With an enviable location at the front of Abraj Al Bait complex and overlooking Al Masjid Al Haram and the Holy Kaaba, the five-star Al Marwa Rayhaan by Rotana offers guests both comfort and convenience and is an ideal base for visiting pilgrims. Our brand name, Rayhaan, refers to an aromatic plant mentioned in the Holy Quran and reflects how our style of hospitality respects the culture and beliefs of our guests. The hotel’s 503 rooms and suites have been designed and furnished with the values and tastes of the modern Arabian culture in mind and many offer guests unique and uplifting views of Makkah’s most important holy site. The spiritual journey continues inside our four unique dining venues, where most of them also overlook Al Haram Shareef. Al Shorfa restaurant, is the place to enjoy à la carte cuisine on the 11th-floor terrace in full view of the Holy Kaaba, while our all-day dining outlets spoil guests for choice with their wide range of tempting international cuisine. When guests step outside Al Marwa Rayhaan by Rotana they can explore all that Abraj Al Bait complex offers, from shops to cafés and a large commercial centre.

The location is good but if you are expecting Kaba view than it's not possible due to ongoing conversation work. So don't waste money. The front desk is too lousy and will waste 20 to 30 minutues in confirmation and room allotment. The rooms are very congested with very less space. The washrooms are also very small. The
The menu selection of breakfast buffet is very poor. Most of the items are not meant to be served in breakfast. The refilling of dishes is quite slow. The dining space is very congested. Slow WiFi is another sore point.

Location is excellent on the east wing of Hajar tower of Abraj Al Bait. Booking online was easy and cheaper than any other site if you join Rotana membership. There's an option while booking to upgrade for other options for a tiny surcharge.
Check in was swift; I was allowed to check in at 11 am. Front desk staff was very cooperative. Room on the 21st floor with Kaaba view. was well furnished, decorated with new styles and apparently new TV screen and others. Bathroom is a bit small and needs some maneuvers to get to the shower , a bit difficult for the elderly with walking stick. Buffet breakfast was a bit limited but offers many choices in the hot bar, cold bar and bakeries. You can enjoy the breakfast in the balcony or veranda overlooking the Haram; weather is marvelous in the open air these days.
The WiFi is sometimes slow and interrupted upstairs and needs more attention. Surprisingly, you might pick signal from nearby towers better than their local signal.
Another weak point is that only one lift is operating from P11 to P0 (Haram) with many stops in between which makes workers and staff on many commercial floors to use Rihaan labelled lift. It takes very long time to get the lift and reach your destination. Sometimes, it's advisable to use next door lifts of Movenpick residence.
Overall, satisfied and will be back

Service is very slow. I had 3 executive rooms and it took 2 hours to allocate them to us. Secondly, The safety box was not working in one of the rooms and i complained 4 times to get it fixed however, it still wasn't fixed. We asked for extra towels and even for that we had to keep calling guest services multiple times.
slow and very poor service compared to Movenpick and Pullman.

we stayed at Al Marwa Rayhaan Hotel from Sunday 2nd of February to Thursday 6th of February, under room reservation ID 432840. our reservation was Classic Suite with Part Haram view. We arrived the hotel at 3 pm , and the reception crew gave us the suite No 1433. And the terrible service began, the room was had a terrible smell, smell like a urine. We gone down and complain about that, so they asked us to go for Omrah first and they will handle that. We returned back to the hotel to find the smell as it was before. I gone down again and asked about any solution for that and they procrastinated us ( they will clean the carpet, they will clean the air conditioning filter and there is no smell ”One of customer service employees said that) till it was 10 pm. they asked the head of room services to check by him-self and he approved that there was a non acceptable smell. I gone down and asked to upgrade or downgrade the room as they mentioned that there is no availability for the same room class. they upgraded our classic suite to a 2 bedrooms suite at 10:30 pm. It was suite No 328 And it was free of charge. The time of corrective action was very late and that leave a bad perception instead of a good one.

on Wednesday 5th of February , I requested a late check out until 6 pm on Thursday 6th, they accepted with a charge of 900 SAR and this for a half day stay till 6 pm on Thursday 6th of February. Despite of the high charge I accepted and paid at 2:50 pm ( on Wednesday before one day of our checkout) . On Thursday, my children came to the hotel at 4 pm they found the keys was inactive and they called me to come from Al Masjid Al Haram. I came to the reception and they apologized for that and re activated our keys. I said we will pray for Maghrib and then making check out and that could be 6:30 pm and they accepted. Then we arranged our bags and gone to Maghrib prayer. When I returned to hotel at 6:30 pm I found the keys was inactive again. I went down to found that they want to charge us 2000 SAR for a whole day stay ( total of 2900 SAR) , and after a half an hour, they accepted to give us our bags with no extra charge under the supervision of the bell man. The whole situation appeared like a kind of revenge or teaching a lesson, but in all cases it was un accepted. It’s not our first time to stay at Rotana hotels, but the customer service in Al Marwa Rayhaan was far away from our expectations about your respectable brand.
NB / you can review the security camera to check my words.

