My husband and I stayed at Kweza B&B for a week. We booked the B&B because it was close to where our son was staying with an organization he was working with.

Kweza contacted us to ask if we wanted pick up from the airport. We did, and our driver met us there and got us safely to the hotel. The first night we stayed in a small room on the reception level. The next day, after walking around and checking out rooms, we asked if we could move to a bigger room (increase in price of course). They moved us to room 15 on the 2nd floor. We had a king size bed and balcony. The road traffic was a bit noisy but we travel with a noise machine (hubby) and ear plugs (me).

We enjoyed the room service breakfast every day. The rooftop bar and restaurant was a nice treat.. My husband is vegetarian and there were several yummy bean dishes to chose from.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. We arranged to take 2 day tours and were happy with our driver guide. We walked to the National Museum and the Railroad Museum from the B&B. There is a supermarket .3 miles away.

All in all it was a good value for the price and we are glad we stayed in a "non-touristy" neighborhood. Very interesting. We did not leave the B&B after dark, but we understand that is commonsense no matter where you stay in Nairobi.

I travelled solo in Kenya for two+ months with multiple stops in Nairobi in between adventures outside of the city.

Every time I came back I wanted to come back to my Khweza. I must have stayed here at least 7 times for 2-5 nights at a time.

The rooms are simple and nice and basically all you need for budget travelling. The included breakfast was always really nice and they offered cleaning service for my clothes for a fair price.

But the MAIN thing is the lovely staff who were always helpful, always smiling and so much joy and good vibes. So I knew I could always have a good time only by having conversations with the wonderful staff.

There also were many young energetic travellers coming and going + fun Nairobi locals I met who came there for a dinner or the bar.

The location is good for experience of real Nairobi and very easy to get ubers from the front door.

The price is very good in my opinium for the room + breakfast so I highly recommend this place for adventure travellers and would always come here if travelling to Nairobi again!

This is a very nice place to stay at while in Nairobi. At daytime the city center is within walking distance, at night time it is better to use a cab even though it is close. Staff are careful and always helpful, rooms are clean and well appointed, and the breakfast options (one has to choose the day before, also stating the time) are welcome. Rooms facing towards Ngara Road are noisy (even though the road tends to get quieter after 10 PM or so) and one needs be a bit careful with the location at night. There are a couple of very good, budget local restaurants just a few steps from the guesthouse.

The best perk of Khweza Bed & Breakfast is its staff! All amazing individuals that will make feel as if at home. At the reception, the kitchen, the bar, the cleaning staff, all made it so that your stay is as pleasant as possible with the best attitude. I stayed there for about a week in a single bed room, with queen size bed, armoire, table, and private bathroom. Since it was closer to the back of the building it wasn't noisy at all even in the morning when traffic starts moving.
While there, I asked to do the city tour and I was paired up with the in-house guide Junior, and got a private tour of the city. Some things were opened like the Nairobi National Musuem, and got to see some of the non-touristy places as well, giving you a nice perspective of this vibrant city.
Junior, was also my Safari guide! I booked a 5-day Safari with Khweza and it didn't disappoint. Junior is a skilled driver in the city and in the Savannah.

My boyfriend and I have been in Kenya in the beginning of June22 for 2 1/2 weeks and booked Khwza Bed&Breakfast for our first nights in Nairobi. The hostel itself is not in the best condition anymore but it definitely has its own vibe. The rooftop terrace is pretty cool, we had our breakfast almost every morning up there. Breakfast (eggs in different variations, pancakes, beans, toast, fruits etc.) was very decent as well. Running water was always available except for once when they had run out of water and it took them from morning - afternoon to fill up the tanks. Hot water was sometimes accessible, not very often tho. We also ended up booking our safari tour with Junior who works at the reception of the hostel. He took us on an amazing 3 days trip to the National Park Masai Mara. We’ve seen so many beautiful animals thanks to Junior. He was determined and relentless in finding the animals for us, which is not an easy task as the park is massive. But through experience and passion, Junior made it all possible and we can only say, if you’re looking for a guide, who also feels like a friend, at least for us, then he is your guy. The camp is really cute and our “tent” was very very spacious, I did not know what to expect, but it was definitely not this. Kenya has been an extraordinary host and we can definitely recommend Khwze. Apart from those things mentioned above it is a cool place to stay :)

Big thank you to the guys & girls from Khweza B&B who made our trip to Kenya soo enjoyable.

We chose khweza based on the reviews and I can tell you they are really going the extra mile to make sure you are happy.

From getting picked up in the middle of the night from the airport to arranging an awesome safari in the masai Mara - khweza has you covered.

Also the place, the food and especially the rooftop are super nice.

Biggest thanks to Fred and Junior - you guys rock, I will always remember our spontaneous roof top party session ;)

Definitely staying there again when I'm back in Nairobi.

Clemens & Carla

I had an phenomenal experience at Khweza B+B! The staff was so welcoming and extremely friendly! It was my first stop on my first solo travel experience when I stayed here. The rooms were clean and the shower was amazing! I felt so safe here and the staff treated me like family! There were several occasions I accidentally showed up after kitchen was closed and they went out of there way to make me food because they didn’t want to send me to bed hungry! The food was delicious Joshua and Collins were fantastic chiefs! On my last night they even had a bonfire on the rooftop for me!! Speaking of the roof, I could hang out up there all day it’s so beautiful. They also have an amazing safari leader who is so fun and down to earth! I have so much gratitude for the staff here. Highly highly recommend making this your first choice for a hostel in Nairobi!!

We only stayed one night as we had a 24 hour layover in Nairobi before flying back to the UK.
The hotel is well located and a 10 minute walk to Nairobi CBD.
The rooms are basic and clean and what you would expect for the price. The shower wasn't great, but functional and adequate for a night or two.
The roof bar and restuarant is a great place to have a beer or a tasty meal.
The staff are amazing. They will go out of their way to make your stay a pleasant one.
We were leaving at 6am for our flight so we were to miss breakfast, but the staff member Danny insisted on making us a light breakfast of fruits, toast and coffee at 5:30am so we didn't go to the airport on empty stomachs. I would definitely stay again for a night or two.

Khweza is a popular budget B&B, close to the Nairobi city centre. The accommodation is in four story building with an open central atrium. There is no elevator. Rooms are very basic and small, but have ensuites and hot shower. Staff are friendly and helpful, especially in the rooftop bar. Breakfast is ordered the night before and is quite substantial considering it is free. It is served at the rooftop terrace restaurant and bar. Dinners are inexpensive and popular. There are a s number of eateries nearby, including the Swahili cafe a five minute walk along Ngara Rd.
Ngara Road is quite grungy and unattractive.

The best of this hostel is the Staff, from the guy at reception desk to the ones at the kitchen!! They have the best attitude!!

Room was clean with big bathroom with hot water.

Location could be better because there is not to much around but 10 minutes walking you’ll be at business area.

The roof top gives a nice view and the breakfast is more than i expected!! With fruits omelet..etc.
