We are situated in the Lesoma Valley (corridor between Chobe National Park and Wangi National Park). All year round waterhole in front of lodge that has daily visitations of all game including BIG 4. We are far enough away from villages and towns to enjoy the natural sounds of the bush (lions roaring, hyenas calling and elephants trumpeting). We have 24 hour electrical power, with fans and electric blankets (winter only) plus the whole property is secured by a perimeter electrical fence to keep out dangerous animals. We are 30 minutes from an International Airport (Kasane)and 30 minutes from a Medical Center.

My husband and I stayed at this location on a self planned trip of Southern Africa for three nights in February, 2020. The setting was magnificent; on the edge of a large watering hole for many mammals. Our tent cabin (constructed on an elevated concrete base)was adjacent to the watering hole, as was a refreshing, small pool for guests. This all inclusive setting provided three meals a day, and two safari opportunities each day. The resident safari guide, Pox, was knowledgeable, interesting, and calm. The setting provided ample public spaces for gathering and relaxing. The tour group, Overseas Adventure Travel, a branch of Grand Circle, books small groups here (under 14 per group) which is how I learned of this Lodge ( I have traveled with OAT's on several occasions). We arrived at EVL from Victoria Falls booking transportation via Shearwater Explorer Village (Vic Falls). transportation

Stayed at this property for four nights during our African Safari bucket list trip.
This property is a nice size and the restaurant over looks a watering hole that many animals frequent throughout the day and night. It was great sitting by the fire at night and watching a live wildlife show complete with surround sound.
The pool is small and we had it to ourselves a couple of times. Once I had to share it with an elephant that decided it looked too good not to drink from(so surreal)
The tents are clean and roomy. The nights cooled off and it was a real treat to show up after supper and crawl into a turned down bed that the electric blankets had warmed.
Food was good and the setting was fabulous. Due to the smaller size of the lodge it didn’t has as big of a variety but we always enjoyed the meals and beverages.

The only negative for me with this resort was the 30 min ride to the park for each safari. I preferred the properties that were on reserves, but the watering hole scenery was worth the distance.
One of the safaris we did on this property was on the river and it was my least favourite of all during our stay in Africa. It was very busy and crowded and felt more zooming to me than the other safaris.
The watering hole entertainment would lure me back to this property.

We spent two nights at EVL and had a wonderful time. Our guide, Labo, was brilliant, and helped us find and identify dozens of birds, which was one of our main areas of interest. He was amazingly knowledgeable and fun to spend time with. The game viewing was satisfying as well, though we found Okavango to be exceptional for seeing the widest variety of animals in a condensed time frame (not the fault of EVL). If you adore elephants, EVL will definitely not disappoint!

Amenities like air conditioning and laundry service were especially appreciated, and the host and all of the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. We also appreciated how Florian focused on providing us the specific activities we wanted. He was very responsive to two different requests for help with small issues with our cabin.

One quibble—Perhaps others would disagree, but we felt the lack of seatbelts in the open vehicles was a safety hazard on the tar road, where speeds and traffic were significant.

I cannot say enough about this facility, it's manager and staff. Top notch treatment, food was excellent and the manager was the kindest individual. He was full of knowledge regarding the area and what it has to offer. There was a group of 5 of us and we were treated excellent, the bed was warm at night and turned down for us, the staff was so accommodating and the safari's were excellent as well as our guide, Sox, who knew so much about the area and all the animals, he was very informative.

The Manager, Florian, actually helped my daughter and I recover from a covid quarantine situation, without him, we would have been stranded without a lifeline to the states. He went beyond what would be expected as a manager and his actions only demonstrated what a lovely individual he truly is. I am so grateful for him and his staff.

