This is a nice guest house for a one night stay. Mo self catering option, restaurant available. Offers trips on the river and river can be accessed on foot close-by. Staff very friendly and helpful. Typical guest house experience with a room and en-suite bathroom.
I’m just ending a long trip and this is the first place I stayed where I would want to stay forever. Its also close to the park entrance, shops and PCR testing as well . I had thought “Old House” , hmm ? What it is it beautifully updated decorated extremely clean rooms among lush greenery. The restaurant was excellent including the pizza which I’m from NY and picky. The place also has a dock and houseboat that the owner Luke takes out for sunset cruises in the evening. Animals are all over with great photo opportunities. Luke and his wife run the place with such warmth. He was even so kind to book a local flight when I had some difficulty and then drove me to the airport and walked in with me. Great guy, great place. You will be extremely happy staying here !!!
Although a tad out of our price range, it was worth it.... Rooms were quaint and we'll appointed - the shower was too good to leave - the staff very friendly, the food delicious. Well worth visiting!!
The lodge was very nice with a relaxed atmosphere, nice little pool and great food and drink. You can organise safari directly through the lodge and they have great guides to take you out. We had Rems for a full-day safari and he was excellent! Although we struggled to find what we were after for the start of the day, his relationships with other drivers and his persistence meant we saw exactly what we were after by the end of the day which was capped off with a Lioness eating an Elephant and then strolling past a leopard only a few metres away from us. A truly incredible experience!!!
My brother and I spent 4 days a the Old House with Rams as our guide and he was absolutely fantastic. Knowledgable with fantastic spotting skills we did the boat cruise and several drives with him and saw a ton! Even in the beginning of the rainy season in December we saw wild dogs, elephant, lots of lion, and some really stand-out encounters with hippos the other herbivores. As a guide Rams is easily up there with some of the best guides at high end camps in the Delta and other parts of southern Africa, and would highly recommend trying to get him if you can upon a visit. Very personable, friendly, and makes a huge effort to give his guests a genuinely special experience. Lodging and the food here is solid, and perfect for the price. As a homebase to visit Chobe (easily 15 min away) could not recommend more.…
