Matildas Boutique Hotel is a charming hotel with only 17 rooms. It is located in Barrio Brasil, patrimonial area in Santiago de Chile. The building was built in 1912 by architects Ricardo Larrain Bravo and Alberto Cruz Montt and was completely restored retaining its classic French style. Beautiful old mansion converted to a hotel. The staff is wonderful, especially Pricilla who went out of her way to ensure I got a SIM card! Our room was on the 3D floor, and no elevator, so be prepared for stairs. They do have a luggage elevator, so you don’t need to carry

I won't bother pointing out the various details so many others have commented on. I brought a group of 26 friends to the Matlidas for 3 nights prior to board in cruise. Priscilla was great through the whole process of booking over a year out, She game me a great price and with a

Matilda's is a small hotel in the mixed residential-commercial neighborhood of Barrio Brazil. The building itself looks like it may have once been a wealthy family's home. It is in a good location, accessible by foot to many of the attractions in Santiago (note: my wife and I

A lovely welcome and although we were a little early we were made a coffee and sat in the leafy garden. We recommend getting a top floor room with air-conditioning as you will find that the wooden floors creak a lot and at this time of year it's very warm.

Hello traveler! We just stayed at the Hotel Matildas a second time. One of the reasons we like the hotel is the location - walking distance (about 10-15 minutes) to Plaza de Armas, Moneda, Museo Bellas Artes, Cathedral, etc. Barrio Brazil is safe, at least during the day and evening. The neighborhood is not fancy, but has many older buildings (including the hotel) that are in some phase of restoration. The hotel itself is lovely, well restored and with great friendly service. We had no problems with noise. We recommend it highly.

Does the hotel have air conditioning now? Will it have it by January 2018?
Yes, we are starting to put it next week. In Santiago is still nice, not hot at all.

Hi Robyn I'm pretty sure that Matildas will book an airport transfer to the hotel for you if you ask them. It's about 45 minutes, depending on the traffic. A day trip to Valparaiso should also be do-able. Don't forget that Uber operates in Chile, and you can always take the bus.

"AC rooms are on third floor. No rooms on the first floor."
"There is no lift, so if you have trouble with stairs, be sure to specify a room on a lower floor"
"Try for a room on the lower floor -- after a day of walking around town, especially in the summer heat, that 2nd flight of stairs is brutal."
"Request a second floor, garden view room for quiet and less stairs."
"No elevator, so choose 2nd floor if you have trouble with stairs."
