Amazing hotel and guide service. Whether you are an experienced photographer or a total novice, you'll find yourself having an amazing time. From the time we touched down in Kasane, it was less than an hour later that I found myself on a boat in the middle of the Chobe River with a camera in my hand. Our amazing photo host, Mike, guided us through the initial steps of using a camera to the more complicated settings and composition to give us truly beautiful photos of the wildlife. From beginning to reluctant end, the hotel staff took wonderful care of us. The food was fantastic, and the hotel itself looks like a lovely art gallery with photography from the photo guides. We also were interested in a trip to Victoria Falls, and every aspect of our excursion and hotel stay in Victoria Falls was handled by Pangolin. The guides took extraordinary care to ensure we saw an amazing number of animals, from hippos tussling in the river to tiny malachite birds hiding in the reeds. We had a wonderful time, and highly recommend!

We spent 6 nights (3+3) at Pangolin Chobe Hotel and their Voyager boat in a group of 8 (which is the maximum). It is a photography tour with the same expert photographer and guide on each of the 14 trips out onto the Chobe River. It was wonderful. I was the only non photographer and it was not a problem to just sit and chill. The opportunities for amazing wildlife sightings were abundant. The accommodation was comfortable and interesting! The meals were varied and tasty, cooked by local staff with plenty of alcohol selections included. The staff were very friendly and seemed happy!

Pangolin Hotel and photo safaris are awesome. My wife is the photographer; I am the interested observer. She appreciated the many technical tips and I appreciated being given a good camera that allowed me to take some surprisingly good shots. The room was spacious and comfortable; the food was exceptional. So much variety over 6 days and top quality.

We had an AMAZING time. Our time at the Pangolin Chobe Hotel was wonderful….. to summarize I would say “First class service with a friendly family feel!” We loved the boat safari’s and the land safari’s as well, got to see lions on a kill, so that was pretty special. The photo hosts and safari guide were very knowledgeable and helped us get some great shots. The animal and bird life on the river was spectacular. The boats and camera gimbles are superb. The rooms were so comfortable, staff were super friendly and helpful, and the food was top notch. There was such attention to detail that it made us feel very special and well cared for. AND they sang for us and had a cake to help us celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and 50th birthdays. Very sweet of them!

An amazing experience from start to finish. The staff were friendly and welcoming, always wearing a smile. The accommodation is great with large comfortable beds, plenty of desk space for editing and powerpoints for charging devices. The food was delicious and plentiful. Thank you Chef Rabson (hmmm) and the wonderful waitstaff. A special thank you to our photo hosts Sabine and Walter for your tuition during safaris and editing sessions. Without your knowledge and guidance I could not have achieved the photos I did. Also a big thank you to Keeme for driving and guiding us on both the boat and land safaris. We saw a wide variety of animals and had a blast while doing so.

We booked 6 nights in the hotel and 4 nights on the houseboat. Both were amazing. Photographic tuition out on the day boat was excellent, as was the post processing Lightroom tuition. We got lucky with the weather, having taken risk to book in "green season". Just 1 afternoon of heavy rain. The wildlife certainly didn't disappoint. Herons and kingfishers a plenty. Lots of hippo and buffalo. OMG how many elephants. We counted 150 plus from upper deck of the houseboat in a single sighting. And we saw several herds crossing the channel to the island. Simply perfect.

Great photographic opportunities, comfortable accommodation with lovely views, delicious food, helpful training and coaching. The two game drives a day, boat or land vehicle were well fitted for photographers. The filter coffee plus fresh biscuits during the boat or game drive was a welcome break from frenetic photography.
