The check in process was quick and effecient. The location is right on Sheik Zayed Road so easy access and about 15 minutes to the airport in rush hour. Close proximity to Metro Station. Nearest mall is a couple of KM away hence would need a cab. Rooms are spacious, however the fittings and furniture in the bedroom and toilets are a bit old fasioned. A bit of a modernisation in the fit out can be expected. The staff are friendly. The view from the resturants on the higher floors are superb. The breakfast was good but is more on the English breakfast with no Indian breakfast on offer. The restaurant staff was helpful and offered great service.
The bedding was very comfortable. I requested for a late check out and was agreed to but at a price. Mr. Gabriel was helpful and gave a generous discount which is appreciated.

We stayed here for 3 nights. Staff were friendly upon arrival. When we asked if our 2 rooms were on the same floor they offered to upgrade us to a 3 bedroom suite. The bedrooms were fine. one room was the master with it's own bathroom, the second had 2 single beds, and the third was a more basic room, but had the curtains missing. There was a nice communal sitting area which worked well for our family to organize our day and unwind at night. The location was great. Only 15AED taxi ride to the Dubai Mall and a couple of buildings over was a grocery store where we bought yogurts and cereal for breakfasts. Tim Hortons and Starbuck were also nearby. Other fast food joints were close as well. We used the fitness facilities one morning and was clean with a nice view. We went to the Jimmy Wickets pub on site each night for their 4 beers-chicken lollipops (wings) deal. Overall we were very please.

Our stay was during the first few days of coronavirus so things were quiet in the hotel. It still supplied a very decent breakfast and I was sad to have missed the buffett version but what was supplied was excellent. It is in a very good location,just a short walk to a metro station and there is a car hire place just down the road. We were on 32nd floor with a great suite, worth the little extra money. The views were magnificent, although it was a shame not to have been allowed onto the roof top to see the views from there.. Would definitely recommend staying here, it was very clean, staff were as helpful as they could be in the uncertainty of what was open or closed. You could see the Burja Khalifa from the restaurant if you sat in the right place.and although there is building work in the surrounding area it has no effect on the hotel, its interesting to watch how the very tall buildings are achieved.

Room service in this hotel is very slow. They will provide only 4 towels/ glasses when we had booked a 3 bedroom apartment for 8 people (4 adults and 4 kids). Reception staff unfriendly and unprofessional. Manager doesn’t follow any customer service ethos.

The room was spacious and well furnished, with interesting views from both the bedroom and lounge areas. Bath sheets as opposed to towels were a welcome addition in the bathroom; basic toiletries were supplied. The iron and ironing board were appreciated, as were the tea and coffee making facilities. So far so good - the problem began whilst we were asleep; extremely loud and thumping nightclub music reverberating through our skulls kept us awake from midnight until 3 am on both nights of our stay. Initially we assumed it was coming from elsewhere; upon checking out we complained at reception, whereupon it was suggested that someone in an adjoining room must have had their music turned up too loud. After we insisted the music came from a professional source, the receptionist admitted that they had an Arabian Nightclub four floors up from our room, which finished at 3 am. No apology was forthcoming. Needless to say we are unable to recommend this hotel.

