Large room and nice view (1400); friendly staff who do their best in what is an awful hotel. This was a King Corner room booked on Booking.com.

I started my stay in room 1414 but was moved on my second day to room 1400 after having very noisy neighbours in room 1412, who played loud music and shouted both after midnight and at 6 am in the morning. Room 1400 has a very large living area but I could not use it because the room was as cold as a fridge. The A/C can not be turned off and it delivers 18 degrees regardless of the setting. Second, there was a very strong chemical smell (furniture polish, air freshener or carpet cleaner, I don’t know) but it gave me an allergic reaction with red puffy eyes. I had no tv for 3 days, not even a remote control in the room.

One of the biggest disappointments of my stay was the breakfast. This was served in the room and had to be ordered each morning using WhatsApp, as the rooms do not have a telephone. Typically, the main course consisted of an omlette, two hash browns and some dry, hard chicken nuggets (see picture). On some days, not even with juice or water. It was surprising that a supposedly four star hotel closed its restaurant during Ramadan when most other four star hotels in Doha kept their restaurants open (including the other Wyndham hotel in West Bay).

Smaller grievances: No pub in the hotel (apparently the new hotel owner closed it four months ago); poor room design – the wardrobes in room 1400 are down a narrow corridor – good luck if your waistline is over 46 inches; very loud A/C; a single size sheet used on a king double bed, which didn’t tuck under the mattress on any side; the thinnest toilet paper ever seen; cheap toiletries (shampoo, bodywash); broken chain on door; place for taxis to collect and drop off is blocked with plants, causing blockages and confusion on a narrow one-way road.

My reservation was four six nights but after four nights I could not take the cold temperatures, chemical smells in the air and lousy breakfasts any longer, so I checked out two days early and returned home. If Ramada Wyndham group don’t check what their franchisees are up to I won’t be patronizing this chain again.

really friendly staff and a well located hotel not far from the airport and great for a 1 night stay. There is a Starbuck in the hotel as well which we liked for a reliable morning coffee. our room was huge and really comfy.
the breakfast wasn't good. it was poor qualtiy and the staff were none existent for help with missing cutlery etc. it all felt a bit cheap and dirty.

There were only a handful of customers when we arrived, yet the check-in process was painfully slow. On average, it took 10-15min to process check in for every customer. I was asked to pay 200 Qatari Riyal in cash (credit card was not acceptable) as deposit which was never mentioned when I booked the hotel.
As we entered the room, the house keeper was still cleaning the room. Clearly there is no communication between front desk and house keeping team.
The room itself was massive. It came with 2 bathrooms and a living room. However, one of the bathrooms was dirty and has zero amenities (no toilet roll, no towel, no soap) so deemed unusable. The few pieces of furniture in the living room looked somewhat in disarray.
There is no phone in the room (strange setup for a hotel), we were asked to use What'sApp to contact front desk if we need anything.
We have an early morning flight to catch the following morning and was offered a packed breakfast by the front desk, but again nothing was served the next morning. We end up having our breakfast at the airport.

The rooms are huge and I had a pleasant view of local area.
Reception and Concierge staff were very helpful and assisted with directions and Taxi to Airport.
Breakfast was a real treat.
The pool area was not very inviting but pool was refreshing to cool off in during the heat of the day.

Firstly I confirmed my pick up from the airport with 3 different staff. Each one gave me a different price. I confirmed the evening before my arrival yet no one was there to pick us up. Had to make alternate arrangements and had a deposit not been paid that I would then lose I would have gone to another hotel. Rooms are spacious but nothing else was good. Poor service all round. Had 3 rooms as we were a big family. Tea making facilities but not one room had a teaspoon. Not much better at breakfast. Always had to ask for cutlery and wait 15 minutes and keep asking. Buffet always out of milk. Not enough towels. Towels were not replaced for clean ones even when we asked. Also on arrival my son’s sheets were soiled with blood so had to wait for housekeeping to change them once more at 11 at night. The night before our departure we confirmed and paid for our transfer to the airport. There was a delay and we made it just in time to catch our flight. Charged us QAR300 but the Uber only cost QAR35. Will definitely not be returning to the Ramada. Was our first trip to Doha and the hotel made it a terrible experience.