We spent Christmas here, with all the Christmas fare that we would have at home. Had the most incredible experience at this lovely ‘camp’ site. Safe secure with staff 24/7. It’s posh camping, I would say, Has heavy duty fixed tent, set on concrete foundation, Complete with a semi mess door, double bed, mosquito net, everything you’d expect to find in a hotel room, nice roomy bathroom & toilet. Lovely shower. Has a veranda with comfy chairs to relax, over looking the water hole where all sorts of animals & large birds, (including giraffes & elephants) come all day & night to drink. Sounds of nature all around. Electric fence around the campsite. The staff were the absolute best. Always attentive with big smiles. Florian, the manager was always there day & night, always making sure we were ok throughout our stay. Staying late & up early. Our stays included all food and drinks, river cruises & game drives with our guide Simon who was so good & knowledgeable. The food was lovely. My only regret is we couldn’t stay longer.

The fact that the camp overlooks a wonderfully active waterhole, and the safari guide, Sox, were the highlights of this camp. My tent was clean, but a little sad looking, with water stains on the wall and quite a few holes in the mosquito netting. The food was great, with a good variety on offer; in the evening it’s served in the Boma, overlooking the waterhole. Groups sit separately and the guide doesn’t join you. The staff were polite and professional, but not particularly friendly. The Chobe river cruise and Chobe park safari, both around a 30 minute drive from the camp, were excellent, giving good opportunities to see a variety of animals and birds. Sox, the guide, was friendly and super knowledgeable. In general, the common areas looked rather sad and tired, so only a 3-star rating, considering the cost.

Loved this place. We were lucky to get the best room overlooking the watering hole. As a result we saw EVERYTHING from monkeys to giraffes, elephants, wart hogs and so much more. It was amazing.
I also made friends with the house Mongoose Chilli and Mango. Adorable little thngs but naughty when they followed me and hid in my room.

The room was nice - basic as expected and the massive spiders I did not like!!

The food wasn't good - just OK and the staff tried to encourage us to go on trips so they didn't have to serve us. It was difficult trying to get hold of anyone if you wanted a drink.
The manager was really nice and accommodating.

The pool is tiny but you can sit around it and the elephants come right by to play in a semi dry watering spot.

Loved this place - definitely recommend.

The first thing we saw was the water hole, where a family of elephants had gathered in the sun. This is a lovely camp, everyone so friendly, and very comfortable. Food was delicious! We had 2 safari drives each day, and saw a leopard, and lions, as well as so many elephants, giraffes and zebras. Our guide Lebo was great. It was very cold at night, and the electric blankets being turned on ready for your bedtime was such a treat!

A lovely stay at this very charming camp where all manner of animals gather at a watering hole facing the common area of the camp. From our tents we had spectacular views of sunrise and sunset. Our guide did his utmost to ensure we saw as much wildlife as possible, and the staff looked after us very well. Thank you to Florence and co !

Great guides, attentive staff, awesome food. Everything about this camp was perfect. We stayed in the Lux tents - very nice. Amazing wildlife viewing. This year there is an unbelievable number of animals in Chobe, very exciting. We also recommend pairing Elephant Valley Lodhe with their sister camp, Kadizora Camp in the Okavango Delta.

Hi everyone. what's the weather been like in the past at the beginning of Nov please
Answer from manager309
Kasane, Botswana
Good day. The past month of November has been great. It is a hot month still but as it is the start of the rainy season, it has cooled down a bit. I personally love November as everything comes to life after the dry season.

Hi there, I recommend SAA from Joburg to VicFalls; Zimbabwe-visa has gone cheaper and now costs 30 USD (cash!) instead of 50. Don't let others tell you the falls are in Zambia, as the best view (and the park to walk alongside it) is and always was in Zim for sure. My recommendation: do not miss "High Tea" in the Victoria Falls Hotel (USD 15) - an absolute must - apart from experiencing the friendly Zimbabwean service you will also see the bridge and the spray of the falls while dining on cucumber sandwiches. Camp sites in Zim are clean and generally safe. The people are extremely friendly and will be grateful you visit their negative-news-ridden country. Have fun!

We found that if you leave a tip at the reception, this will be split between all the staff at the lodge, which is great for people working behind the scenes. If you want to tip an individual guide who has taken you on a game drive/boat cruise then give them the tip directly. Tip amount is entirely up to you, but we gave our guides between $5-$10 per trip
