#8 of 173 Speciality lodging in Puerto Princesa
Marina de Bay is a private getaway resort situated just twenty minutes away from the airport. On that way from the airport, you will already see a breath-taking view of the Puerto Princesa bay and the mountain ranges. It is also at Marina de Bay where the private yachts and boats can be viewed docked at front. During the night, the ambiance becomes even more spectacular with the vast view of the stars in the sky and with the dainty lights of the city screaming in from across the waters. Marina de Bay is not like any usual hotel building simply built in the city, it encapsulates the natural wonders of Puerto Princesa - a hidden paradise.

We ended up last minute in puerto after a typhoon hit el nido. Pros - accomodating staff - great reasonable spa place, was wonderful to get massages overlooking the pool listening to the water lapping in the bay outside -the pool was nice and chlorine free - the owner is committed to guests having a good time, we ran into him and he encouraged us to buy fresh seafood from the markets and ask the kitchen to cook it for a fee! -laidback vibe -spacious clean rooms -modest included breakfast good way to start the day Cons -Not really the hotels fault but had a horrible experience with their partner tour company for the underground river tour, as the boats werent running ended up with a six hour trek in the jungle! Tip: we booked the hotel through agoda and it wouldnt let us book the family villa for four people, better to book the villa for two and pay for the extra two people at the hotel

I have never left a hotel early but I was forced to on this occasion after just one night Firstly, despite all descriptions of the hotel listing WiFi at the hotel, the WiFi did not work during my time at the hotel and it was explained by reception staff that it may not work for the duration of my stay. I was told by staff I could use the WiFi at reception, which I opted to do. This meant I could spend no time in my room as neither the data or WiFi worked. However, I was unable to even stay at reception as I was constantly approached by stray cats and the staff failed to keep them away. This was also the case when I tried to eat my dinner and breakfast. It put me off eating my food and I ended up not eating anything that night. Due to the location of the hotel, I could not seek an alternative restaurant. The lighting in the villa was terrible. It needs more lighting. It made me feel scared to sleep there because it was too dark. The pool was dirty. When I got out the pool there was dirt all over my skin. I only saw two other guests here in the whole hotel. I have never had to leave a hotel before but I was forced to because of all these reasons. I was told I would receive a refund however it has been 3 weeks and I have still not received this.

We booked MDB at Agoda with a discount and we got lucky it was almost half the price, the original and cheapest room around here is 3K. Check their website. The driver was courteous and approachable, he was willing to wait longer with no qualms. The route was within the city but feels like away from the city, it is located in a strategic place very good for a quick out of the city. Staff are good and even gave us welcome drinks. They do not discriminate between discount-travellers and full-payers. The rooms are clean and neat, theres a frosted glass in the shower. They also place foods for sale on rooms where you can eat now and pay later in case you donโ€™t feel like going out with a refrigerator filled with drinks (non-alc and alc). The lightings are good, theres the full-blown bright lights and a romantic dim light. The place is serene, silence is beautiful. The infamous boatresto is also good but wasnโ€™t open so I canโ€™t drop an honest review on that. The resto serves food till 10 PM with last call at 9:30. The resto is decorated with paintings that are quite good and pleasing to the eyes. They also have a small infinity pool where you can have a great view of the sea. With regards to the food, it was one of the many things I enjoyed there. Delicious. Periodt. And who would forget the dinner at the hilltop-type resto where we can see the city lights? It was one of the best. Calling it sweet is an understatement, the view is very nice with very cool air and no noise. Loved it so much. The staff is easy to talk to and they also dropped us off. The place will be something I would return to if finances allows ๐Ÿ˜‚ Notes: โœ”๏ธPalawan has the local niknik that bites and leaves dark marks when scratched so wear pajamas outside. โœ”๏ธThe pool is in the open field so some insects might share it with you in the evening.

We have decided to spend our Mothers Day here since they have a great offer on their Boat cabins. (M/V Virginia) We were a total of 9 Adults and 5 kids (occupied 2 cabin rooms). And the rooms were amazingly spacious. The kids had no problem running around. The pool had a great view but a bit shallow (4feet is the deepest). Great for kids! ๐Ÿ˜ Though, the night lights were off and stayed off even at night. There was nothing else to do but swim and sleep and eat probably ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ (Haven't tried the spa, massage or whatever they were offering at that time) The restaurant and the pool closes at 10pm, so there's nothing more to do by that time. Wouldn't recommend the set meal breakfast. Please do something about it. Overall, this won't be on out "to-go-back" list.