My sister and I are currently on a hotel hopping journey due to our work being in Dubai and our residence in Abu Dhabi. We did not want to invest in an apartment as this is a temporary predicament until it becomes more accessible to daily commute once again. I took this opportunity to experience what Dubai Hotels has to offer during the pandemic time; therefore, nothing below three stars was in our radar.
In every encounter, there is a balance of pros and cons. However, my experience at the Carlton Downtown is inclined to the latter. These are my key takes from my stay at the establishment a week ago. Cons: 1. The cleanliness or better said, lack off, was the first thing I noticed once we were escorted to our room. The tea table, chairs, and carpet were stained and appalling. During this pandemic, that is my primary point when staying in a hotel, and it is unexpected not to have a thorough screening of the rooms. Having seen this, the Health and Safety video advertised throughout the hotel is more of a marketing gimmick than the actuality. 2. After filing the complaint and being switched to a different room, I noticed the difference immediately. A cloth chair in R1 but an out of place office rolling chair in R2, a proper fridge as how you would have at home in R1 and missing in R2. This shows the inconsistency in overall design of the rooms and far from the example photos presented during time of booking. 3. The parking space was incredibly challenging to manoeuvre and is a disgraceful sight with garbage at every corner. I parked in there on ONE day out of my whole week and refused as I felt uneasy even to touch the door. When I requested to park in the spots near the entrance, as to not to be put through that experience again, the bellboy mentioned that he could not allow me as it is only for 4x4 even though my car is as long and wide as a Nissan Patrol (NOTE: there were numerous NON SUV parked where I had previously requested which is incredibly discrediting). 4. The hotel has marked off the regular door entrances and guided us to walk through the rotating doors which were ineffective as we are required to push it ourselves. Pros: 1. The rooms are spacious with adequate seating area and closet space. 2. The room is fitted with a guest washroom and a master washroom (extremely helpful when having to rush in the morning) Overall this experience is not what I had expected and would not be revisiting this hotel soon. We booked this hotel for our 31st night and the USP is it's location. It's within walking distance of almost all happening 31st night party venues in downtown. The room is spacious and clean, however, we did have to spend considerable time calling up house keeping for fixing lights, changing water kettle and asking for extra bath towels, face towels and slippers.
The hotel has a valet parking but not for 31st, where it's self parking. View offered from the room is lovely.
Breakfast is situated on the 44th floor restaurant called Baity. The buffet spread was ok.

The Carlton Downtown is an amazing hotel, I’m not even sure where to start. When I had questions I was able to email and get a response but found that using What’s App was more efficient. Prawesh Rai helped me to confirm my reservation on what’s app after a mix up. I requested a view of the Burj Khalifa and got it. He was very professional and helpful, even called to make sure I got checked in ok upon arrival.
My daughter, grandson and I were here for NYE 2021 and to go to the Expo 2020. The hotel is merely 1 block from the red line metro that goes right to the expo . The red line also has direct access to the Burj Khalifa, World Trade Center and Mall of the Emirates just to name a few.
There is a nice rooftop pool, gym and spa here. I believe there are 3 restaurants, with one of them being a hookah lounge too.
We had a 2 bedroom suite which was so beautiful: 1 queen bed with en-suite bathroom and a twin room with its own bathroom, a dining area. work desk and a living room.
We could control temp of our own rooms individually which was a plus. Our house keeper came in the afternoon after we finally rolled out of bed each day. My bed was so comfy I had a hard time getting up and the black out curtains didn’t help either 😂 While room service was a little pricey, the food was scrumptious and satisfying. We got fresh water every day when our room was serviced.
Oh one last thing, the Wi-Fi! Good connection and could run streaming services with no problem. I’m sure there’s more, but I can’t remember, but I know that I absolutely love this hotel and will be back later this year

First I have to thank the hotel manager for the beautiful design of the room on arrival, and thank you for the delicious cake that brought us to our wedding anniversary The hotel offers good facilities for the money you pay The best of this hotel is close to the subway Unfortunately, the hotel's air conditioning service had a problem, and although it had been announced four times, no one came in to fix it and the room was very cold and I was cold. Carlton Downtown is a nice hotel with a lovely view from level 47 over downtown Dubai. The best thing with this hotel was the breakfast. The variety of breakfast was very good, everything from oat porridge, cereals, fresh vegetables, pastries to fresh fruits, juices, eggs baked beans and bacon. Chef Nadia made some delicious omelets that really made my days. (Thank you Nadia).
The rooftop was nice, but they could have made it more cozy. Unfortunately the rooms were not as fresh as the lobby. It smells smoke in the non smoking rooms and you could see cigarette burns on the furnitures. While our visit, we had to call for towels almost every day, because they removed the towels but didn't replaced them with new ones. We got the wash cloths instead of a regular hand towel.
During this pandemic, you assume everyone is taking responsibility and stays safe. On Carlton Downtowns webpage and on their tv channel, you ge to know about the measures taken to protect everyone. Towels come sealed, something that I haven't seen during my stay. People enter the hotel without masks, they enter the elevator without a mask even tho it says No Mask No Entry. I don't think that a sticker is enough! The hotel is responsible to make sure that the guests respects that. I shouldn't have to avoid taking the elevator because other guests don't respect the measures. I don't think it was my duty to ask guest to wear a mask while entering the same elevator as me. This happened every day. I don't think this was a safe place and the measures were non-existing.
It's a shame because this hotel could have gotten 5 stars easily if everyone was doing what they were supposed to do.
