This is a fantastic camp. Rooms are clean and large. They are very luxurious. The staff is spectacular. Everyone was accommodating and friendly. The food was tasty. The local safari just outside the camp is loaded with animals. They are a short drive to the national park. We loved sitting on the porch with a glass of wine and watching an antelope frolicking with a pack of baboons. Do yourself a favor and book this camp!

This is one of the oldest hotels but its has retained its allure and beauty and service. Please don't change the management. It is within the city centre making it accessible to get to the place you need in town thats why I stay here. The beds are very comfy and the room amenities are up to standard. The food not so great and overpriced not worth the money( as per my policy whenever I stay in a 5* hotel I don't eat at the restaurants coz the food is terrible) sometimes I try coz I go there to chat with the staff or sometimes when entertaining my guests and they opt for the food but I always prefer to eat outside at stand alone restaurants. My 2 issues, whenever there's a prominent person on the premises which happens frequently, you get shoved out of the way like a nobody yet you are also a paying a guest (it happened to me twice and I did't see it happening to the white folks) at some point I stayed my ground but still had to move out of the way but had a laugh with it later with the staff. I know its out of the management's control but the racial profiling is not cool, Us being there in the premises means we are entitled to be there coz we paid to be there. We come all the way from abroad to support our own. Second complaint, my second time at the restaurant I received zero service as there was a celebrity who everyone was running to yet I spent more money than that celebrity who was only drinking water. I had to clear our table and go for our drinks by myself coz the servers were to busy to serve us (and so I tipped myself); my regular servers were missing that day! Room issue is only the bathroom with the bathtubs, please place 2 bathrugs as the water slips out and wets the floor hence a safety harzard someone might slip. Now, the service was top notch; from security to the housekeeping attendants as they all recognized me though didn't get everyone's name but the following made my stay memorable and I will come back because of the service; D. Kush and Anne M. at the reception were my favorite, Caleb driver who picked us from the airport though he was grumpy coz he had to wait long for us, Simon bellman, Mary at breakfast who served my egg order ( that reminds me if you are ordering eggs stick to the simple ones like omelet and scrambled) , Belinda, Diana at the dessert counter, Virginia cafe Maghreb, Joyce(breakfast), John concierge, Robert concierge, Nick, Victor, Jackson hsk(ensured I had all my requirements in the room), Mikwa John, Fred reception, Momanyi reception (also top 3), Boaz bellman, Thomas doorman, theres another doorman i've forgotten his name, Fridah (another favorite very polite and patient), Ambrose, Charity, Eunice M. Gabriel T. John K. (Aksum Bar), David M. (Aksum bar), Hannington, Stephen. If I've forgotten your name and we interacted, see you next time. PS; if you are black, be nice and tip nicely otherwise don't blame the service. I'll be back soon!

There are a lot of "special arrangements with staff" for you to get a service. Parking for a resident client is hard to find unless you bribe the Security personnel(Seneca). In the hotel, you can't get what you've asked for unless you talk nicely to waiters. My worst experience is not being served Mango juice because it was reserved for "special clients". Kindly serve your clients well and with respect.

As a second generation client staying at Serena around East Africa for more than 40 years, I equate Serena with exceptional and unrivaled guest experiences. So while the Christmas buffet lunch was lavish and very tasty, it was strange to see Serena Nairobi overwhelmed and not consistently deliver. It was not clear why Serena chose to have only 1 lunch buffet station to cater for the very many lunch guests present, which resulted in queues and delays in food replenishment. Nor were there tea or coffee stations strategically situated for guests to easily self-serve, so simple requests took long to fulfil. The location of the live band could also have been more guest sensitive - surely those who had to sit next to it and near it struggled with the loud volume. But in case all this should have been sadly expected, Serena deserves criticism when it came to the kids entertainment - why would Serena use an external vendor that did not seem to meet Serena's high safety standards: A jumping castle that on several occasions was collapsing with frightened kids inside, and the vendor staff blaming the kids; (parents eventually insisted that it be closed down for safety reasons). Or the trampoline, where the tops of the metal posts became exposed and some of the posts collapsing inwards, all a hazard to the jumping children. @General Manager Anthony Chege - it is unfortunate you were not present on one of the biggest festive days of the year. Please do better and consistently uphold Serena's gaint reputation of delivering above and beyond on guest expectations; we are the generation who very fondly know and remember retired CEO Mr. Mahmud 'Jan' Mohamed - so well known for his exceptionally rigorous and unambiguously high standards of customer service excellence and perfection.

The hotel is situated in the center of Nairobi, close to key government institutions and Kenyatta International Conference Center. With the new highway built, it is comfortable 30 minutes ride to and from the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, as well as Wilson Airport for domestic flights. Rooms are comfortable and well appointed and service is very attentive and high standard. Restaurants and room service are good quality. Concierge is very helpful to attend to any needs, such as transport, sightseeing etc. Highly recommended for business and leisure.

Tired after a long flight which came in after midnight, we were quickly registered and went to our rooms exhausted. We slept well on very comfortable beds, and encountered no major problems. Frankly we were so tired we could have slept on the floor! Next day we had an adequate breakfast, after which we explored some Nairobi sights. when we returned after a full day's sightseeing, once again off to bed. All in all, neither complaints nor medals for this Serena.

Stayed here for 2 nights on arrival in Nairobi. First night was very late. Hotel is about half hour from international airport. Very comfortable rooms with all amenities Good sized room, nicely decorated, with excellent bathroom and all facilities. everything we needed in the room. We were exhausted after the fight from Miami via London to Nairobi, so we don't remember much about the first night. Hotel and room is decked out in African colors, burnt oranges, brown, creams and golds. Room has a safe and mini bar, good storage area and nice view from the picture window. Pool, bar, gym, restaurant and breakfast restaurant are all available. Breakfast is buffet and good quality with a lot of choices. Room service is also available. Front desk was very helpful and friendly. Security is high level. guards on gated entry and metal detectors are used. Luggage is also put through metal detectors when you enter the hotel. All the hotels have this. All in all this is a good quality hotel for a Nairobi trip, before or after safari

I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights with a group of co-workers, and then stayed a few additional nights as part of a vacation with my husband. From the service and the food, to the pool and the spa - even the gift shop - everything was fantastic. The property is beautiful and well-maintained and every staff member is extremely welcoming, kind, and helpful. I highly recommend Nairobi Serena Hotel and will stay there again if I am fortunate enough to find myself in Kenya again.

We went for safari and prior to flying to the Masai Mara we stayed here. The hotel was chosen by our tour leader who has extensive experience in Kenya. The hotel is a beautiful place to use as a base while in Nairobi. The desk staff was very professional, courteous and friendly. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. There is a very nice and reasonably-priced gift shop on the premises. They offer an extensive breakfast buffet daily. Food was delicious. We stayed there again after our safari for a few hours and were able to use all of the facilities even though we weren't staying for the night.
