This hotel, while well-positioned in the city center, is not worth the tariff charged.  We could hear other guests through the walls and floors, and heard other guests mentioning this as they checked out. Our rooms smelled moldy every time we entered. We understand there is a difference in service due to covid, but the service at breakfast was abysmally slow.  The wine from the bar was warm and not very good.... would not recommend it.  Definitely not a 4 star hotel.

You know that thing where you have a great experience and you want to write a review to acknowledge it, but you don't want to let everyone in on your secret? Yep, that's Heritage Palace Varos. First thing I have to mention is the staff. Roko and Alida are just wonderful. I showed up completely distraught, in the peak of August, last minute, after fleeing a disgusting apartment I had booked. They did everything in their power to accommodate me, and didn't fail in the slightest. Within 24 hours, I was more relaxed than ever. As a long-time regular visitor to Split, I'm so happy to know that such a quality and reasonable place is available in my preferred location of Varos. The decor is updated, but has personality within each room, the beds are heavenly, it's clean, and the air con makes quick work of the searing summer heat. Can't say enough good things. Will definitely be back. Hvala, Alida and Roko, vidimo se!

We spent six nights in July 2020 at the Heritage Palace and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the hotel and in Split. The hotel bedroom was comfortable, fashionably renovated and had everything we needed including efficient air-conditioning - vital as temperatures were nudging 40 degrees while we were there. The staff was friendly and welcoming and a problem with our return transfer to the airport was sorted out quickly and without fuss. Maybe a little more variety with the breakfast but there was plenty of it. The only downside was having to pay in cash - cash appears to be king in Croatia. Luckily we had notice of this and was able to make withdrawals over a few days from the conveniently located cash machine - most hotels seemed to have one to hand! Would definitely recommend a stay here - central to everything Split has to offer but just far enough away from the centre to be quiet at night.

We’ve just finished a five night, and five star, stay at this renovated rustic hotel in the quiet old town area of Split, but just five minutes easy walk from the harbour. Our room was spacious and well appointed (but without a view). The bed was comfortable, though the bedding could have done with being slightly larger. Other than that, it was excellent. The included breakfast (in the photos) was brought to our table every day and included a good selection of cold and hot food, which we never managed to finish! All the hotel staff were welcoming, friendly and polite. A great team. I’m glad we came!

The location of this hotel is amazing. Very centrally located in Old Town, a short stroll away from the shops, restaurants, boulevard, etc. The hotel itself is a very old renovated olive oil mill. Our room was nice, although quite small. We had upgraded via booking.com prior to our arrival and were both a bit shocked that the room we checked into was the upgraded version to what we were originally signed up for. However, the room itself was perfectly fine. We were just two people and were spending the majority of our time out and about exploring. We were able to very easily hear our neighbours walking around their room above us, although it wasn't too bothersome since they weren't partying or staying up during odd hours, but just something to consider in case you are a very light sleeper or prefer absolute quiet when you are in a hotel. We had a package where breakfast was included. The breakfast was perfectly fine, but eating the same thing for 6 days straight with no variation got a bit tiring. However, this is during the COVID time, so we were perfectly accepting of this change from their usual breakfast buffet. The staff was accommodating and friendly. Check in was easy, check out was a bit more of a hassle as they did not have a credit card terminal on hand and requested cash instead. When we told them we do not carry around that amount of cash, nor did they notify us in advance so we could prepare, the only option presented to us was to send our credit card details to their ''sister hotel'' for processing which was a bit unsettling. We had to catch a flight so we were really left with no other alternative to this. Overall we enjoyed our stay at this hotel, despite a few hiccups!
