I wish there was a higher review to offer - we truly had the best experience at this beautiful hotel. We stayed eight days and could not have been happier. The front desk staff and manager are wonderfully kind, helpful, and seem to truly value you as their guests. The location couldn’t be better - great restaurants and gelato within a stones throw, the promenade is about a minute walk away, and you are within Diocletian’s Palace (so part of the building is roughly 1700 years old). The rooms are beautiful, comfortable, quiet, and have unique charm all unto themselves. Even after eight days, I have to admit, I got a bit teary when it was time to leave. This place helped us truly fall in love with Split.
We had reserved a room through a third party site in 2019. Covid required us to cancel and the site charged us a 30 percent cancel fee. Fast forward to 2021 and I contacted the hotel to make a new reservation for this year directly instead of using a third party site. When I told Suzana about having to pay the cancel fee last time, she surprised and delighted me by giving us a credit for the amount the third party side had paid her already. I did not ask for this, but she insisted. She said it was the fair thing to do. Not only am I excited about hopefully staying at this beautiful hotel, I am so thankful for businesses with such integrity. Thank you and I so hope we will be able to get to the Plaza Marchi this time!
I chose this hotel because of the location and I wasn't disappointed. I got a free upgrade to a great room (no 203 I think it was) which had windows in two directions and a small balcony. The staff was amazing and the hotel has a rooftop terrace with fantastic views. I felt extremely welcome at this place and I wouldn't hesitate to return to it.
This is a fantastic place to stay. We were concerned after we read some of the reviews regarding noise. But rest assured this is not an issue. My wife couldn't hear me when I called from the bathroom. The windows are also triple glazed and the pub that caused the noise nearby is now permanently closed. The location is superb, being both near the Riva on the seafront and in the heart of the old town. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed. We kept extending our stay so actually stayed in 3 different rooms, including a basic room and a suite. They are all lovely. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. Be warned. Split is an ancient city. Every hotel in the old town has no lift. This hotel does, but you walk up 1 flight of stairs to get to it. The hotel is actually built in to the ancient walls. It is stunning. It is down an alley and is a little difficult to find. The access doesn't look too attractive. However, this is more than made up for by all the benefits. It was superb value for money. There is no bar or restaurant, but there are many many places to eat and drink a few steps away. We wouldn't hesitate to book this hotel again. Thank you Plaza Marchi and your fantastic team. Denis and Natalie Morgan…
Staff really friendly and helpful. Hotel is a great location in the old town and within a very short walking distance of great bars and restaurants yet tucked away so you wouldn’t know they were there. Room was really spacious and there is a top class roof top terrace with great views of the harbour and city
