Knowing where to stay for the first time in Istanbul is a daunting prospect. After much research we decided on Hammamhane and were extremely impressed. It is in the narrow, winding and hilly streets of Cihangir, which is super groovy and very hip, yet surprisingly quiet in comparison to some of the busier neighborhoods. Tons of restaurant options as well as bars and it is easy to walk everywhere (albeit hilly!). The hotel itself is clean, beautifully presented, good breakfast (although as vegans it would be nice to have some more vegan options such as plant based milk for coffee) and incredibly comfy beds! We appreciated the bottles of water as well as the washing machine in our room. It is also connected to a Turkish bath & spa and on our final day in Istanbul we booked ourselves in for a treat and it was a wonderful highlight to our amazing time in Istanbul. Hammamhane is highly recommended. Thank you! MKF family (visiting from Portland, Oregon & New York City).…
AMAZING. If your going to the European section of istanbul. The boutique hotel is perfect. Not sure when it was built but everything looks and feels new. It is a comfortable, sleek feel in the rooms. There are big windows that open an the view of the tranquil street delightful. Unbelievably, there is a small kitchen and washer/ dryer combo. Hiding behind a door. Your room is really an apartment. The daily breakfast delicious and they also have a free happy hour.. all the staff everywhere nothing but helpful and kind. Although, it feels like a sleepy street get away you are a 5-7 minute walk to " busy time" Istanbul with bars and shenanigans to be had. All public transportation is also nearby..we used the Tram, metro and boat to cross to the Asian side. Lastly, the manager ( or hotel owner) checked in multiple times to make sure we were enjoying our stay. I highly recommend this hotel.…
My husband and I stayed at the Hamamhane for over a week in late May 2022. It was our second stay at this hotel. Simply put, the customer service, ambience, and culture of the hotel itself is one of a kind, world class experience. There is efficiency and professionalism like you might expect in a large hotel chain, but with the procured individualism that you will only find in a thoughtful boutique experience. But beyond that, it feels like home and the staff themselves make you feel like family-so you actually relax in a way that we simply had not relaxed in a while. Go to the Hamamhane, you will always think back fondly on your experience and you will leave inspired. You just cannot find hotels like this anymore!
Where do I begin? This was one of my best stays in Istanbul. I was staying here for 9 nights. Everything was amazing with this place - the communication, the location, the hotel transfer, the breakfast. The room was immaculate. I simply cannot say more positive things about this place and the kindness and caring of the staff. Loved the breakfast and the kind ladies who was preparing it every morning. The place was very convenient and safe as well. I will definitely be back and recommend my friends.
This place is amazing. The staff, rooms, sheets and cleanliness is exceptional. I felt like family. They always went up an above the call of duty. It is situated not far from the tram T1 line that goes to all of the major attractions. I will definitely come back to stay.
We stayed in one of the apartments for 2 weeks. Top floor, so very quiet. Amazingly renovated, fully furnished and very clean. Familiar atmosphere. Highly recommended. Good breakfast, friendly staff and great location.
I would like to thank the two younger chaps at the reception who were so courteous to me throughout my 7 night stay at your hotel. I would like to direct my ire and displeasure at the old bearded receptionist who masquerades as a nice person but he is actually full of old fashioned prejudices and is quite tone deaf to any criticism when being called out. The old bearded chap - whose name I couldn’t even be arsed to remember - sallied my experiences at Hammamhane. The third time I have stayed at Hammamhane in the last four years. I couldn’t believe how defensive the guy was when i told him that his condescending language wasn’t acceptable. He had insinuated that I didn’t want to pay for the damn beer - apparently mourning about it. I kept on telling the chap that i was happy to pay but because he is tone deaf and fantastically prejudiced, he kept on using phrases like ‘you want to bankrupt us’, ‘oh what is wow for, because i have asked you to pay for a beer, otherwise i would ask you to pay for all the three beers - which had been given to me as courtesy in the first place,’ ‘you have stayed in the best room’, etc. He talked with such ghastly pompous air as if owns Hammamhane or owns Shangri-La Bosphorus. What a disgrace of a man! I am happy that there are other team members that are genuinely pleasant. I thank and wish them all the best. Needless to say that i will not be obviously coming back or recommending the place to any of my mates as I have done so in last few years. I will rather pay more and be treated professionally (and courteously) which i have already experienced in most of the 5* hotels along the Bosphorus in the last decade or so.…
Just perfect, from the welcome to the farewell. Helpful staff, so so clean, intimate but at the same time spacious Would go back in a heartbeat Only suggestion would be to provide a vegan breakfast as i struggled a bit!
I have stayed at Hammamhane (once a friend referred me) each time I've visited Istanbul, and have stayed there a total of about a month, It is the only place I would want to stay in Istanbul! Bulent and the rest of the staff ALWAYS go the extra mile to assist guests and to insure that their stay is as wonderful as possible, and they succeed! I have lived in 5 different countries, and have stayed in a variety of accomodations; I have never been so comfortable in every way as I have been at Hammamhane. Other reviews will talk about the great accomodations themselves, as well as the wonderful location. They are true! But what separates Hammamhane from all the other places I've stayed has been the staff. Their help and support extended well before AND AFTER my stay there, and went far above what would be expected of a business. They did so because of the people that work there - they are great human beings, and it is reflected in all that they did. This review is about 1,000 characters - I could easily write 1,000 more about how wonderful they are.... Last tip - when you hear the man walking down the street in the evening calling out "Boza!", RUN OUTSIDE AND GET SOME! It is fantastic!…
