This place was GORGEOUS. My husband and I loved it. Staff was always kind and eager to help, food was good and varied. Security seemed vigilant. Woke up to zebras in the field outside out tent. Really truly amazing considering it's all tents. Also they do same-day laundering free of charge, which was very much needed by the time we arrived!
We visited Zebra plains with my Family, 4 adults, 3 teenagers and 1 baby. It was my 2nd time to visit Zebra plains. We had such a fantastic stay. From the entrance, time within the camp to departure day the service was just world class from the loving and dedicated staff. The rooms were very spacious, highly neat and luxurious. My family enjoyed all the meals served and their bellies were always full to satisfaction. We enjoyed having our meals as we watch some of the wild animals and the beautiful nature. Zebra plains camp is a place I want to visit again and again anytime I/we are at the Mara, it's exceptional and high class. On behalf of my family, we truly appreciate & applaud all the lovely and amazing staff for making us feel home. Lots of gratitude to the location Manager, Ruth . I am truly honoured to call you a friend and a mentor for your exceptional team work, humility and timely service, keep up the good work. We can't wait to be back and continue enjoying the serenity and beauty of Zebra plains. We hope to have a maasai warrior traditional dances next time, that would be so lovely. Blessings!!!!!…
We booked the more expensive safari option staying at Zebra Plains, thinking it is right at the park and looking forward to some fine dining. It is in fact exactly 10km from Talek gate. 10km on a partly pathetic pist. Therefor you loose quite some time of your game drive. The rooms/tents are very nice, clean and large. Showers work fine and there are toileteries. They call themseves eco camp, but the electricity comes mainly from the generator, which you will quietly hear all the time exept midnight to 5am, when batteries will power the lights (not the sockets). Aparenty that shall be changed in the near future. The meals are good, but for the price of the camp definitely underwelming. They don't even have ketchup and piripiri sauce upon request, something you'll find in the least of restaurants in Kenya. Staff is attentive and very friendly, trying to make your stay enjoyable. They even washed our used shirts we left on the floor. There are nice and less expensive places to stay right at the Talek gate. Or pay more and stay in the park, where it is really luxurous and eco. They even have electric safary vehicles there. A nice place after all but in our oppinion not really worth the extra KES you pay. Even though the masks are not mandatory right now in Kenya, the staff was still wearing it. You might like this fakt, I hate it.…
I was so excited to go to Zebra Mara Plains Camp, after reading all the reviews on different platforms in the internet. Sadly the expierince we had, was opposite. We arrived late afternoon.. Tiered, dinner was for 07.30 pm, part of the group came in time, and where not served dinner until 08.30 pm. Where in the world do you need to wait for others to come, to be served your food, simple only bring the amount of food as by the amount of people sitting on the table... But the Food was not very great.... served in very cheap white plastic bowls. Soup was a drip in a Bowl, maybe they had run out of Water?? As it was only a onion soup, As most of us had booked the Balloon, we did not have Breakfast, no comments, we returned for lunch, there was nothing special of very good on that lunch. I tried to relax in the tent in the afternoon, but it heat's up so much, that it was not possible to relax. I went to the reception area, the table next to the bar, was not possible to sit, full of flies. A simple fan and the flies would go away?? In the room it would cool a little. The finishishing of the bathrooms seem to be the cheapest one can find in a store. The shower refused to close after several times it closed, the water seems to be a problem in the camp. The Toilet very low (Children toilet) Cheap Board around the Water basin... Internet was an issue. We had booked and paid three single rooms, they where put together in a family Tent. Very close to each other.... The gentleman was very upset to share almost with two single lady s he is not very close to.... The Manager, I am sorry, she is not a manager, the camp staff is missing a proper manager, who gives clear instructions, for staff to understand and follow.…
