We happened to be transferred from another hotel to Movenpick when the original booking fell through. We could not be more delighted. Security was tight, which reassured us considerably, but more importantly the staff was the most gracious and helpful I have encountered. Everyone, to a person, was pleasant, accommodating, eager to assist, and uniformly interested in our comfort and enjoyment. The restaurants in the facility were delightful and worth visiting. The rooms were spacious, modern, with plenty of lighting, outlets, water pressure (though be aware of a cycle in the shower of moving from hot to warm), amenities, and especially the surprising and delectable treats placed for us each evening. The only drawback to us was that the pool was being renovated! There was easy access to a nice mall. The neighborhood is upgrading and there is much construction which promises the tourist more options. The view from The View is great! While it is a bit far from the airport, and I recommend strongly one plan to leave the hotel 4 hours in advance of the flight, Uber is reliable and less expensive than a taxi. Also, one is only minutes from the Nairobi National Museum.

I stayed for a month in a two bedroom apartment in the residences. The apartment is massive, with a large living room with two sofas and a love seat, a large dining table for six, a balcony with chairs, a kitchen and pantry and washing machine, and two bathrooms including a big bath. All spotlessly clean, and fully serviced every day. There's no air conditioning, but you don't need it anyway. The kitchen is fine to cook in, and the hotel gladly provided me with extra pans and a toaster when I requested them. Breakfast is high quality and varied. The spa has a sauna and steam that's free to guests.

But the best part was towards the end of my stay. I decided to have a birthday party for 20 guests, and the hotel helped enormously. They suggested they bring in extra furniture for the party, so we had six sofas and lots more balcony chairs, and they supplied plenty of glasses, plates and cutlery. They couldn't have been more helpful, and not only did they not charge me anything extra, but the housekeeping team gave me a lovely bunch of flowers, and the guest services team some personalised chocolates, to wish me well at my birthday party.

Service was top-drawer throughout my stay, and it really felt personalised. Special thanks to Nyaguthii in the restaurant who was a bright spot at breakfast each day, taking a genuine interest in my time in Nairobi. To Steve in guest services, who really couldn't do enough to help, his hand was involved in the background to make my stay effortless. And to Quinta and her daily spotless housekeeping with a friendly smile. Everyone I met took pride in offering great service.

When in Nairobi I usually stay in an Airbnb apartment nearby, but it was being renovated. For just a little more, this apartment had all the added creature comforts of being part of an upscale hotel chain. I'll be back!

I was there with my wife to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Without insistence from my side, guest relations staff had already decorated the room accordingly, which was a great and pleasant surprise. The rooms are spacious and well furnished with a comfortable bed. The bathroom was also great. Staff are friendly and attentive. With a location close to the heart of the town, this hotel sure offers great value for money and I can only warmly recommend it. Also take the time to have a meal in the restaurant “The view” which offers great food in a revolving restaurant that offers spectacular views of the city.

If you're visiting Nairobi there is no finer hotel to stay at than this one. The hotel is absolutely beautiful in design. The color and artwork featured in the lobby and restaurants make you want to buy the art/furniture and take it home with you. We stayed here as part of a tour package for Gate 1 Travel, and our family enjoyed this hotel the most out of all the places we stayed. The staff were so kind and hospitable to us throughout our entire stay. They assisted with our bags and checking in and out was a breeze. When we had a few hours to spare before we needed to go the airport they kept our bags secure for us even though we'd long since checked out of the hotel. The food was amazing at both of the restaurants and I was particularly impressed with their breakfast buffet and all the options it had. We were able to try authentic Kenyan dishes from the menu and they even went so far as to have vegetarian and gluten free sections on the buffet. They had the allergens clearly listed by the foods so you'd know if there were foods that would be off-limits to you. Overall I couldn't have asked for a better hotel experience. Being back home in the US I definitely miss that warm Kenyan hospitality. Kelvin Wambura was one of the staff members that stood out in my mind as being especially friendly and helpful. The next time I go back to Nairobi this is where I will be staying.

