Huge lodge with a ton of people … very impersonal and cattle like. Rooms dated and need refresh. Buffet lots of selection, didn’t go hungry. Game drives awful … felt like u were on a Disney ride … guide was awful as well … just follow truck after truck in a line … they obviously have a loop they drive … did see lots of animals but again felt like you were cattle … would not recommend or go back.

The lodge is directly located on board of the Chobe river. We had a nice super clean room with a balcony on the river side. Everything is so beautiful done with lots of art and wooden furniture. And the staff - always friendly, helpful and attentive. Lunch is great ! And the game drive was spectacular.

Had a wonderful Stay at this inviting lodge! Wished we could have stayed longer. The pool was a welcome relief from the heat!! Service excellent overall but very slow service at lunch. Lovely big comfy rooms. Great location to see some animals at the watering hole at a distance from the resort.

I stayed here for 2 nights and even though I was extremely ill and missed most of the first day, I still liked it. My room was lovely with air con and ceiling fan which I needed. Bed and pillows very comfortably, fantastic rain forest shower with excellent water pressure. Lots of animals walking around the grounds, warthogs, mongooses, water monitor lizards. Did a river safari and saw lots of hippopotamus, elephants swimming and crocodiles. I missed the buffet dinner which my group said was excellent but enjoyed the buffet breakfast the next morning. There were a few hungry kitties in the restaurant area and of course I had to feed them. I saw a number of people being nasty to them...honestly it doesn't take much to be kind. I would love to stay here again.

Accommodation excellent. Lovely setting beside Chobe River with rooms looking out onto garden where warthog, mongoose, busk buck, monkey and many different birds can be observed. Buffet restaurant very good. River cruise with very knowledgeable guides run daily from the hotel. Staff very friendly and approachable. Went out of their way to support us during an episode of illness that occurred at the end of our otherwise excellent holiday.

Hotel was lovely. Rooms were comfortable. Food was exceptionally good. Good choice and high standard couldn’t fault it at all. We had 5 activities included, the evening boat cruise was a big boat with quite a few people although we did have a good experience. However we also had a private daytime cruise with Joseph which was exceptional. We had a morning game drive in a full jeep which was average at best, and then an evening jeep game drive with Simon and it was just our party. What a difference - fabulous! The reason I didn’t give the hotel 5 stars was , we regularly had to go back down to reception to get our room key re registered. That was a pain. Our room didn’t have s fridge , which the other rooms seemed to. This was my 5th trip to Africa and the only time we haven’t been offered a snack before we left on the early morning game drive. That was strange. That said it was a good hotel and represented good value for money in a generally expensive location and I would definitely recommend it.

If this is the best the area has to offer- don't visit. The rooms are old, the doors have gaps of 1/2 to 1 inch top and bottom, bugs and whatever can and will freely enter your room. The air-conditioning does not cool the room until nightfall. The Game Drives are unprofessional and unorganized, and too many of the guides attitudes are terrible. The front desk, the restaurant, and the bar are poorly managed, with staff chatting each other and LITTLE SERVICE. Even housekeeping is too busy to even get towels. With the current level of productivity and lack of supervision/management they need to double their staff. On a positive note the food was good and enough to satisfy any hunger. I do not recommend this lodge as currently operated.

This is a great place to stay to see the Chobe NP and the vast amount of wildlife within it. It is situated on a quiet stretch of the river but within a few minutes walk of the safe and interesting small town of Kasane. You could also have an even shorter walk to the sister hotel situated within the same grounds away from the river for dinner. Our deal included dinner and one game drive each day and we enjoyed the a la carte menu in the sister hotel much more than the buffet style dinner in the main restaurant. Both are excellent though. The staff and management are superb and are great people. We wrongly believed we had a security problem and the night manager went out of his way to help us. He was brilliant. Thank you for your care even though it was all our own error.

This hotel is in a fabulous location, right next to the Chobe River, plenty of wildlife on and beside the river and wandering round the grounds, providing plenty of entertainment. Our room was lovely, nice balcony, overlooking a grassy, wooded area and the river, comfortable beds, a couple of nice seats and a table,a dressing table, fridge and a safe. plenty of space and a large and very nice bathroom, though we kept the sink plugs down, otherwise there could be a smell of drais in the room. In the main the service was good and the buffet food excellent, both in our hotel and the nearby sister hotel which was a la carte. The service round the pool area could be better, with more alert and attentive waiting staff or possibly a paging service should be looked into, although it did not spoil our stay. The reception staff were friendly and very helpful. It is close to the vilage amenities and only about 1.3km to the furthest shops and there is a craft centre and a souvenier shop on site, both reasonably stocked. The hotel is only about 5km to the Sedudu Gate the entrance to the National park and the boats are right by the hotel. I tried a fishing trip up river which was brilliant and gave a different and beautiful view.

We had a 3 night stay and did two game drives and one boat safari. We booked independently directly with the lodge. The service was just excellent from everyone and the location is wonderful. The room was a "little dated" but very clean, functional and secure. Meals were buffet style but plenty of choice, there was also an option to eat A la Carte at the adjacent property. We did this option on one night and it was better and was more suitable for us. It does cater for Western tour groups and does this very well. We looked at a lot of reviews of different lodges before we booked and for the price point of Chobe Safari Lodge we were very happy with the service/quality vs cost. Very easy to e-mail and book direct and the local reservations teams could not have been more responsive and helpful. We loved the place and the excellent experiences they gave me and my wife
