For December in Dubai to be able to secure twice the space for a room/apartment at about a third of the price of all the expensive hotels next door was great value. Te beach and tennis courts are around the back. Many nice restaurants are accessible within a short walk to JBR or the Marina.

Additionally, the team especially the front desk (Judy) were OUTSTANDING in the level of services provided. Nothing was ever too much trouble.
The level of Care was both genuine and exceeded that of the level of service at most luxury properties I have stayed at over the years and even the Ritz around the corner.

I would like to call out the genuine care and service displayed with a smile at all times, by Judy ( Front Desk) throughout my 1 4 day stay. Nothing was ever too much trouble.

The location is appropriate if the proximity to the Marina and the beach is important. The metro stop is within walking distance only 15 minutes. Slightly noisy due to traffic. The staff is kind and helpful. Breakfast is simple but fresh and plentiful. There is always fresh fruit and the staff is very attentive to requests. Because of the size of the apartments, more than enough. The kitchen is useful and well equipped. The beds are comfortable.

My wife and I moved in to our deluxe 2 bed apartment in June. All I can say is that Alyssa, Cheryl, Ahmed and the rest of the staff have been totally fantastic. They are super helpful, friendly, supportive and professional.
The hotel is well run, super clean and our room as a long term guest is cleaned twice a week. The Covid-19 rules are followed by all staff and as we now have a newborn baby (since arrival) we feel safe and secure knowing all is done properly. The hotel itself is new, modern, spotlessly clean and very well maintained. Our apartment overlooks the Jumeirah Beach with its spectacular sunset and views from Bluewater Island, the new Ain Dubai wheel, the JBR beach, the Palm Jumeirah and Skydive Dubai. It really is a spectacular view. We now as a three are very happy in our spacious apartment and definitely recommend both holiday makers to long term residents to stay here. It is also a great location to explore the JBR and for myself with easy access to cycle around the Marina, JBR and JLT. Highly recommend.

We stayed in Barcelo for 4 months which is located in the Marina: the view is great but the location is average since there is a mosque at your doorstep (early prayers can be disturbing; even on the 19th floor) and the service road is right around the corner which can be dangerous if people are stopping there to turn in towards the hotel.

The staff is friendly overall but not so much at the reception: in all travels over the world, I experienced that the reception staff would friendly greet and welcome, but this is not the custom in Barcelo. Pool staff and an employee called Daniel are outstandingly friendly and give super service.

When checking-in the 2BR was superficially clean which was maintained throughout the stay. No deep clean and most of the time, tissue boxes and toilet paper was not provided (only after calling the reception).

The wifi is acceptable but if you can get the hidden high speed wifi, it turns into value for money.

The pool is nice and has 2 jacuzzis and the arrangement to book is well done. Max 1hr because of COVID and to keep the number of guests limited is well thought.

Speaking COVID: the sanitizer dispensers in the elevator are a good thing if they would work. Most did not.

The apartment we were in was ok: spacious with 2 bed rooms with a lot of day light and kitchen. The 2 badrooms were practical but one had a fan that was impossible to turn off and made a noise which was irritating at night, and the bathroom smelled (even if the toilet wasn't used).

Pricewise the room price went up with the dynamics in the market but the rate exploded to a level where there is absolutely no balance between quality and service versus the price. The hotel claims to care and cherish their long-term guests but has a very short-term price policy driven by high demand in the market due to conferences and Expo. Of course, with dynamics in supply & demand everybody has the right to adjust, but (since it is my review) in this case the hotel is overshooting the delivery on promise

We booked a Superior room which were meant to be located on the top floor with a view, but we got a regular one on the 16 floor. The apartment is nice and modern but the bathroom looks old and dirty.
On booking.com it says there is a kettle and coffee machine in the room but there is non, when we asked for that they said they don’t have any available, and there is no restaurant or anything cafe where you can get it from.
On the first night we had a leak from the ceiling in the bathroom, on the second night massive moth flew out of the wardrobe, on the New Year’ Eve just before leaving for the party I realized that the iron is not working.
Staff is very friendly and trying to help as much as they can.

