Hotel's Favourite

I have just returned from a month long vacation in Egypt so this is my first chance to write a review of the wonderful St. Regis and the incredible staff there. My brother and I stayed for 5 nights from October 19th through October 24th. The hotel and room in themselves are beautiful, well appointed, and extremely comfortable. However, it is the staff that makes the St. Regis truly special. Everyone, and I mean everyone was so nice and genuinely friendly I just can’t say enough good things about them.

I apologize that I didn’t get all the names of everyone who made our stay so special, but I would like to mention those that I did. The dining staff were tremendous, Islam, Ibrahim, Rasha, Hatem, Mohammed Shatat, Zaid, and Rehab (at the pool) made every meal something to look forward to. The manager Mr. Girgis Fahmy always had time to stop by our table to make sure that we were well taken care of and just to chat. A very special thanks to Islam and Ibrahim who were good enough to suggest we try Egyptian breakfasts (they were delicious) and brought them to us each morning.

I would also like to mention Zaid (at the gym), Bayoumi (the butler for the floor we stayed on) who always had time to answer any question and check on us. The genuine warmth of the entire staff was unsurpassed…I can’t wait to be able to bring my grandsons back to Egypt so they can see everything it has to offer and be as amazed by its rich history and culture, and when we do return I wouldn’t stay anywhere else than the St. Regis.

So thank you again for making our stay a trip of a lifetime.

I booked a room to celebrate my husband's birthday with our kids. Starting with the reservation office, Miss Mariam was so helpful, she told me about an offer that you get a free upgrade in any room you book, I booked the Astor room and I was upgraded to a partial nile view suite (the room is overlooking the nile in a very good way), I asked her for a birthday cake upon arrival for my husband and early check in and she was so helpful. The check in employee (I can't remember his name) was very nice and checked us in promptly, a lovely lady, Miss Monica took us on a tour to see the different facilities in the hotel. Upon our arrival to the room floor a personal butler (Osama) was there to greet us and ask us if we need any help with the unpacking, and escorted us to our room, and there we found a lovely display of the birthday cake, donuts, fruit basket and a flower bouquet which he prepared! The suite was very spacious and comfortable. There are 2 pools, one indoor and one outdoor, both are very nice, quite small but very nice. The personel around the pool were very nice and extremely helpful. There was a Thai masseuse available for a foot massage around the pool and she was great! We had a late lunch in the main restaurant (a la carte menu) the food was very very tasty, it was expensive but worth every penny.
After lunch we went to the hotel library where there were a lot of options for all the family, and the library was very rich, the kids loved reading their books. The breakfast was a set menu not an open buffet, I thought it was part of the Covid19 precaution but they clarrified that this is the hotel policy all along. Breakfast was amazing and the portions and varieties were good.
On every corner there were sanitizers and all the staff were wearing their masks all the time. Menus, cutlery, cups, pens in the room, remote controls, everything was wrapped in plastic bags.
One of the things I liked most was that the staff were all welcoming, they remembered our names and adressed us with our names all the time.
Truly an amazing experience and I hope you keep that excellent standard.

we stayed in room 1510 in early August. from the moment we came in we felt like royalty. the lobby is on the 5th floor there were bell boys and others to guide us up there once our taxi dropped us . Ahmed our bell boy brought our stuff up in a timely fashion. At check-in Merna and Maryam were amazing, fast and also Maryam escorted us to our room but not without a tour of the main parts of the hotel.

We had a pleasant surprise waiting which was roses and a cake for our 10th anniversary. That was a super great touch. The view was of partial Nile and then also the city. It was amazing. The rooms are very comfortable modern and the bathrooms are amazing with a rain shower and a tub.

For breakfast, we went to the buffet and the staff was amazing as usual, omelets were made fresh enjoyed the halal bacon and the fresh juices ( guava and mango my favorite) .

Ahmed in charge of our rooms was always on it brought us extra water bottles and also made the room spick and span each time.

