Comfortable airbnb walkable distance from the UN and the Village Market. Large rooms and helpful and friendly staff. Best to book directly with them to avoid overpaying. Breakfast is simple but freshly prepared. Can also walk 10 minutes to the Village Market for delicious almond, chocolate and raisin croissants and other fresh bakeries.

It is exactly as you see online. The staff are warm and receptive. If you are an outdoor person and on a budget, choose this place. I stayed a whole eleven nights and not once did I think of shifting. Will definitely return.

This is one horrible places to visit with extremely uncouth Ms. Winnie from Reception, Extremely foul-mouthed and rude (we were chased out by being told GET OUT). No business ethics whatsoever. No water on property and you will also be told to pay for water. No lights on property. No working power sockets almost everywhere on property. Individual Rating: Property *** Staff (Winnie) - Staff (Francine) ** Basic Amenities (Water, Power, Utensils) * NOT RECOMMENDED!!!

A nice and cozy place situated in the diplomat area of Nairobi and a walking distance to the Village Mall. The security in this area is excellent and one can walk around without any fear. The staff were friendly and service was good. But a little more maintenance on the hot water aspect would be good.

Booked for 2 days to decompress from flight; have a swim and be near Village Market etc.Allowed an early check-in. Nice grounds/Secure. Friend joined my 2nd day/same reason. Good news: people, especially chef, are helpful/fetched meds for me;; selection of western t.v.; not far from UN or Village Market. Negatives: my room was behind the kitchen/worst property location (no patio; view etc)/''amenities' were fictional (kitchen/no dishes--even drinking glasses; electric tea kettle w/out adapter required to operated etc. These are management issues. View and negotiate your room on property (too jet lagged to bother).

The Cottage is a well organized, simply run and charming guesthouse. Some rooms are much less comfortable than others so you might want to ask which ones have been reserved for you. Situated in Gigiri, it is in a very calm neighborhood. Personnel is very amicable and the breakfast buffet is nice.

The Cottage was a perfect stop for me, within walking distance of the UN compound, where I was attending a conference. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was clean and neat, and the food was always fresh and delicious. I didn’t make use of the pool as it was cold and raining, but the grounds look well kept and clean. It was also nice to be away from the bustle of the city centre, but the nearby mall was only a 10min walk away so access to shops and restaurants was easy. Please keep up the high standards!!

The cottage house has a kind of homely feeling and the staff adds to this feeling. Its a bit difficult to find on google maps but once you are there, you will be welcomed into a home. The whole neighbour hood is very safe, used to walk all the way upto the UN compound with no issues. Great place for a short business visit.

Convenient for business travelers visiting Nairobi for the UN conference purposes.Walking distance to the UN compound (10-13 min) Clean and comfortable room. They gave me a bigger room than the standard single room for which I have initially made a reservation. Very polite staff. The hotel arranged for me late (2am) shuttle from the airport to the hotel.(payed 30US$) The breakfast could be improved. All in all, a pleasant experience.

After getting conformation from Booking.com and even calling them by phone long distance from Egypt to choose the room, I arrive there and they tell me They have no room for me because one of the guests extended his stay for one day. They move me to the annex of another guest house in the vicinity. I spend one night out of my suitcase unsettled of course, then I have to work. They promise that my suitcase will be moved to my reserved room during the day. I come back at 7:30pm and my suitcase is at is standing in the annex. I had also reserved another room to a work colleague and he suffers the same fate. They apologised and promised this will be resolved the second day, but the same happened again and finally I told them to forget it and wrote to booking.com expressing my dissatisfaction and continued my stay at the other guest house. The ultimate was that they still wanted to charge me the same price while the place where they moved me actually had lower rates!!!! Will never go there again.