I was pleasantly surprised at how great my stay was. I felt safe despite us being in the covid pandemic because of all the safety precautions that were taken. Everyone wore masks and sanitizer was readily available in all areas of the hotel. That rooms was quite spacious and comfortable that I found it really hard to leave. I would recommend this stay for a lovely getaway

This is a comfortable place to stay while in Nairobi. The security at the entrance is typical of most hotels here. The lobby is spacious, clean, and quiet. The front desk and lobby staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are large with a king sized bed, large bathroom with both jacuzzi and shower, TV, refrigerator, and coffee/tea maker. There are a number of plugs available for phones and laptops, and these do not require an international adaptor. My only complaint about the room had to do with the pillows. These were much too firm for my taste. There is free internet around the premises that worked very well throughout my stay. The swimming pool was undergoing renovations during our visit so it was closed. By contrast, the gym on the 22nd floor was excellent with a range of weights, stair master, rowing machine, cycle, and two treadmills, all of which were in excellent working condition. The buffet breakfast, which was included in our package, was outstanding with many healthy (and some not so healthy) options for both vegetarians and carnivores. One minor limitation was the quality of the coffee, which was strong but acidic. There is a bar on the 2nd floor near the main restaurant and two additional restaurants (a tapas restaurant on an upper floor and a fine dining option on the top of the hotel). We had a group package and the overall cost of the hotel was quite reasonable.

I have staid there with some colleges in December 2019. We arrived early and asked for an early check in, and we got told that it is possible but only in cash upfront. We have paid for it but never got any kind of receipt (60 USD per room) and the check in was quite arrogant. The food is not good in all outlets. We have tried The View and Baluba. Both not worth the money. No taste, overcooked and served on chipped plates... Breakfast was okay. Not a nice selection and bad quality cold cuts. Service was nice, especially Elizabeth and Charles from Baluba. Rooms are big but no soundproof and cleaning could be much better (lot of dust and hairs). The design is very outdated

The hotel strives to ensure your comfort, well-being and safety during your stay. From the moment you walk in, your perception changes , especially if you had assumed it was only a small hotel in Westlands, Nairobi. They have selectively chosen their decor and art pieces and the place is extremely spacious and beautiful. The rooms are HUGE and have good amenities including a gym,spa and swimming pool area. Once you walk in, you just want to stay in there and relax. Overall it gives you a sense of being at home away from home. If you are looking for a place to unwind and just get away from busy Nairobi, then Movenpick is the place. You actually forget that you are within the environs of Nairobi.A bridge runs over the swimming pool to the lawns and would be a great place for special occasions or even just a cinematic experience for the photo lovers. Also, the glimpse from ' The View' is simply breathtaking and gives you a bird's eye view of the City under the Sun.Additionally, the staff are super friendly and accomodative as they go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as you would like and are quick to address concerns or requests. The conference facilities were also top-notch with very spacious seating arrangement ( I loved this because it's COVID season and we cannot overemphasize the need to take precautions to be safe). The variety of cuisine was also very exemplary as there was always some new dish or dessert to try out every new day. It's a really great place to stay and I left feeling extremely satisfied with their services.

My experience at Movenpick was not pleasant.

In general, the rooms are nice, clean and spacious and facilities are very well kept. The hotel reopened abour a month ago. The air conditioners are not working, so we spent three bad nights at this hotel, unable to have a proper sleep.

Breakfast is also very dissapointing. Although they are not offering a full buffet, they still charge you $20 for a very basic breakfast.

When I requested them to look into the A/C, the staff was not upfront about the problem, and kept stating that they were working on it.

On the second night they admitted they had a problem, and tried to rectify by providing some fans.

A 3 star hotel experience at the price of a 5 star hotel.

We are currently in this hotel and it is going well. Staff are friendly and the place is clean. We are in an apartment - it is really spacious, has a fully fitted kitchen, outdoor washing area with washing machine, two bathrooms, a spacious living room, dining area, two bedrooms, walk-in wardrobe and a balcony. I could not have asked for more. We stayed here as we are preparing to fly to South Africa on Sunday morning, it is close to the Aga Khan hospital for our covid tests and about 30 mins from the airport. DSTV in rooms as well, which has been great. The wifi is super fast! The food has not been amazing here, breakfast was pretty average, as was our lunch yesterday. Food is also pretty expensive, 2000 for a burger, which is a lot for Kenya. The pool is cold (it says that it is heated, but it doesn't feel like it), but it is clean and well kept. Overall, it is not bad and if you are in search of space and home comforts, the apartments are a good call. The views are grim as you look straight into other buildings and rooms, but it is not a deal breaker for us.
