Best value for money on the coast of Colombia!
Best stay we could have wished for!

Our family resided for Christmas at Hotel Beyonda and we could not have asked for a better stay. This place is magical. It is quiet, peaceful and the owners make you feel very welcome and give you the sense of feeling at home. The whole team is very helpful, kind and organize everything for you, however they always give you enough privacy and space.
The food (breakfast, lunch and dinner) tasted every single time amazing, made with so much love and creativity. The drinks were delicious, showers hot and good and the beds very comfortable.

This is a very unique place and I can honestly recommend it to everybody. Definitely coming back on the next trip!

We spent a couple of weeks in Colombia, and the few nights we spent at Beyonda were the best (and I wish we had stayed longer).

Andrew and the rest of the team have a true sense of hospitality. It felt like visiting friends, who are available for you if you feel like hanging out or need tips about the area and what to do, but aren't overbearing if you need some quiet time on your own.

You can (if you ask me, you should) have breakfast and dinner at Beyonda, which will give you the opportunity to meet other guests (if you feel like it) and exchange travel and other stories.

You can go on boat or horse rides, explore the jungle or the surrounding trails, and much more; but the scenery is also so nice that it also feels perfectly right to hang out by the pool or at the bar or in a hammock.

And even though Beyonda feels like it's lost in the middle of the hills, it's the place where we had the best material comfort during our whole stay in Colombia: comfy beds, decent water pressure ...

If we visit Colombia again, we'll definitely stay there (and more than a few days).

It’s hard to describe how amazing this hotel is. As a family we decided this must be the best hotel we’ve been in. Not just in Latin America but also beyond. None of us wanted to leave after the three nights we spend here. Jack, Jane and Theo are incredibly welcoming and have made a treasure of this small hotel in the hills of Santa Marta. Great rooms with amazing views, beautifully decorated! Hot showers (quite uncommon in this part of Colombia). The rooms have no AC but fans and in all honesty, that is exactly what you need here. Just open the windows and listen to the birds waking you up in the morning. Mosquito’s are no issue here. The food is just perfect! Every day a new surprise. Chef Jack was super flexible and cooked vegetarian dishes for us that were not only tasty and healthy but also beautiful! The pool is at perfect temperature, clean and is very nice after a hot day in Tayrona. What else to say? Just: don’t change the place Jane, Jack and Theo! It’s perfect the way it is!

The place - the country is beyonda belief!

The prospect of going back to Colombia was very exciting. I knew I would see great things and had seen pictures. Beautiful as those pictures are I can sincerely say this place is paradise- a sanctuary nestled in the Sierra Nevada's is food for the soul. Add the most hospitable hosts ever...the food oh the food and all the
ingredients for relaxation, retreat and re-connection are perfectly brought
together for an experience like none other I have ever had! Seriously!

Arriving you quickly realize the stunning architecture of old world wood and
old school stonework and every finely placed detail, amenity and thoughtful
touch is there for you! As you ascend the stairs to your totally stunning
room overlooking the Sierra Nevada mountains the warm breeze whispers by you
as your breath is taken away by the vistas and then your room. Passing the
endless places to sit and relax you come to your room and the door swings
open. Hold on folks because the room is a destination in of itself. No
kidding. Straight up best shower ever with the 180 view, wrought iron
windows and mountain backdrop as the sunsets. I like the Princeville in
Kauai but this shower, bathroom and oh the room with the solid wood bed, the
accents of first class standard, waking to the rising sun, the mountains
and the breeze brought rising slow and this experience to a whole new level.
The value is unsurpassed!

But before the deep sleep snuggled in the cool cotton you have the dinner
and "The Grotto" hosted and lovingly entertained by very competent and
proper professionals. A cold beverage, world renowned wine, a shot of the
wonderful selection of whiskeys and spirits all while the sunsets and dinner
simmers in the open kitchen and the savory aromas waft with the breeze. It
all so warms your soul and embraces your senses. Then dinner arrives at the
massive family table as the banter, jokes and international travel stories
from the well traveled guests and hosts chatter around the table and it
never disappoints! The food its preparation, presentation and fine cuisine
made with such loving attention and dedication from all involved. You sit
simply content, relaxed and ready for a great evening to enjoy however you
wish. Go for a swim, sit with a fresh brew with the view, or join the
comradery in the bar perched over the vista with one of the very best views
in the valley. That's when the real entertainment begins as Carlos Andres
regal all with animated theatrics of travel stories and heartwarming
reunions. Listen carefully for the travel gems, the best places for your
next expedition or just ask. Good people know great places.

Hotel Beyonda is a 9.9 for so many reasons! Everyone is welcome and included
or you can just chill and reflect from so many secluded vantage points.
Vantage points that I took every opportunity to find and thoroughly enjoy.
Here are a few of the most precious ones to me.

* The hot morning shower in the king room while you privately watch
the entire valley awaken
* A fresh beverage and pastry on the veranda as the hummingbird's
flutter in the morning sun
* By the big tree perched on the rocks watching the puppies play with
my good friend "Phatty"
* Late afternoon under the beautiful pool cabana as the swallow's
swoop for water and Iggy the Iguana pops by for a swim around three...ish
* Top of the mezzanine at sunset as the entire valley down to Santa
Marta and the ocean is mesmerizingly revealed
* Without a doubt my most favorite spot, in the hammock beside the
kitchen as the food service is prepared, the mouth watering aromas of gourmet
food make you salivate and the banter makes you giggle.

