As soon as we arrived, it was just a magical experience. We have stayed at many high-end luxury hotels over the years but I never truly experienced the level of service as I did at the Olare Mara. Philip our bush tour guide was absolutely amazing, I think he should be on TV maybe even host a National Geographic episode. He knows so much... Dominic, the camp manager is always on point, he is so well-spoken and always makes sure we were 100% taken care of. I actually wish he would come to the states and train hotel staff here LOL. Moses is in charge of the restaurant but should be the assistant manager he always knew how our days were going and what we saw, I think they all meet and update each other on how the drives go. The rooms are so cool, it's a luxury tent but with hardwood floors and soaking tubs. At night you can hear the animal kingdom doing its thing... it's crazy! It's like sleeping in NYC but instead of taxi cabs, you hear hippos LOL. It was amazing. I really can't express in words how much I loved this trip... I love the Masai Mara, seeing the animals in the wild was... WILD! Long story short, stay here and make sure to speak to everyone I guarantee you will make friends!

Property's Favourite Review
I have lost count on the number of times we have been to this property. There is always thought that may be this one time try another place but then when you have been spoilt so rotten with luxury service you just let it be and return to the one place that you can call home. Home away from home is the feeling one gets when at Olare Mara Kempenski. On arrival the love and warmth that radiates from the entire team to the aromatic smells of the kitchens welcoming you that Chef David, Chef Jacob and team have prepared, Dominic, Jarius and their entire team including Terere celebrating your visit (not just for us for everyone)........Moses, Kelvin and Kilion ready to serve you drinks of your choice one is just spoilt for choices You feel under the weather - Moses makes the most amazing dawa's..........they are an addiction. Kelvin and Kilion are so caring. Chef David and Chef Jacob and team - just a few extra kilos added on the waistline I need not say more However, this time the one person who touched our heart was Housekeeping Paul - he is such a wonderful soul - bless him, he that person who is behind the scene and you hardly ever see him and just interacting with him this time as we chose to stay in our tent and have dinner and was turn down time, just seeing him work silently with no interruption and stealthy and there was this constant smile on him that made us realise he really enjoys what he does I thank the Management and Team of Olare for doing a good job in ensuring their staff are looked after as that smile only comes from satisfaction and appreciation from your employers. We had a great time in the park thank you to Raphael as our normal guide Philip was not there, Danson and Erick also came in to support - they were great - they have such great synchrony and synergy that ensure all guests get to see everything - sometimes I wonder to the guides at Olare Mara have special noses to sniff what animal especially cat are where? Thank you Dominic for a steering the Olare Mara ship in the right direction, you are doing a fantastic job and no matter what the temptations to go any where else your hospitality drives us back time and again Thank you and kudos to all

Each and every morning, there was nothing better than being greeted by the wonderful staff at the Olare Mara Kempinski. From the moment we first arrived, we were welcomed by Philip, who was an absolute amazing tour guide throughout our entire stay. Dominic, the manager, we always very pleasant, made time each day to cross paths with us to say hello and special thanks are due to Moses and Kelvin who work in the main restaurant. After our first meal, both knew our names, would always greet us with a smile and ask how our day was. The staff at this resort are the true reasons our stay will always be a cherished memory. As for the hotel itself, I must admit, although it definitely has some really great features, there are quite a few items that have been overlooked or less important to the ownership. Although the rooms initially look quite nice-after all, they are situated in the middle of a Conservatory- there are areas for improvement. Since my husband and I were celebrating an overdue honeymoon, we splurged on the Honeymoon Suite. I do NOT recommend this room to anyone. At first, I was amazed by the hippos in the background of our room but very quickly, the all-day horrendous smell (feces being warmed in the African sun all day-in stagnant shallow, water) began to make me nauseous. I was so glad to change rooms after our second night at the resort! Also before you book this room, know that the hippos are very loud at night. I got little to no sleep our first night due to the all night hippo squealing (they are nocturnal). Of course, some people would book this room specifically for this experience-it was not for me. Additionally, the lighting in the bathroom is mediocre and the in-suite pool was so cold, it was unusable. See notes below about bugs in room. On our third night, as we were walking back to our room from dinner (escorted by a staff member since it is so dark on property-they look in bush for any nearby animals), we were all attacked by fire ants-or locally called Safari Ants. We ended up going back to the lobby, being asked to change out of our clothing and into robes and slippers so the staff could wash out our ant infested shoes and clothing. We were asked if we wanted to go back to our tent that night (they said they cleared all the ants) but we declined. I am glad we decided against this, as the Safari ants were still there in the morning! We ended up having a very late night, passing on our morning Safari, slept in a room with no clothing, bags, medications — only to receive many heart-felt apologies from the staff (which we did appreciate) but no other compensation other than a bottle of wine in our room the last night. Our hippo room the following morning was filled with ants and other critters on the bed, pillows in the netting and the ground. Which brings me to a few other areas of improvement: upon arrive at the airstrip (which is an experience in itself), we were welcomed by Philip and welcome champagne! A wonderful surprise. Only to learn, back at the resort, the complementary drink options were 1 white wine selection, 1 red or 2 beers (one of which they said wasn’t cold half our stay-we assume they were out of it. And both beer options were very weak at 4.3% content). They had vodka, whiskey and perhaps a few other options. I personally didn’t really care for the white wine but had no other wine options to chose from. At a self-proclaimed luxury resort, this was disappointing. First impressions. The resort is very clean. However, in the lobby bathroom I would wash my hands and drying with towels that were almost as thin as toilet paper! If they are trying to conserve on paper consumption they should consider small, cotton towels that can be rewashed or better quality paper towels. The leather chairs on the deck needed to be replaced at least 2 or 3 years ago. They are so sun-warped, they look terrible. The evening meals were always very quiet despite every table filled in the dining room. They should have light dinner music playing as an easy fix! An additional very severe need for improvement are the main roads throughout the camp. Philip, an amazing guide and driver, would have to slow down for every pot hole and rock/boulder along the way- they jokingly call this an African Massage. For those considering a stay with a bad back, Or older, I don’t recommend this reserve at all. We were told the roads were last worked on 3 years ago. Due to Covid, paying the Maasai for leasing their land to the resorts became the priority instead of fixing the roads. Overall, I would say that we enjoyed most of our stay at Olare, but would likely consider other options if we were to return. If you are looking for a decent resort, with wonderful people, this may be a great option for you, but I wouldn’t consider it super luxury.

Wow. First time to Africa. Highly recommend this camp! Great food. Great service and staff. Beautiful and comfortable safari like rooms. Exceeded all my expectations. Oh, and the animals were amazing. We saw so many animals: lions and their cubs, cheetahs, leopards, antelope, baboons, ostrich, and the list goes on.