Also at concierge Ahmed was always there for us to order food like KFC and Pizza hut ( a luxury we cant have in us as its not halal. )

They have an ATM in-house that exchanges us dollars as well for a nominal fee. I found it cheaper to do so as my bank would charge me 5 dollars every time i withdrew cash with my debit card.

A special shout out to Muhammad and his female colleague in the indoor pool, we needed help removing a splinter from my son's foot and he made sure he got the right tool. Ahmed in the gym was always smiling and helpful.

The staff at check out was amazing including Ahmed Kemal ( he made sure I got all the credits i deserved being an American express platinum member.

We also ate at the Singaporean fusion restaurant on the 5th floor, the food was delicious.

Great modern hotel with some excellent desert. Hand sanitizers everywhere.

My quick takeaway from my stay at St.Regis Cairo is that service is excellent, Marriott Bonvoy Ambassador Elite loyalty recognition is great, whereas the hardware is not as impressive as we could expect from a new and shiny top hotel brand like StR.

I received an upgrade to the Metropolitan Suite which I appreciated, however for a brand new StR I expected hardware to be more impressive particularly for the living room. Strangely the only lights were table lamps and there was nothing in the ceiling; given the shape of the room there was not a lot of natural light coming in which made it a bit dark. In addition , the room lacked a local touch, it was somewhat generic, the walls felt naked, and did not give the impression that it was a brand new hotel. I found the bathroom to be considerably better, it was vintage StR quality. The bathroom amenities were Le Remede brand and I was glad they did not cut corners with a cheaper brand which is sometimes the case for StR properties which are in a lower price range. There were views of the Nile from both the bedroom and the living room to take advantage of the nice location.

Breakfast was offered from 6am to 1pm which could not be any more convenient for both early birds or people who prefer lazy mornings. The restaurant venue was on par with the StR brand and also had views of the Nile. The breakfast itself was perhaps a bit disappointing because it was almost entirely buffet and was self-served rather than served by staff which stands out negatively during covid. There was hardly any a la carte menu; it was simply a choice of eggs and I would expect more from a StR. The dish I ordered was quite good but it would not hurt to offer a broader range of options and to have more luxury choices available.

Service during (and before) my stay was excellent. There was an army of staff available at the hotel to meet all possible guest needs. Several staff also addressed me by name on a few occasions even though I was a first-timer at this hotel; they seemed to have been trained well since the opening.

Overall it was not the most impressive StR I stayed at because of the living room and breakfast, but considering local standards I am not sure there are better hotels to choose from in the city, perhaps Fairmont or Four Seasons, but certainly StR would at the very least be near the top of the list. Also considering the price tag it might be unfair to expect as high level of luxury so bottom line I think the hotel performed well and I could recommend it.

We came here over the weekend to celebrate our wedding anniversary, starting from the ease of the reservation, to the easy check in process and the friendliest staff members who made us feel super welcomed. The service is very fast and easy. We also took a very informative tour at the hotel. The concierge team are highly responsive and super friendly.

The food is very nice with a very high quality and a fast service.

The room size is very convenient, well furnished, the bed is super comfortable, the coffee corner is better than any other hotel with an advanced espresso machine (Nespresso) and a variety of drinks. The bathroom is super luxurious with a tv at the bathtub and has all bathroom necessities.
The butler service is available with highly trained, professional and friendly staff.

Overall, the hotel is luxurious, super clean, smells great, elegant and has lots of facilities. They follow strict covid precautions with hand sanitizers everywhere and they put a small box at the room with a mask, gloves, sanitizer and disinfectant wipes which makes us feel comfortable at that time.

Thank you for a great stay

My husband and I stayed here in February for a city getaway. The hotel is beautiful, many well thought details that give the sense of luxury from the moment you walk in. All the staff without exception were very welcoming, very helpful and they all provided personal service.