This is by far the worst experience:

• The hotel staff show no professionalism and used foul languages with travelers of Omrah and the owner of the tourism company and have made the experience horrible.
• The rooms had stains in different areas.
• The rooms didn’t get serviced appropriately until multiple complaints were lodged.
• The Wi-Fi service was horrible and unusable in bedrooms.
• Breakfast menu and Breakfast buffet is subpar compared to other hotels and not even remotely comparable to what’s represented in fake advertisements.
• Claimed 5-star hotel but mostly feeling like a 1-star motel.
• The building, furniture and room are aging badly with nothing being renovated compared to other hotels in Makkah.

Generally, not recommended for anyone who wants to get their money’s worth and want to conduct a spiritual religious trip without the antics of an unprofessional establishment.

The hotel was beautiful and they even send a WhatsApp message prior to arrival.

It was clean, everything worked well and situated inside the clock tower. One tip is to tell the taxi driver from the airport to drop you at the underground tunnel - much easier to get to the hotel from here. Also, I asked around 10 taxi drivers and nobody quotes less than 200 Riyals, it mist be because it was the month before Ramadan and therefore very busy.

The azaan will play over the speakers which is wonderful, and the hotel staff were very helpful.

I was lucky enough to stay at another hotel (Fairmont) inside the clock tower and that was amazing.

All the clock tower hotels have one downfall, the lifts are very confusing and slow.

This was my second visit to this hotel. The first one was 13 years ago and we enjoyed it at that time and that’s why we came back again for our planned Umrah. This time, it seems that the hotel is in decline. I have already paid a lot of money for the family room reservation (£3700 for five nights! Much more than if I booked a whole suit in Pullman for instance) but wanted Marwa Rayhan as we had nice memories 13 years ago when my wife was pregnant. This time, it was hell! From the start we had no extra beds for my kids eventhough this was agreed in advanced by bookings.com and paid for, the hotel staff kept stating that it is bookings.com fault and that it is hotel policy to pay extra for beds ( and we are taking about more than £100 per night per child!). I refused to pay twice for this and the kids slept in our bed for the whole duration., which none of us enjoyed but had no choice as the staff and their manager were very dismissive. The shower water control doesn’t work: either freezing cold or very hot, the carpet is run down, the safe doesn’t open and the food is exactly the same every day, tasteless with a badly tempered manager shouting at his poor staff making the atmosphere very unpleasant and unprofessional with his bad attitude ( during Ramadan as well!). There is no full view of Kaaba on this hotel anymore due to recently built minarets in between!, and still you have to pay extra for this fir instance if you want to go to the hotel balcony for few minutes to see this partial view, you have to pay 100 Riyals or so! Overall we felt miserable during our stay and will never go back there, what a shame! Previous nice memories all gone now.

1. Per confirmation email my checkin time was at 2pm but I was given the room about 3 hours after.
2. The room had an strong and suffocating smell of smoke. Was hard to breath during sleep.
3. Hotel acknowledged the problem and failed to provide an alternative, they sent someone to spray a deodorizer powder and open the window.
4.Emailed shift manager and resrvation but no one replied.
5. Rooms appear to be poorly maintained.
5. Rated at 5 star but not worth even one star.

We booked to stay in the hotel during Ramadan 2022 from 29th March till 21st April 2022. Twenty days stay at great expense was horrible, uncomfortable, rude threatening behaviour by staff. At the time of check in I was allocated room 1903 to stay for my entire period. I was told at the time that I don't have to change room unless I wanted. on 1st of Ramadan 2nd April , my key stopped working. On enquiring at the desk that I had to change the room. I approached duty Manager, miss Dalla who not only help but down right rude and obstructive. Then I approached line Manager Mohannas Ajnan who after long discussion, asked me to check out if I don't like the hotel. This was very disturbing for me. I was allocated room 2003. As I was preparing to change the room, I was told that room 2003 was allocated to someone else. Then I was given room 801 which was not suitable for any guest. Air conditioning was not working properly. On many occasions room temperature went up to 26*c which is clearly shown in attached photo. We had 4 to 5 Engineers visit during my stay. They were not able to resolve the problem satisfactorily. I asked to change the room but all the time I was told that hotel is full. Although every day there were 100s of new check in and check out. I asked to meet General Manger Mr. Maqdoom who was not interested in listening to my problem. The hotel location is good but the management needs to change to bring up to standard. I have been staying in this hotel every Ramadan for more than 20 days on each occasion. But under the current Management I would not recommend this hotel to any one. It is waste of money, time and space. In British comedy " FAWLTY TOWER", there was was only one character John Cley's but in this hotel one will find multiple john cley's in different form. Room and bathroom was dirty, rusty, damage furniture.
