Just discovered the restaurant this year and already made a few visits. Becoming our favourite with good quality, non oily and best service, yet not too stiff environment. Another plus point is having a Sommelier around for those wine lovers who enjoy their food with good wine.
Stayed for a week while in Singapore. Great location in a quieter part just a short walk to Orchard Rd. Nice little deli/pastry shop downstairs for a quick bite. Manhattan Bar had some fantastic cocktails. Gentlemen at the front door were always very welcoming going in and out of the building. Lovely stay!!
Nice ambience , good food, server explained on the food when served and he was really friendly whenever we question on things. Even introduce us to the weekend buffet with a wider spread . Will try that one of the days. Excellent service and overall was a great experience once again.
Checked in was smooth. Warm welcome by the front desk. The door man up to the guy that assisted us with our luggage was nice and warm too. The room was not set up with the extra bed upon entering the room. Housekeeping attendant was fast to attend to the set up request, was very polite and attentive. Hotel room was a bit small for 3 but clean even though it looks quite old, but the set up was not like normal hotel room. The TV set was at the side from the bed. So if you need to watch the TV, you need to tilt your body over, likewise for the remote control if you need to change the TV channel, you need to move your body from the bed. Curtain of the room needs to be cleaned as my son was sneezing (since his bed was near the curtain area) OR could be the aircon flew in directly on his bed. Checked out was smooth too with small talk, and the bellman was warm and polite to assist us with our luggage.…
Love the Salad n cheese spread and dips. Dessert station too. The mains pasta was superb. Thank you to the service staff and Ananthan for good service. Would be nice to have just plain tea or black coffee with milk on side as part of buffet.
Fabulous food .. great service. Mr Prem was excellent in his service Thank you. Great ambience and overall staff was cool and friendly and ready for small chat. rare for buffet to have such standard of service. There’s a cheese room!
First and foremost, they've got really friendly staff right from receptionist to the Tea Lounge manager, Mr Rames - their service was impeccably warm and welcoming. What can i say about the spread...yummmmy. The satay sauce was a winner with us. But the crowning glory was the prawn and porkball congee - its a flavour bomb! We went for 3rds! And then came the char-siew charred to perfection and crackling in the mouth. Apparently, its the norm for patrons to reorder this plate. And its charred just before its served... Not being a fan of beef in any form, I could not resist finishing every last morsel of roastbeef on my plate, and thats saying a lot. By now, on purpose, we were looking out for a 'blah' dish. Cant be all good, right. Ha, ha...there came the chilled cherry tomato palate cleaser. The secret, or not, ingredient is apparently asam-boi! We could hv happily had it for dessert... And, oh, the kueh pai tee, filled with chopped mango and pineapples...happy happy happy Did I mention the scones...with a dash on salted egg and brushed over with strawberry jam. Exclamation...exclamation...exclamation. We shall be back!…
Basilico brunch buffets are the bestest! The service is excellent and the desserts are wonderful! The serve staff are so attentive and professional. The cheese room is a must do and features a world of amazing cheese selection! We will definitely be back here again!
The Regent's current one-week stay package is a great value. We found that it included breakfast, a discount on excellent in-house restaurants (we ate twice, wish it was three times, at Summer Palace), two free pieces of laundry daily, plus a very nice, bright room (#1018) with floor to ceiling windows overlooking low buildings and green trees. The John Portman-designed atrium affords different archetectural vistas depending on where you stand and whether there's daylight or lines of golden night-time indoor lights. As our elevator ascended or descended, we especially enjoyed the patterns of the carpets and tables at Basilico Restaurant and the moving play of light on the elements of a 5 stories-tall sculpture hanging from the ceiling. The hotel staff are highly professional, receiving a package from the outside for us, freezing our ice pack (there are many ways to do this wrong), and taking very good care of us. The staff at the front door provided umbrellas, and they were invaluable for smooth arrival and check out. Ms. Miroshini graciously helped us pay our hotel bill with a combination of cash and credit, helped us with rather complicated reservations arrangements, and somehow she had our bill ready, with restaurant discounts, before we arrived to check out. We were impressed that our regular maid on the tenth floor, Cindy, not only kept our room unusually clean but she also demonstrated extraordinary care, arranging items in the bathroom and on the desk in a logical order that put needed items at our fingertips--presumably through observation of our daily patterns of using and putting things down. We always looked forward to the delicious buffet breakfast (I learned to like scrambled eggs all over again because they made them fresh in little batches). The management sent us fruit and a welcome note when we arrived and a note with delicious chocolates just before we left. There's a bus stop in front of the Regent, and we always got two seats together when we rode the #36 bus to and from lower Orchard Road. Even if it's raining, you can almost (but not quite) walk protected from the rain, to Tanglin Mall, and the hotel location is ideal for a walk past Swan Lake to the National Orchid Garden in the Singapore Botanic Gardens where you cannot hear or see the city. In our room, I recall frequently looking at the bright space and rich pattern of reddish brown marble in the bathroom and thinking that way back in 1982 The Regent was built to be a distinguished grand hotel, and in 2022, thanks to the management and staff, it still is.…
Excellent experience with nice high tea spread with good ambience and great service from the manager - Ramesh and his crew. Keep up the excellent customer service. In the hospitality industry, it is never wrong to do more for your customers. Plus, the 50% for the second set is definitely a big plus.
