We held our wedding earlier this month at Sofitel Ballroom and everything went really well! Our coordinator Fern guided us throughout 6 months prior to the wedding & Yvon ensure everything went well on the actual day. The room & breakfast were great too! Big shout-out to housekeeper Chuan Bin who found and returned our red packets and jewelleries in the safe after we checked out. Thank you!!
I enjoyed my stay at Sofitel SG City Centre. Great location plus the room I had was super clean and had a great view of the business district. Bed was super cozy! Even the bathroom had a cozy feel to it :) can recommend this hotel! Really accessible with lots of restaurants to eat around.
Lovely bed rooms, soft bed and spacious bathroom. Just the hotel for a stopover enroute from London to Australia. The pool is good for swimming and the pool deck and lawns are green and spacious. very helpful staff and a great restaurant
I loved staying here for a layover between flights and so glad I chose it over an airport hotel. The room was luxurious and plush and I appreciated the small touches like mood lighting for a soak in the tub, excellent shampoo/conditioner products, fluffy towels, and a stationery kit at the desk. There’s even a yoga mat and gym bag in case you feel the need to hit Virgin Active. Excellent coffee and tea (with a teapot and proper tea cups!) were also appreciated as I lazed about in the enormous bed, resting up before a long haul flight. Breakfast was very good and staff were friendly and attentive. I loved having an afternoon coffee with the teddy bears in the lobby lounge. Don’t hesitate about booking here!
The hotel has a great location. Above an MRT station near Chinatown, We had a Club room which was a nice size. However, not everything is as good as expected. At check in we were told that the room would be cleaned every second day - it was cleaned every day. We were told the bar closed at 9.30pm, it closed at 10.30. It seems that the management are not advising check in of changes as the hotel re-opens after Covid. Very poor. After a long flight and late arrival we were looking forward to room service on the first night. We were told it stopped at 9.30pm, so no food available after that anywhere in the hotel. Again poor for a top hotel. They seem to have a lot of staff shortages. When we went to check out only one person on the desk so a queue soon built up. Took ages to get our bags - only one person doing that. Our room had a broken bedside drawer and broken light in the bathroom. Doesn't anyone check the rooms? Maybe if the TV was taken they might notice! To be fair once we advised reception of problems they were fixed. Only one not fixed was the slow wi-fi. So slow. You have to order in the bar using a QR code, so slow to load the menus using the hotel wi-fi. I know all the locals will be using superfast data, so not a problem for them. But please fix the wi-fi for overseas visitors. Breakfast was a disappointment. Not a great choice for a top hotel. The sausages and bacon looked terrible every day. I didn't risk them. Streaky bacon and sausages floating in some sort of liquid. Yuk. The dahl was horrible. Best thing were the pastries and cakes, excellent every day, except Saturday when there was limited choice for some reason. Finally, please train the staff in the breakfast room. If I'm trying to get back to my table with plates of food it would be good if staff didn't get in my way. It happened a few times most days to myself and my wife. I shouldn't have to give way to staff who are just walking around aimlessly. They also had a habit of trying to clear plates and cups which were full - weird. I know it's hard to get good staff with the shortages in Singapore, but the management need to train the staff they have properly.…
Nice stay, friendly staff, great location, but still, despite the post covid recovery times hotels needs to get back on track and the effect it had on their finances, some items need to improve:. - You can still find the glue stains on the floor of the 5th floor elevator landing, related probably to Covid distancing information. - No mini bar and no information provided about it. - We only had breakfast, but I didn't expect paper napkins in the Sofitel Brand - I asked for Eggs Benedict, not available, then asked for Poached eggs, but they were hard-boiled, - There are only two kinds of jams on buffet breakfast, but one of them was orange and that is since year the least popular choices for guests versus berries and more tropical available choices under these temperatures... - Also, not cup or bowl to put the jam in, so your plate is jammed all over... and one for crumble would also be helpful. - There is one helpful man very eager to clean your table removing timely dirty plates and cutlery, but they are never replaced even if they see you are not finished with breakfast. Then you need to asked around even more than once, due to the repeated removal processes when you are visiting the buffet and way from your table. - When asked about the basic content of some dishes, staff members were unable to answer like the type of crumble, jam or sauce next to the crumble. - To our surprise, the cleaning of the room was not done coming back in the evening, we inquired, and were informed it's only done every two days. No prior information was provided, and they could at least have emptied the trash bins...…
I had a very efficient, helpful and pleasant experience making a change to our room reservation. The result was a better outcome than if I had tried it all online. All due to Myra. Thank you very much, David
Went back to our room at about 2am in the morning. Soon as we opened our door water was dripping from the top ceiling. It was bad leakage not just a small drip as it is also continuously dripping causing our room entrance wet, water all around it and so unfortunate that I placed my new shoes right where the water dropped. We called the reception immediately and they sent someone to fix it at that time and we have to stay awake for the guy to finished his job with all the noise going on. There was no follow up call after that even, not even feeling sorry. 5 STAR Service of SO SOFITEL! The next morning leakage happen again when we woke up in the morning and ready to check out.
Appreciated the genuine friendly customer experience - from check-in through to Club Millesime. Rooms are excellent with a great nights sleep assured. Virgin Active gym access is a great amenity. Breakfast was a little disappointing compared to other Asian hotels but Ok. Special thank you to Leonard in Club Millesime for great service.
Booked a total of 3 rooms (2 suites and 1 club) for staycation in May. I’m an ACCOR platinum member. Check in was not as pleasant: 1. Rooms given were all in 3 separate floors (14, 16, 18). It was extremely inconvenient to get to each other’s rooms. 2. Later check in for the suites as they said they were running on full capacity. I had to go down to check on rooms availability myself. It’s not a late check in, but I was given a time to check in without pre warning the rooms will not be available. It’s about managing expectations of your guests. Fairmont would text their guests to let them know early check in was not available. 3. Welcome gift for platinum members - given for 1 room in the most half-hearted manner. Had 4 PCs of chocs which we ate free flow during lounge hours. Previously I was given a bottle of wine as a gold member. This was probably staff dependent. 4. Gave my feedback on the forums, no response. We still enjoyed the stay despite the poor start. 1. Rooms were huge for the price we paid. Enjoyed the space. 2. Staff at the club lounge and the restaurant were pleasant. Lounge staff went their way out for us. 3. Food served at both restaurant and lounge were really good. We enjoyed the spread. 4. Housekeeping staff was generous in refilling our water and towels.…
