We visited the Hotel Park at the end of July 2021. This was our experience. We stayed in a sea view suite, consisting of a lounge, bedroom and bathroom. It was excellent in all respects; the bed was very comfortable, the decor tasteful and understated and the shower was great. The front facing windows overlooked the swimming pool area at the front of the hotel and the beach beyond. The staff at the hotel were, without exception, totally professional, friendly and very helpful. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel each day and enjoyed them both very much. Breakfast is a buffet with a wide variety of meats, cheeses, breads etc. on offer. For dinner, we ordered from the bar, and enjoyed beautifully presented salads. The range of the menu could possibly be extended but what is on offer was very good. The hotel is situated within 10-15 minutes walk of the old city centre and staff are always on hand to assist with directions. All in all, excellent. Two small points to be aware of, however. The hotel has one swimming pool, which is situated outside on the beach side of the building. The pool itself is great but small and there is only room for a very small number of loungers around its perimeter. In other words, in summer months, it would seem a good idea to get to the pool early as otherwise, guests tend to put their towels on the loungers and that’s that. Sometimes loungers were vacated for hours but by leaving towels on them, they were essentially out of bounds to anyone else who wished to sit by the pool. It might be something for the hotel to look into, as one or two guests were monopolising this area somewhat. The other thing (and not a fault of the hotel) is it’s location. Directly opposite is a beach which, at midnight, turns into a major party rendezvous for hundreds, who gather in the street right outside the hotel or just beyond, on the beach, where the main music is blasted out. It’s pretty full on to say the least! Luckily, our air conditioning cancelled out a large part of this sound but not all - that would ha e been very difficult! The hotel would seem aware of the problem as they provide earplugs gratis next to guest’s beds……
Very nice staff. Rooms were clean and spacious. Unfortunately the air conditioning is directed to bed, so if you are sensitive to cold air, you should ask for a room where the bed is not placed right under the air conditioning. The pool area is not really clean, and the furniture needs an update (for a 5 star hotel).
The service and the location were exceptional - very helpful staff, giving the right service and advice. And right on the front of the main beach where the action was and 15 mins from the old town. A particular thanks to Marco and Dino who were our principal advisors during this trip and helped us a lot
The hotel itself delivers most of its promises: nice view, clean room and good location. Service was a mixed bag. People working the breakfast restaurant and room service did a solid job. The front desk was not very engaging and quite unprofessional with helping me book a transfer to Hvar - while hardly surprising, the way they made me pay for it made it clear that the guy was taking a 20% cut from the company. Room amenities were some days re-stocked, some days were not. Not much competition in Split, so they can get away with much more than they would otherwise be able to elsewhere.
We decided to book a last minute 4-day holiday to Croatia to celebrate my birthday on 28 August and we were not disappointed. The hotel decor and bedrooms were lovely, a real 5-star outfit. The staff were a particular highlight for us though. They were extremely attentive and were always more than happy to book restaurants/transport and make suggestions for us. The holiday was all the more special as we got engaged on the poolside. Hotel Park's motto is "You are a part of the story" - the hotel and staff will now always be a part of our story. We can't recommend it enough.