Add together the gorgeous Sierra Nevada's, the warm and welcoming culture,
amazing hosts, great food, plenty to do or not and you have all the elements
for an adventure you will never forget. First Classy place, people and
provisions! Nailed it.

We arrived at the hotel tired from travelling with two young children and were greeted by warm friendly faces. Our luggage was taken, arrival drinks prepared and we were offered whatever we needed.

Our room was enormous and fit the whole family. The bed was huge (comfortably fitted my 6'6" partner and the occasional toddler, plus myself). The bathroom had an open stone shower with a strong and warm flow of water. Just what you need after a journey!

The hosts quickly catch on to your needs and every morning one appeared wherever I was with warm milk for the kids and coffee for myself. Exactly what a mum needs at 6am!

The swimming pool was amazing and I struggled to get my children out of it. We even had a swim with a visiting Iguana!

Dinner each night was like something out of a Michelin star restaurant and I am so happy we ate in every evening.

The hotel organised all of our trips for us, transfers included. When we had trouble with a taxi one day, they were easily intractable by phone and even ready to jump on a motorcycle to come find us.

The wildlife visible from the hotel was one of my favourite parts. Watching Macaws fly free, an iguana pop by and waking to the sound of howler monkeys is something you would struggle to come by elsewhere.

I don't think we once locked our room. There is just simply no need. The place is as safe as you can get, which is especially important given we were travelling with toddlers.

Would I go again? Well I could not get my kids out of there without promising to go back, so yes!

Hotel Beyonda is unlike any other luxurious glamping in nature, as it's an actual hotel, but surrounded by raw nature.
I’ve never seen as many butterflies and hummingbirds in one place as in the gardens surrounding this brand-new boutique hotel. I've booked the king room all for myself and it came with a beautiful big rain shower in the bathroom. Sleeping in this unique stone house with a beautiful view out to Tayrona national park was so replenishing.

I throughly enjoy glamping experiences, but I have never stayed in a hotel that feels like glamping outdoors. You should plan for a few days at this hotel as staying so close to nature with such luxury as a beautifully shaped pool and delicious food with plenty of things to do around will make you not want to leave.

The hosts, Jack, Jean, Theo and Andrew are four kind and helpful friends who will help you arrange any trip you might want to take as well as transport to and from the airport. I went scuba diving, got a massage and had my taxi waiting for me when it was time to go to the airport.

Food was delicious and tailored to whatever you'd feel like eating, when you want to eat. It's home cooked and best enjoyed on one of the pretty round tables near the garden.

Hotel Beyonda is one of those places, that once you've been, you'll know will get really popular and it was great to enjoy it, whilst it was still easy to get a booking in not too far ahead in the calendar.

Highly recommend to other travellers.

We came to Santa Marta on our first stop during our honeymoon and this bed and breakfast did not disappoint! The 4 owners were all so friendly, helpful and offered amazing service to us. Upon arrival, they helped us settle in and showed us around our room. Before dinner the first night, they went over all the options for what we could do while we were in Santa Marta. They told us whatever we wanted, they could make happen depending on what type of experience we were looking for. We are adventurers, so we opted to
1. Spent one day at Tayrona National Park (which they set up the transportation to and from the house and offered advice on what to bring and which entrance to go in)
2. Spent one day at the house relaxing by the pool, walking around the property (eating mangos straight off the trees), and exploring the neighborhood (which we felt very safe)
3. Went to Caoba Reserve,Cacao Farm and a secret waterfall (about a 30 min walk up from Caoba Reserve) transportation was also set up for us with no problems once again.
If you prefer to just relax, the owners are happy to help set up massages and mani-pedis (on the property), bird-watching - really ANYTHING you want!
The rooms are so unique and refreshed daily. There is not a/c, but it is not needed. There is a wonderful breeze and fans for sleeping. The bed and linen was very comfortable. Views from the whole property were amazing!
Location is off grid, which makes it so much easier to relax without the hustle and bustle of so many tourists in downtown Santa Marta!
In addition to the amazing activities and beautifully crafted rooms, they have an incredible pool, bar area and rooftop space to watch amazing sunsets!
They not only serve breakfast, but also lunch and dinner too (all very reasonably priced)!! Before check in, they asked us about any food restrictions. The food was local, authentic and fresh! We did not eat one thing we did not like there! Dinners included foods such and gnocchi, steak and veggies, pork, chicken skewers and I’m sure sooo much more!!!
Just to top off these amazing owners, they also offered great conversation and tips while traveling! They will make your vacation above and beyond expectations! You 100% want to vacation here! I promise!
A huge thank you to Jack, Jean, Theo, Andrew and Lucy! Y’all were amazing hosts!

Much love,
Kevin and Jourdin

Just left this place. Kinda didn’t want to. I can wholeheartedly say that this is one of the most lovely, comfortable and surprising experiences I have had at accommodation in any country. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel extremely welcome and part of the place. The environment is astonishingly beautiful, it is isolated and you feel like you’ve got your own spot in Colombia! The room we had was great for us, had everything we needed and the views all around the property are amazing. Food was creative and delicious every day. We extended our trip by a couple of days as the vibe was great and the location is perfect for nearby tayrona and other activities around Minca. Don’t think about it just book it. Jean, jack, Theo and Andrew have worked really hard to make this something special and it absolutely shows. Thanks so much guys! We shall see you again :)
