Opened in the first quarter 2012, the Sofitel Abu Dhabi Corniche (part of Capital Plaza building) is ideally situated in the heart of the city, close to the seafront and the business and financial center. It enjoys a privileged location on Corniche Road, one of the most prestigious district. The maritime centre Port Zayed, the Souk, famous for its rugs and Dhow Harbour, home to the traditional transport and fishing boats which still take to the waters of the Arabian Gulf, are all a short distance from the hotel. The hotel offers all the services of a world-class French establishment, blending its origins with the best of the Oriental influences: butler service and executive lounge access (Club Millesime) for club rooms and suites, and the famous MyBed concept and Bose wave in all rooms. Each of the rooms offer breathtaking views over city and Arabian Gulf. Additionally, the hotel offers 3 signature restaurants and 3 bars, a pool, a spa and wellness space and 9 meeting rooms. I did not regret choosing Sofitel to celebrate my birthday. :) I actually put a note in my booking that I will be celebrating my birthday with them and it would be greatly appreciated if they’ll help in making it special. Truly enough, upon checking in, Agilles, the receptionist, really made it one of a kind by upgrading our room to sea view, late check out until 4pm and gave us drink vouchers. With that gesture, it already made our stay wonderful. However, they put extra effort by giving a birthday cake and one more free drink voucher for my friend. The housekeeping and maintenance staff are so prompt in doing their jobs as well. The hotel provides sanitation station in each elevator and they really follow protocols with regards to sanitizing the rooms. They didn’t disappoint us with their services. However, amenities and entertainment options could be better by providing bidet in every room and by adding more channels that other nationalities could also watch. Overall, I would like to give two thumbs up to the services that they provide most especially to Agilles by going extra mile in making our stay comfortable. Surely, we will book again next time. ☺️

We stayed for 3 nights HB in february. The checkin was excellent. We arrived at 930 so officially couldnt checkin till 1500 but the staff asked us if we would like to swap breakfast on the last day (we were leaving early and so would have missed it) and have it whilst they tried to get an early room for us. We did this and it worked really well being able to checkin early after breakfast. The room was fine, a little tired if you looked hard and the bath leaked but overall we were happy - the food and excellent customer service made up for the little niggles. The food was awesome, we booked half board which was a great decision. Buffet on Saturday was international, sunday was carvery and monday french. I cannot stress how great the quality of the food was, we are not usually buffet people preferring to eat out but had got a great black friday deal on half baord, so pleased that we did. The jazz rooftop bar has a gret view and happy hour is 5 - 8 pm so a litre of beer and a gin cocktail was around £10 - very good value especially in Abu Dhabi. The hotel is located at the end of the corniche near the cruise ship terminal, too far to walk to the 'posh' end but we had a nice walk on the corniche. There are 2 pools which at this time of year are mostly in the shade. There is no beach that you can walk to but the hotel has a free beach shuttle. We took the hotel's free shuttle to YAS mall and ferrari world which is great value as it's approx 40 mins drive. It's not the 'glitziest' hotel nor the newest but we loved it and would stay there again if we go back to Abu Dhabi

My wife and I stayed here for the F1 Grand Prix. We had a Prestige Suite which was on one of the higher floors with panoramic views over the ocean and along the Corniche. A very well-equipped room with separate living room and a really large luxurious bathroom.

The hotel also provided a free shuttle bus up to the Yas Marina Circuit for the F1 which was very helpful.

I would suggest that whilst more expensive (we paid £365 per night), the Prestige Suites are well worth the money if you're going to spend any time in the room or Club Millesime. We enjoyed the free breakfast in the Club every morning which set us up well for the day. We also took advantage of the early evening free drinks to see the coastline lit up.

Service in the hotel was excellent and the bedroom and communal areas were well appointed and clean. There is also a small shop to buy provisions located near the pool area. This was great to stock up on soft drinks etc without paying the hotel prices.

The pool area was OK. It is on the roof of the main part of the hotel and between the 4 towers of rooms/ flats. There are some chairs/ tables and sun-loungers dotted around. It’s a shame that the area doesn’t get much sun (certainly at the times we used it) as it’s in the shadow of the tower blocks. You also can’t really see out to the coast as there’s a solid wall in the way.

Unfortunately, we weren’t blown away by the Italian restaurant. The pizzas we ordered were very standard and very ‘precise’, seemingly lacking the flare of a creative chef.

5 stars for the hotel and rooms, dropping down to 4 stars with the pool and restaurant.

We stayed here for 1 night as a quick getaway from our usual residence in Dubai. By mistake I booked the right dates but for the totally wrong month (August instead of February). We made the booking through booking.com and it was non-refundable.

At this point we thought we were going to have to cut our losses and either drive back to Dubai or book another night in the hotel and pay even more. Luckily, the staff member that was checking us in was extremely helpful (Saham was his name). He initially said there were no more rooms available but after a quick phone call we were told we could get a similar room to the one we'd booked but it would cost a little extra. We were fine with this outcome and decided to pay the extra and get checked in.

After all the check-in was completed Saham walked round to us and informed us we had been 'double-y upgraded' to an executive suite. We were very happy with this outcome and shortly after we headed to our room. The executive suite was nothing like we'd ever stopped in before with great views out to sea.

We stopped in the hotel for the evening and then checked out around 1.30pm the following day, leaving our luggage at the hotel and headed out to explore Abu Dhabi.

All in all this stay was an extremely pleasant one, we would definitely like to come back.