The condition of the furniture is subpar for the hotel rating. The couches were dirty. We requested two sheets of linen to throw on top of the couches because they were dirty. The bed frame in the master bedroom was broken as well. The window in the master bedroom wouldn't close properly either, which let in sound from the street.

The housekeeping was practically daily which is a great thing and we always got several bottles of water. Although the floor was swept clean every time during housekeeping, I don't think it was vacuumed a single time. The carpets were quite filthy with stains. Something new for this hotel that wasn't present during our first stay in 2018 was those cards you put on the bed when you want your sheets and pillows changed. We left them on the bed and discovered that the sheets hadn't been changed at all – only the bed had been made. This is because one of the sheets had a hole in it and after the "change" it still had the same hole.
The apartment was riddled with moth flies as well which would start to fly around during nights.

During check-out, the receptionist asked us what we thought of the room and we raised some of our concerns and he asks us why we didn't ask to change our apartment. That may perhaps be an option, but not a solution. If an apartment is flawed, why even let people stay in it? It shouldn't be given to anybody in the first place until it's up to standard.

It's clear that the hotel has changed a bit since our first stay in July 2018, when the hotel was fairly new.

During our 14 night stay, the reception staff barely bothered to say good evening or good day to us. They were nice over the phone though when I had a few requests like sending maintenance up to repair the curtain rail track, which wouldn't close properly. After a night or so, it stopped working again and we couldn't be bothered as it seemed to be a problem that couldn't be fixed really.

The porter who helped us with our luggage during check-in and check-out was very nice to us and always said hello. Extremely nice gentleman.

We stayed in a one bed appartment which was in a clean condition on arrival. The appartment was perfect as we have young kids, having a fridge, kettle and cooker was really handy. The breakfast was great with lots of variety including an egg station and the staff were really helpful.

The hotel is really close to the jbr and marina walks which we enjoyed doing almost daily. The only negative was outside the hotel there are some roadworks going on which made it difficult for us as we had a pushchair.

It was nice to have a view of the lovely marina mosque alongside the skyline.

We booked a superior room, and ended up with a room that had a small kitchen and no cutlery or amenities that we could use. We asked to switch rooms which was much better and more comfortable. The only issue we had with the second room was the couch, but we just covered it. The apartment was spacious and housekeeping was there everyday to make sure we were comfortable. In general the residence were not bad, and it is in a good location.

Good day everyone! We rested at this hotel from 09/20.23 to 09/28.23. We arrived at the hotel in the morning, at the reception they offered to check us in in 20 minutes, a few hours earlier than it should be. We settled in room 905, the room is not very large, but cozy. The reception promptly solved all our problems when checking in: they gave us an extra bed, gave us extra blankets, pillows. The room has everything you need for a comfortable stay: washing machine, clothes dryer, iron with ironing board, kettle, capsule coffee machine, microwave, refrigerator, gas stove and oven, pots, frying pan, plates, glasses, knives, forks, spoons, cutting board, napkins. Tea, coffee, sugar, dry cream, water were replenished every day. If they forgot to put something, it was solved very quickly through the reception. The quality of cleaning is on top! Very clean, every day. Very clean and snow-white bed linen. Good towels, bathrobes, slippers. In the bathroom there are sets of shower gels, conditioners for hair and body, personal hygiene kits. The furniture was a little tired in places, but it wasn't critical for us. There is a free safe. Two TVs. The climate control works perfectly, it was set up once as we need and was not touched again until the end of the vacation. Overall - a very good hotel with decent service!

The flat was spacious with an extra-large comfortable bed. The staff was genuinely nice and responsive. The location of the aparthotel was particularly good, also had a sofa bed, washing machine, microwave, toaster, tea kettle, iron, stove, a hood, a kitchen sink, a locker, and utensils to cook. The staff provided additional utensils at our request. The apartment was genuinely nice.

Special thanks must go to the front desk "CRIS", he was extremely friendly, respectful, and from day 1 he treated us excellently.
We will definitely go back!
