I have been a frequent client at Kipepeo for over a year now. It ia a preferable meeting joint with friends.
I have consistently noticed a change in their services and food. About two months ago, we ordered for masala Chips and chicken and we were told that the potatoes' supplier had not yet delivered, on asking on whether we could wait for about an hour we were told that they wouldn't be delivered that day. After a short while another client was served and on her plate was chips.
I love Sarah's porridge but it's quality is just something else, there's something totally wrong.
You might be losing your loyal clients. Look into your food and service.

I always have a transit through Nairobi and look out for Hotels where I can sleep sound and catch my morning flight fresh.

This Hotel was good in that sense. Though a little noisy because of the restaurant downstairs but the noise dies down or may be I was too tired to hear it!!. The room was small but I had a very comfortable bed and heated water in the shower which mattered most.
The staffs were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was ready at 5:30 in the morning and the staff insisted me to have it and leave the hotel, which was sweet and quite professional.

I would recommend this place

Poor service. Poor breakfirst.mosquito all over the hotel .Strange men hange arround . Not safty. Lunch or dinner cheap outside and best in taste and quality. I ate out in town for low coast. Lot of mosquto in side resturant bar & hotel . They should invest on mosquito net and motin to pulg it. I used it in my room No lift .

Single woman, 82 yrs old, traveling solo, and having been flying or in transit for over 60 hours!
On my way out of customs, I heard the usual call "TAXI" and paused to say I had to find out where to go before taking a taxi. As it turned out, this was a service to get you into a taxi at a standard rate, rather than having to bargain. They also had listings for hotels at every rate, and managed to convince me to go to this hotel. I was welcomed very nicely, and all service has been friendly and efficient. The room itself - ? Bed is clean and very comfortable. Good lighting. Enough room for one person. The only flaw is in the bathroom. It's very cramped, old and poorly designed, and no shower curtain. But it is clean and useable. There's no lift and lots of stairs. Breakfast is included. And $50 for a night is a good price in Nairobi.

I splashed out on Kipepeo at the end of my last trip to Nairobi, where I usually stay at a budget place closeby. Kipepeo is solidly in the 3 star bracket with clean and nicely decorated rooms. Rooms and bathrooms are a bit on the small side but in line with room sizes elsewhere in downtown.

Staff were helpful and their restaurant is reasonably priced with good buffet and juices. Note that this hotel is in DOWNTOWN Nairobi, which some overseas visitors may find hectic. The hotel is ideally placed for transit and arrival/departure by bus. Note that rates can get expensive in high season.

I visited Kenya on business and stopped overnight in Nairobi on the way in and out of the country. I stayed at the Hotel Kipepeo on both occasions and can recommend it if you're looking for a safe, clean and budget place to sleep. The staff provided a very high level of service, including effectively resolving a minor mix-up with my booking, which I'd made online less than 48 hours before arriving.

The location is ideal if you want to be in the centre of the city and, contrary to others' comments, this is a safe place to stay. Unfortunately, the fact the some inexperienced travellers simply 'feel' unsafe in unfamiliar situations has nothing to do with the real security situation and is definitely not a reason to downgrade the review of the Hotel. None of the earlier reviews actually provide any evidence for their negative comments concerning security. I walked around alone at night and felt completely safe.

Unlike many more modern Hotels, it's possible to open the windows to allow in fresh air. Moreover, there are very effective fitted mosquito nets suspended above the beds so you don't have to worry about being bitten at night. I slept in a room at both the front and the back of the Hotel. The back room was certainly quieter and had a good view out over the city, but I had no problem getting a refreshing sleep in the front room too.

I found a very reliable Taxi Driver who is attached to the Hotel. I used him on several occasions and, with a bit of bargaining, he provided a very efficient and reliable service. His name is Izac Mairani and his mobile number is: +254 722 445 964.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back on the higher floors are quieter and have a good view over the City.

Wow..just, wow. The room was very expensive for the ghetto. Dirty sheets, bug net did not even cover both beds. No hot water in the room. I told the staff there was no hot water and all I got was an apology. I exited my room at 3am and found a staff member right outside my door which made me very uncomfortable. I exited the room at 4am to find another staff member stalking my room. My Mother was staying in the room next door. I knocked on her door and the stalking staff member was about 3 inches from me listening to me talk to my mother. To call it a flea bag motel is an understatement. It was down right creepy.
