Definitely not a 5 star hotel , everything from checking in at the front desk with Omar , room service , housekeeping and even car parking was pathetic !
Unprofessional front desk who have no idea how to behave , really badly trained. Very racist towards non Arab nationalities , seem like it’s only appropriate to be polite or go out of your way for Arabs
Almost impossible to order room service, took almost an hour of calling before I got through
No housekeeping , tried to order extra towels as the room we booked was 2 adults and 2 children , but there was only 1 towel ! Couldn’t get through to anyone.
Room was basic , no water , fruits , dates or even a minibar and snack in room as with other true 5 stars in the area
I understand it was in the last 10 nights of Ramadhaan and extremely busy , however if the hotel wants to charge over the odds with extortionate pricing taking advantage of people then the service should at least match.
The only positive was the location and the buffet breakfast.
Location is literally a 5 minute walk flat walk to Haram , people pray all the way past the hotel and if getting late you can always join in the Jamat from outside , you can also hear Imam from inside your room another facility if you need.
Breakfast ( suhoor) buffet was great , a very good selection catering to a large variety of tastes
Only lacking some fresh juices but other than that it was great , even the service here was completely different to the rest of the hotel . Staff were very attentive and helpful .

I stayed at this hotel for a weekend getaway and was blown away by the quality of service. The front desk staff went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed, and the room itself was comfortable and stylishly designed. The hotel also has a great location, offering easy access to local attractions
Spical thanks to the desk reception manager he was good and waad and sari

Service is too slow and sometimes no response.. it doesn’t look like a 5 star hotel. The experience i had isn’t as good as i have expected.
The location is advantage for the hotel 5-7 min of walk and you will find yourself at haram (the most thing i like) and you can hear all the prayers from the hotel

After having a long flight and then travel from Jeddah, we got to the hotel with two children. My husband went to check in, he was told there was no booking, we were made to sit in the reception area for hours, waiting, ringing the agent who booked our room, who said it was paid for and confirmed. Finally they came to us a few hours later and said there was a mistake on the booking name and we did have a room. This happened to two other families whilst we were there.
Unless you are with a big Indonesian group, they largely ignore you. We stayed for 5 nights, in a room where their is not much space to eat or put litter, they won't clean your room unless you keep asking.
The rooms are unclean and out-dated.
The biggest bother for us was, the windows allow all traffic noise from outside, 24 hours a day, there is a bus station right outside and a taxi rank, even if you are exhausted, the noise keeps you awake.

However, the hotel is a five minute walk to the clock tower and the Haraam mosque. The breakfast, cold and hot is a good set up for a long day. The food on room service is really good quality and reasonably priced.

We as a family with small children would not stay at the Elaf Almashear again. There are plenty of good hotels in the area that would do a better job.

The most horrendous stay in this hotel. Although close to the masjid the staff in the hotel were rude and disrespectful. We were almost kicked out on three occasions because their systems showed we were booked in for one night. Despite showing our paperwork that was contrary to what their systems showed, they refused entry back into the rooms and would not allow us to collect our belongings until we paid more money. Once the money was paid they refunded us the same night and informed us it was a systems error. This happened to us on three occasions. The Arab staff were rude, confrontational towards women, aggressive and totally disrespectful to our party. This also happened to four other guests whilst we were there and unfortunate for them they were told to pay 3+ additional nights. The worst experience ever and it completed ruined our first umrah experience. Please avoid this place and use your money wisely elsewhere

The bathroom / washroom cleanliness was so bad that we could not even breathe. The room window's locking latch was loose and windows didn't close properly. The bath area was full of old fungus and was not cleaned properly despite the complaint.

It is my first time visiting Saudi Arabia and my first stay was amazing in the hotel, the service was excellent, the girl at the reception had the most beautiful smile and attitude, the room service was available all the time and with quality.
And the concierge was extremely helpful.
The hotel location is very good, not far from Haram, and visible from Haram's gate, which makes it easier to find and harder to get lost.
Enjoyed every minute of my stay and will definitely repeat it whenever possible ❤️❤️❤️

Highly disrespectful staff, no one understands a single word of English. We were in the state of ihram (me, my mother and 4 year old twin girls) and the reception staff were extremely rude and not helpful at all. I have been to 11 countries and never felt so humiliated. The toilet's sink had a leakage which they fixed but the drain was stinking throughout our stay. There is no restaurant that serves lunch or dinner, only breakfast is served. The hotel lobby was very dirty, all tables full of dust. The room view was terrible and they promised to change the room subject to additional SAR 325 but that never happened.
The room card never worked and I had to go to down every time to get it revalidated. I requested them to change the card as they had given me only one but they refused.
It's a shame that people who go there to perform Umrah and get peace of mind are treated like this in such a holy place.

ev scooter (mi scooter) is allowed. They answered yes it is allowed and now after 2 days they asked us to take ev scooter to the car parking basement and it's not allowed to take it to the room.

Positive:
The hotel was very nice and the staff at its reception was very polite and cooperative. The location of the hotel was about five minutes walk from the Haram.

Negative;
1. We were in another hotel in Makkah and were going to Madinah for two days before checking in this hotel. We requested the hotel to store our bags for two days before our check in but the hotel denied.
2. Despite space available in the room, we were not provided an extra bed on our request. We were willing to pay charges for the extra bed.
3. The locker in the room was not working, probably, the batteries needed replacement.