I would also like to make a special shoutout to Vusi who helped us with our bags and assisted us in getting our car. He was a very nice gentleman and it was a pleasure to deal with him.

Our stay in the hotel was absolutely wonderful and full of satisfaction. The hotel is beautiful and the room with the view to the ocean is perfect for our getaway! We enjoyed the pool a lot and the dining options as well. Best part of our stay is when we feel very welcomed and taken care of during our stay and special mention to Lama and Monica who were superb in terms of guest engagement. Every time we visited the outlet - Parmigiana, they welcomed us with smile and accommodated our request accordingly. They are truly considered a gem in the property who keeps shining and enticing guest to come back more often! Thank you so much guys for making us feel important and special.

I usually always give the Sofitel 5 stars and the main reason I stay here is for the great swimming pool but when I got to the pool the lifeguard told me the heater wasn't working and the water was cold so I had to swim in the pool at the back which is very small and not suitable for swimming lengths. This should have been made clear on the website because if I had known, I would have stayed at the Dusit Thani where I often stay too.

I was also disappointed with the selection of food in the Club Millésime lounge for the afternoon tea (chicken tikka and muhammara sandwiches if you could get one as the lounge was packed and orange marmelade instead of traditional strawberry jam with the scones) and in the evening there was really nothing much to eat, just some sliced bread with beetroot muttabal and another snack with fig compote and goat's cheese. A waitress served a single chicken nugget and a mini arancino. There was some cheese and fruit and that was about it. The Club Millésime at the JBR Sofitel and the Dusit Thani club lounge are far superior.

I was however happy to see Norhaina again who is always delightful and made me feel really welcome. I was also happy to see Lou again and he kindly went out of his way to get me some mint lemonade which wasn't available in the lounge.

Check-in took forever, I stood in the queue for 20 minutes until the Front Desk Manager Anna arrived to check me in at the concierge desk which also took ages. It was nice to meet her and speak some Italian. I wasn't happy with the first room which had a strange layout with two armchairs in the entrance facing a wall and nowhere to sit in the bedroom so after another long wait at reception I changed rooms.

Housekeeping was not up to the usual standards, the toilet smelt of urine when I arrived and there were no towels next to the bidet. The Bose sound system was completely useless. I couldn't get any radio stations on it nor connect with Bluetooth. And the menu wasn't working on the TV either.

Sofitel Abu Dhabi. I stayed in many hotels in AD " Marriott portfolio" and others but this hotel outperformed all the hotels in terms of welcoming , service, cleaning, availability of everything you need in your stay (( you don't want to ask for something beacause everything is ready as it should be )), location, views and the food . i can't talk about the good details beacause it's more , so i'll talk about four good situations only. in the first stay Mr Ahmad help me to finish my reservation , also he upgraded my booking to sea view room from himself ( it's amazing room ) and arrange the room to be ready for me before i reached the hotel around 10:00 morning, thank you Mr Ahmad . other stay everything was amazing ,i can't forget second upgrade to suite and view was spectacular, food at grills was so delicious and on time with genuine smile from the staff.

This high rise hotel is located in Abu Dhabi. The room I was allocated came with 2 single beds, it was compact and cosy. Hotel generally looked dated and can do with some refurbishment and updating. The bathroom was adequate ,with a bath and shower. There was no shower gel when I checked in so I had to ask them to supply some. I didnt have breakfast so couldn't comment on the quality of the breakfast. Generally not a bad choice for a hotel and location is good with a free shuttle bus to the marina mall.

we spent a staycation in the hotel. it was good experience, the room was very good with excellent view, the restaurant is always nice serving delicious food. I really appreciate the efforts of reception staff specially Agailes who was so helpful and friendly.
in an excellent hotel like Sofitel, I except room service to be quick and responsive, the same applies to hotel services. when a client asks for something, it is well appreciated to provide him of what he needs (pillows, extra water.....etc). also the glass needs to be cleaned to allow guests enjoy the view. there are no pillows on the sofas which makes it unconvertable. it is good hotel in general. I will visit the restaurant again for sure.

Beautiful rooms with spectacular views of the ocean. If you can get a sea view room it’s well worth it. We had our room on the 34th floor and had access to the lounge also. Was disappointed that on the Accor website it stated kids were allowed with adults but told at the property kids under 12 are not allowed during the evening. Would not have opted for lounge access if we had known.

The staff here were very hit and miss. When we arrived for check in we added if there is an area for check in for platinum member and we got told no you have to wait. Later we saw a sign clearly marked. Not sure if the lady believed I was a platinum member. We found some staff were very friendly to others but not our group. Not sure if this was as we are Indians but found staff not smiling when we approached them. On one occasion our entire group was at breakfast and we wanted to join them. We got told that we couldn’t join them as that area was now closed and we had to sit somewhere else. Luckily a lady came and escorted us to our family.

Lounge at the hotel is very beautiful and the staff also very pleasant. We opted to have breakfast downstairs as the choice was some what limited.

We had 3 rooms all were suites. 2 rooms were identical and 1 wasn’t - this room seem different. It was room number 3405 - I would request avoiding 05 room number if you book a suite. Request 3401. The room I got was huge and very well appointed.

The pool area is nice but it was too cold to swim. Again I found staff more friendly towards other guest. I have stayed in over 6 Sofitel hotels and this one has to be the worse experience. The staff need better training and motivation to treat all guest the same. The property has so much potential.

They don't have beach access, the hotel is 10min walking distance to Corniche beach though, depending on the time of the year that is an option
