marta's colonial era while ushering in a future rich in culture and beauty. Founded in 1525, Santa Marta is Colombia's oldest city. Its natural port provided a refuge from long journeys on Spanish galleons, and its position on the north coast allowed explorers to use it as a base camp for trips to the interior. Casa de Isabella sits in the Centro Historico, the Old City of Santa Marta. This area, first developed after the Manzanares river receded in 1850, holds buildings that reflect traditional Mudejar architecture. The building's original owners inhabited the house for four generations and contributed significantly to the city's growth in the 19th and 20th centuries. In renovating the hotel for the modern era, we consistently chose classic style, maintaining the original integrity of the building and its surrounding neighborhood. Our guests feel the simplicity of Santa Marta's natural charm while enjoying modern comforts. From the greenery of the courtyard to the intimacy of a personal rooftop pool, Casa de Isabella fuses the tranquility of Colombian culture with top quality hotel conveniences. With lighting fast Wi-Fi, complimentary I-Pads, and Apple TV, as well as restored furniture and handmade adornments, this hotel stays anchored in tradition while looking ahead toward a bright future. We have proudly renovated the most beautiful boutique hotel in the Colombian Caribbean.

Booked this place in a emergency situation, and got very lucky with it! Basically i was escaping from the " hotel" i originally booked for my stay in town ( Mirador in Taganga) which proved itself to be a total nightmare at arrival! So booked at La Casa Di Isabella the very same night, the next morning i arrived at the hotel, which its located in the heart of Santa Marta historical centre, two minutes walk from the beach, 5 minutes walk from " el parque de los novios " which its the turistic road where are all the clubs & restaurants, and 5 minutes from " la plaza de Bolivar" where you can find something like 5 banks, very usefull if you need a cash machine.
The decor of the place its amazing, with a early colonial taste, rooms are very comfortable and clean, hot water, tv satellite & wifi perfectly functional. What blowed my minde was the Breakfast, served at the table and cooked to order, home made breads and arepas, amazing pancakes! Stuff very attentive, talkative and professional, always smiling. Receptionist, all very helpful and knows how to dish out all the info you might need, from trasport, to attraction, banks and so on. Basically the place saved my stay in Santa Marta, at a very very reasonable price. Highly recommended. Definately going back when in the area.

We stayed at Casa Isabella the night before we began the Lost City Trek. It was a perfect location because the walk to the Expotur office was less than five minutes. We had breakfast in the hotel that morning and their rooms are very spacious :)

A very neat and nice hotel. We had two separate nights booked, so we had two different rooms, both of which were very nice and well thought through. I liked the art and the vibe of the rooms. The bathrooms were nice and clean. The only bad thing about the bathrooms was the occasional lack of hot water. Sometimes there was normal, nice, hot water and sometimes there was none and all you could get was lukewarm. But then, it's Colombia. Hot water is a bit of a luxury ;)

The breakfasts were nice (we highly recommend pancakes!) and there was no problem when we needed an earlier breakfast. There was also no problems with leaving our luggage with the hotel for multiple days. They are nice and helpful.

The only but and the main reason for the missing star was the staff's lack of knowledge. As I mentioned before they were very helpful with organising things, however they couldn't answer any of our questions/requests for recommendations. We asked about a place to eat, we were told there's a big square with lots of options (truth, but at least one precise restaurant name would be appreciated). We asked about a place to buy/see some art, nobody knew. We asked about a market for tourists (with souvenirs etc) and we were sent to a supermarket...

Generally nice, we'd recommend it, I think the value for money is good, especially with the nice breakfasts :)

The hotel is very well located. You can walk to the marina, malecón, parque de los novios, restaurants and museo del oro. The staff was always attentive and very helpful. The facilities are beautiful and you feel you are in an oasis of calm and relaxation. It has a nice little pool in the second floor. The rooms are a bit dark in the firs floor but very quiet and comfortable.

Loved this hotel! Splurged and stayed in a suite with private rooftop pool. Sat up there many hours during the day and evening. It was covered for when showers passed through. The room was quiet and very clean. The A/C worked well. Plenty of hot water and pressure. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We loved the breakfasts and coffee every day. It was easy to get to via taxi from Berlinas bus. The hotel is very close to many good restaurants, markets and the promenade along the waterfront. Easy walking.

Stayed here after our tour. This place is amazing. We had a suite with a small private pool on the roof. The service was excellent. Breakfast in the morning very good. Spotlessly clean.
The suite was amazing the furniture, the lighting perfect wished we could have stayed longer. It is an absolute oasis in a busy city. The best place we have ever stayed!

We stayed at this lovely hotel in the old town of Santa Marta. The location was perfect, walking distance to restaurants and the plaza. The hotel is beautiful, clean and the staff is very friendly. They speak English and Catherine was particularly helpful.

Friendly and helpful staff, has reasonable breakfast and a small pool. Reasonable Wifi. Can’t ask for much more as was just a short visit on the way to Tyrona Park. Easy location to walk to a number of good cafe’s.

We enjoyed the charm and location of this hotel so much that we came back for a second stay. Very convenient location to walk for dinner but not noisy from the lively neighborhood. Relaxing and great a/c.
Breakfast was filling and fresh. Staff helpful with our endless questions.

Casa de Isabella is a beautiful Hotel in Centro.
It is tastefully decorarated and my room had all kind of amenities one could desire: apple TV, A/c, cealing fan, aromatheraphy, l'occitane products, etc.
It was clean and the bed and linens were top class.
The staff was great, from Ingrid, the manager, to the waitresses.
It is probably the hotel with the best quality/price ratio that I ever visited anywhere.

Hi how far is the hotel from the beach? And how far is the airport?

We flew into Barranquilla airport and that is about two hours away. If you go to the beaches in the Rodadero area it is about 20 minutes. Tayrona is a bit further.

The staff is extremely helpful and I do believe they might have cars to take you that far. We wanted to go to Tayrona and the hotel got us the transportation. It cost us about 80,000 COP (granted Tayrona is muuuch closer than Cartagena). The driver was extremely nice!