I thought I’ve gotten a good deal from booking.com for a “King room with corner window with breakfast”. The unexpected dismay began from the time of check-in. We were informed that there will be no buffet breakfast in the hotel but will be served our breakfast order in the room due to Ramadan. This is unusual as I stayed a week ago in Wyndham Grand West Bay (same brand under Wyndham) and buffet breakfast was served as usual. Front desk lady responded that it is under different management (????)

We also asked the front desk lady if we could view the apartment units. She replied that she is unsure which units are vacant and available for viewing and that she needs to check with Houskeeping team for the info. (Later, we bumped into the Housekeeping Manager at the pool area who informed us that they do not have the info and that the front desk lady was mistaken)

Next, we went to our room 1011. It looks totally different from our booked room. Not a corner unit and definitely no corner window.
We went back to the reception and was told it is the same room category (????????) Later the manager on duty came out and discussed with the Front Desk staff to change our room to 1205 with a bigger window. We settled for this room. Problem resolved….until another problem emerged.

We contacted the restaurant on WhatsApp to request for the breakfast menu. The reply came in the form of a photo being their standard breakfast set to the room. The food looks unappealing and reminds me of the type of food which is served for hospital wards. We asked if the portion was fixed and if we could have extra items such as omelet and a second cup of juice. To this, we were bluntly asked “How many pax are you in the room?” We replied that we were 2 pax…wondering if he meant anything else as though we were ordering an excessive portion of food for breakfast….

Guests are given a voucher by the hotel for a complimentary drink at the Starbucks outlet at the ground floor. We tried to redeem a cold beverage but was declined by the barista who replied “only cappuccino, latte, americano or espresso”. While I do acknowledge the kind gesture of the hotel for the free drink, the voucher simply states “free 1 beverage” without stating any fixed choices, contrary to what the barista said. With yet another unpleasant encounter emerging within a mere duration of 6 hours since we checked in, our frustration led us to raise this to the front desk for clarification. A staff from front desk went over to the Star bucks counter to enquire what was the problem and the barista explained that there are limited choices for the voucher. That was it, and nothing changed. Still it remained as “no cold drinks allowed for the voucher”.

The manager on duty Mr Hari kept explaining that he “understands our concerns” and apologized for the shortcomings. There was no action beyond the verbal apology. Apology is one thing. Taking the effort to DO SOMETHING about it is another thing. Unlike other hotels with true hospitality which is customer oriented, this hotel did NOT undertake to go the extra mile for me as a guest to make up for the shortcomings.

The worst stay and service ever. We are in a long transit here in Doha. We decided to book for 1 night only me and my wife.
1- For the first impression you feel that all the front office reception staff don’t have any experience related to hospitality. They are acting too slow on the checkin and whenever we have to ask questions they have to refer to their manager.
2- There is no phone in the room to contact the reception in case you need something. The only way they gave us a whatsapp number and they said to us whatever we want we can send messages to whatsapp. My wife contact them to ask for an adopter they said we will check and they disappeared even with kind reminders. They saw our message and they didn’t reply. I requested early morning water to do some coffee also no response. In conclusion no one will answer you if you want something.
3- during check out I complained to the staff at the reception for the whole things. He didn’t even apologize for the situation happened like it was something normal and he told me we can offer you now bottle of water. I said okay he said to me wait 5 mins. He is trying to reach someone to provide me only bottle of water and also no one is answering him. Can you imagine this service?????
4- they provide us free coffee voucher from starbucks there was a staff her name Saida, she mentioned we can pick up our coffee anytime and I make sure about that because I was checking out at 4 am so she ensured that the service of coffee is 24 hours after checking with her manager. And here also the big fault. The coffee service is until 00.00 midnight only.

Always wrong information, unprofessional customer service, slow procedure, there is no customer care.

Don't go to this hotel during Ramadan if you are non-Muslim. You will be treated like a second class citizen. Last year, one had to order breakfast on WhatsApp (even if included in booking) and look at the picture to see what was delivered each day. Worst hotel I have ever been to.
