The first day we came across the hotel's live music event. They said it would be on the 7th floor. When we first went up to the 7th floor, that's when we saw the view for the first time. totally legendary. you are watching the most beautiful and purest view of the whole city. and a very enjoyable live music accompanied by the view.. the atmosphere was great! Make sure to come across a day with live music. breakfast has many choices, vegans have a lot of options to eat. This really made us very happy. All streets of Istanbul consist of ups and downs. the hotel is located in a straight street. this is good. To go to the historical areas, you have to walk up a bit. but this means that wherever you stay, you will experience the same situation. That's why you can choose Skalion with peace of mind. BECAUSE:: staff is excellent, everyone is striving for your satisfaction all around you. everyone's helpfulness, friendliness, energy.. We really thank everyone very much. Everyone was very interested from the moment we entered until we left the hotel. At breakfast, Çiğdem had memorized our room number :) All friends at the reception; Milya, Ümit, Yağmur, Veysel... I would like to thank you all. And Reina dog.. who came with very beautiful shirts, special thanks to you! for making us love you every day :) Note to those who will visit Istanbul::: try not to use a taxi! they are all trying to scam you, wear your sneakers and try to walk everywhere!!! :)…
This is my first time in Istanbul, and i might say that it was excellent Everything was perfect, the room was clean and the staff provides you great hospitality. There was a girl in the reception called Milya, she helps us a lot , she was so nice to us. Thanks to her and to all the staff, my first experience was so great! And i should not forget the food, it was so delicious, it was literally the best food i ate in my life ! I highly recommend this hotel, and i will come back soon fo sure !
Very impressed with the hotel & staff. Special thanks to Milya who took care of all our problems at the reception. This is our second time in Istanbul and this hotel was a great choice. The bathroom is a little small but in Istanbul most boutique hotels are like that. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, since it's located in the Kumkapi district, famous for fish! We had no problem eating and finding food late nights. We had a wonderful stay & both managers were extremely nice. Breakfast was delicious & plenty to choose from.
The rooms are not large, but they are adequate for accommodation in my opinion. We had zero issues. The cleaning staff clean the room every day; they are very helpful and friendly. This location is ideal for exploring the city. After a day of exploring the city, you can rest in your room and sleep comfortably. The street where the hotel is located is quite busy and crowded. However, this is not limited to the neighborhood in which the hotel is located; in fact, Istanbul is extremely crowded throughout:) I'd like to specifically mention the hotel staff; you can find very luxurious and expensive hotels where you can stay but Skalion Hotel, on the other hand, makes you feel at home and treats you like family. Even when the problem is minor, everyone is happy to help you. I want especially thank Milya and Yağmur. From the first entry, every friend working in the restaurant greets you with great energy. The food is delicious, and there are many options for breakfast. The 7th floor view is wonderful for breakfast, dining, sitting, and drinking. Our next visit will undoubtedly be to this hotel. ps: We can't wait to see the hotel's sweetest employee, RENA*, again.…
The hotel staff are really really helpful and friendly, the hotel itself is really clean and a nice environment to stay in. The breakfast was good and the view was amazing. Close to lots of restaurants and a 10 minute walk to Sultan Ahmet city centre and the grand bazaar. Highly recommend and again just to thank the staff for making sure we had an enjoyable and comfortable stay.
You will not fault with this hotel, its staff and the breakfast that us provided.. Our room was small and no view, but it was clean and fresh I appearance. The room is only a place to sleep after visiting sites around the city.. One small negative.. This hotel us sited, like many other such hotels in the area, in a hugely busy street, and trying to organise taxi for going anywhere, whether local flag down or uber, trust me its difficult.. But the staff here really do go way beyond to try and help you.. One person I need to mention is Milyan..( I hope I spelt her name right..) so kind, enthusiastic and caring of your needs while staying at this hotel.. The head chef is a really friendly man asweell.. Very interactive with you the customer.. And the foid spread for breakfast really is the best I've had in Istanbul.. The spa here was very nice but one lady was doing alot of the prep work which did seem unfair on her.. But the experience was pleasurable.. Our mistake was not booking early enough to stay longer, or we certainly wouldn't have moved to another hotel during our stay in the area... No hesitation in recommending to this traveller forum…
Arrived, having booked an economy twin room and were shown to a shoe box without an actual window. Was informed by the Manager that this is standard in Istanbul which is a lie.As a well travelled individual, I feel patronised when second rate hotels make poor excuses for rooms they advertise online which look totally different in reality. We were shown to another room which was exactly the same, but had a window and were told that if we wished to change, there would be a charge of €30 per night! This was only the beginning as the twin beds are tiny, there was barely enough space to sit on the toilet as the sink is placed so close to it and the shower is hand held only. As someone who travels frequently, it was obvious the hotel staff were not going to offer any form of refund or swap our room without charge, so we stayed one night and booked alternative accommodation for the remainder of the holiday. How this hotel is allowed to operate a 4* rating is beyond me, but I would seriously look elsewhere.I rarely leave negative reviews unless it’s really bad-this hotel is pretty grim.…
I was on vacation in Istanbul for a week and I stayed at the Skalion Hotel. Upon Checking In our room wasn’t available because of water damage at the hotel but the staff organised our stay at a nearby hotel. That was maybe the only downside of our whole stay at the Skalion Hotel. The room and the bathroom were pretty clean. The food was also delicious but I must say, that the turkish cuisine wasn’t represented well enough. The Hotel is located in an urban area but the next metro station is only 5 minutes away. For eating and going out I would try to avoid the local restaurant and cafes and head towards Taksim Square, Kadiköy or Üsküdar. The best thing about the hotel is actually the staff. They‘re without exception pretty nice, very helpful and competent! They really helped us going to the best places in the city and were always available. Overall I would recommend everyone who’s visiting in Istanbul to stay at Skalion Hotel!…
Highly recommend this amazing Hotel with fantastic staff. Stayed 4 nights with my family in April 22 , from the moment you enter there is a lovely atmosphere and a great warm welcome ( Umit and Yagmur are so polite , friendly and professional at reception) Then there is Samet to take your baggage to the room, but this intelligent young man is a star in the Hotel. He is so knowledgeable and passionate to make guests stay a memorable one.... thank you Samet. The breakfast is at the top floor with some fantastic views of Istanbul and it was really good . The quality and variety of food is top marks. The Hotel is really clean and the rooms are spotless . The location is really close to all the historical places and lots of restaurants . Finally I have to mention the brilliant Milya at Guest Relations , very informative and professional. She assisted with all requests and went the extra mile to make our visit to Istanbul perfect. Milya you are great , thank you.…
It was amazing stay during my family vacation in Istanbul. The hotel was perfect in every way. Staff was very friendly, helpful and decent. Very good pricing as this was included in my package. Also the hotel location was perfect. They were surrounded by many services (supermarkets, ATM, exchange and restaurants) and all less than 5 mins by walk. Close to the popular areas like Blue mosque, Hagia Sophia etc. which is very convenient for staying. Overall a great experience and I highly recommend this hotel !
