I stayed here for two months and it was the worst experience I have ever encountered in all my years of travel. I had to pay extra for the room wifi, but was given my neighbors password to use, the TV only had one channel working and the room was extremely dusty. And to make matters worse, it has been over 8 weeks since I checked out and they still haven't returned my security deposit. I have been in contact with the local police and the Beijing hospitality complaints hotline with no success. After doing some research online it turns out this hotel is infamous for stealing the security deposits of foreigners in hopes they give up fighting for it once they return back to their own country. I am now in the process of commencing legal action. I strongly recommend you don't stay here..

You're undoubtedly staying at this hotel because you're visiting the universities and its absolutely ideally located for that. It is a bit tatty around the edges in the rooms, but all things you might end up finding in a European chain hotel as well. The corner Executive rooms are huge - I was upgraded to one of these because they couldn't immediately accommodate me with an early check in. The a/c was still on in September and it just about coped, room maybe ~23C. The staff had quite enough English for me to check in / out, order some food and drink, find the gym, what more are people after? The gym is small, 3 treadmills, one bike, some weights, and you get to it via a mystery tour through various conference rooms and the spa. Beware the slight freaky attendant who closely supervises you getting changed... All a bit comical,.

Cons: one of the lobby boys ripped me off when I asked for a taxi by ordering one on his phone, having me pay me directly, and then overcharging me. I expected scammers on China, but not at my hotel. The rooms are also extremely dated and none of the staff speak decent English (even worse than most hotels). Pros: good location, decent breakfast. Overall, you are better off staying somewhere else, no matter how convenient the location of this hotel might seem.

We had a great experience at the Wenjin hotel. Even with the language barrier, staff were extremely helpful and always went out of their way to try and assist you with your requests. The breakfast offers a great menu and all fo the food was fresh and good, including the fruit and salads. The two traditional Chinese restaurants are also very good at the hotel. The room was very nice and was cleaned daily. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting this area of town.

Check-in, check-out, concierge, breakfast all were great, we had a comfortable stay with very friendly staff. Simon at concierge was excellent. He gave me great tips on drinks, purchasing stuff and show me the supermarkets near by. Hotel facilities were great, people are friendly and the location was great for our trip purpose. It is a little far from city center, but the location is between 2 good universities and too many students around so it was great for speaking English & getting help right away.

Nice restaurants. Dated rooms, and no aircon when room temp around 30C. A lobby boy tried to scam me into a illegal "rip-off" car service when I asked help to get a taxi to the airport. I figured it out when he pretended to book it with his phone app but refused to show me the booking on his phone.

Room Tip: Pick up a room face east, so it won't heat up too much during no aircon season.

This is the only hotel serving two major universities and a science park. The hotel therefore has a captive clientele and it shows. Reception and management is really third-rate for an international hotel. Really slow, no one at the desks speaks English and they completely messed up our reservations. We stayed a total of 3 weeks, first week, then one week out travelling and returning for a further 2 weeks. First they checked me into a superior room without telling me. It was lovely. Then when my husband checked in a week later, we got a shock when we showed up for breakfast and were rudely informed that he had to pay for his breakfast at 88 RMB (about USD 15) per day. So a double room does not include 2 breakfasts ! Unheard of in any other hotel I have stayed in four continents. There was absolutely no information in the room about this breakfast rule, times of breakfast or any other hotel services, eg the gym. Nor any information available about Beijing tourist sites, transport, how to order a taxi etc. Even basic 2 and 3 star hotels usually provide some information about the hotel services, their costs and local facilities. Then when we returned to this hotel after a week out, they did not honour the reservation we had made for the same type of room but on a much lower floor to access better wifi (yes, on the 15th floor wifi rarely works and I had to use my UK internet service - no problem except very expensive - but can get BBC and Google etc.). Checking in the 2nd time look one hour, arguing with the desk staff about the room reservation, which we finally were denied. Senior management should intervened and offered us the upgrade, as the university was paying this hotel for a room for 3 weeks, as managers know this generates good will and good reviews. Sadly, there is no good management at this hotel. The one really bright star in our bad experience was Simon, who is the concierge/duty manager. He stepped in on each occasion, trying to sort out our problems with his excellent English, but he was powerless to sort out the reservation problem. The reception desk staff were unfriendly and confused, and they prevailed. I cannot recommend this hotel to international guests.

This was the 5 star hotel build by Tsinghua University, one of the nice places to stay in Beijing. However it is totally mismanaged. The place is full with visitors of various training programs on campuses. They are loud and often drunk. The service is subpar, the wifi slow and the gym located in the most weird place in the hotel. The breakfast was also bad. A total disappointment and will avoid in the future.

I booked a room on the Executive floor to use the lounge (website promises breakfast, snacks, drinks, and a place to sit and work), but the Executive Lounge is no longer open. The furniture in the room is dated, hot iron stains on the counter, broken arm on the desk chair, mold in the shower, stinky smell coming from the toilet. The WiFi is very slow and drops out often. The A/C doesn't work (despite 27C / 80F in the room). However, the bed was decent (comfortable, a bit on the firm side relative to western standards but not hard like many in China), and the location next to Tsinghua Univ and close to Peking Univ is the primary positive.