Rooms were nicely furnished and had very nice Nile views. Because it was Valentine's Day weekend the room was decorated beautifully as well. Food was delicious at La Zisa, we ate there for both breakfast and lunch and were never disappointed. The waitress kept offering us pancakes daily and we were always full from the yummy food so we told her we will the next day. When it was time for us to leave that same day, she insisted on sending some pancakes to the room for us to enjoy before we leave. Talk about amazing personal service!

We tried Tianma for dinner as well, it was the celebration for the Lunar year. Food was delicious especially the sesame ball dessert was out of this world! My only comment is that the chef wouldn't let us take only one set menu and one normal order which didn't make much sense to us and we both ended up ordering from the normal menu instead.

As hygiene goes, the hotel had very high standards during Covid times. No one is allowed into your room without your permission, masks and hand sanitizers are provided every where along with individually wrapped menus.

What we liked most about the hotel aside from the great service was the way the building was planned. Even though it was a building hotel and not a resort, it felt like much more than that.

My only comment is that room service took a bit of time to come, even if we just ordered a hot drink.

We have nothing bad to say about our 3 night stay. Occupancy was low (around 15%) and the attention to detail and design is over the top. Outstanding job by the team here in Cairo. The surrounding walkable area does not lend itself to much for tourism or quick bites...but we enjoyed room service and the restaurant.

Pro Tip: If you enjoy a cocktail...grab some duty free on arrival at CAI and leave it in the room. Alcohol was very expensive ($25+ USD per cocktail) and you can buy a whole bottle of something for that in Duty Free. We would order soda/tonic mixers with room service to help save a few bucks.

Staying at the St.Regis for my mother's birthday was a wonderful choice. From the first moment we arrived, each and every single one of the staff members received us with a big smile. Our room was well prepared for our arrival with a beautiful display of 'Happy Birthday' in rose petals on the bed. The room was cleaned on a daily basis to perfection, sadly I do not know her name, yet the woman who cleaned room 1707 . At La Zisa, their main Italian restuarant for breakfast and lunch and dinner, the staff offered amazing service. I would like to personally thank HATEM and ENGY and ISLAM along with their manager Samy for personalizing each and every moment down to writing my mom's name in chocolate icing on her plate. We enjoyed heading down every morning to the delicious food catered to our specific taste served by such wonderful human beings. The other highlight to our stay was Iridium Spa. From the very first moment we walked in to the last second we walked out, Aya offered top assistance with a smile on her face. She took her time informing us of all our different options helping us choose the treatment that was best for us. Upon actually using the facilities, they had everything and anything you may need or want from the 110 degree Sauna to a Shock Shower to a massaging Jacuzzi to an Adventure Shower (Tropic, Rain, Side Hand) to an Ice Room to a Steam Room. Besides that, we went for the Ancient Nile Package which offered a 30 min. Body Coconut Scrub, a 30 min. Body Wrap and a Pharoanic Massage which includes a dry loofah scrub. Both of our therapists did an amazing job so I would also like to thank Nancy and Sari for their hardwork and attention to detail and for allowing us to leave the place so relaxed that we could barely carry ourselves up to our rooms. This weekend was well spent and put smiles on our face and we have the St.Regis Staff to thank!

St.Regis is probably the best Hotel in Cairo. A quite and beautiful hidden treasure, away from the noisy streets of Cairo. At $ 1.3 Billion this Hotel is both unique and have a lot of attention to details. Rooms were very nice and we received a very nice Upgrade as a Platinum Member of BonVoy. Guest Relations and Concierge Service are amazing and certainly go above what normal Guest Services do.
Having said that we did experience some faults with Service in the main restaurant La Siza. Rude staff and they were very noisy but I guess it was because of Ramadan Buffet after Sunset. Pool is very very small and also cold. Towels on the sun lounges are so small that they bring you 3 pieces to cover you sun lounge. A bit silly to save here at $ 1.3 Billion.
