Whatever great review you read is the ABSOLUTE TRUTH. I did my findings and reasearched properly before choosing this hotel, I wish we stayed Longer here.
The room are just as advertised, not so fancy but solid and neat. This place is a gem, you will get the value for your money and the fact that the booking here is budget friendly is mind blowing. Well situated...walking distance to tram station, Grand Bazaar, Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque. The breakfast is wonderful as well even better than a bigger hotel we later stayed in. So many different places to eat from, from low budget to classy and also when you come out of the hotel, on the left and then your first turn to the right there is another square/ food court (2 mins walk) with water fountain. Pet friendly, the staff are helpful and polite. no wonder they got the award for traveller's choice. This is really a traveller’s best choice, NO CAP !!!!

For almost 2 weeks I had pleasant and satisfactory stay at Skalion.
The stars for this hotel goes only for staff and restaurant view, not for the building or facilities.
From checkin till last day, all staff where smiling, friendly, neat and willing to provide decent service.
Best experience obviously was the breakfast, the restaurant got incredible views to feel and enjoy Istanbul atmosphere and the charming sea. For it’s staff, all were kind, but I’d like to give special thanks to Çigdem, every morning she received us with warm welcome and smile, she further was giving us guidance on where to go and how make use of our tours during the partial lockdown.
For connectivity, it’s 8 mins walking (with steep upslope) to T1 tramway to Eminomu and Kabatas and 12 mins walking distance to Taksim and Marmaray metro lines which give connectivity to almost all Istanbul.
The rooms got no noise isolation, clearly we could hear next rooms guest and street noise, the showers got problems with water drainage, it get flooded if heavy water used for long time.
Front side rooms are good, but the ones on the sides got not good air circulation.
Masks were provided and hygiene points are everywhere.
Laundry service is quick and moderate price.
Considering budget travel, it’s a good option.

The hotel is located in the center of the city. Around 15 minutes by foot to Grand bazaar and blue mosque. The road is a little bit upward, with heavy bags could be difficult for someone.

I have visited a few places but never come across staff like which work at skalion hotel, this hotel is 4 stars at best however the staff actually make it 5 stars. The hotel is a perfect location if you want to experience the real Istanbul and it is situated at the heart of Istanbul when I say that I mean it’s a 5 minutes walk from the grand bazaar and the tram line. The hotel provides excellent tours which Veysel helped us with also Taner went out his way to help he literally took me to the tram line and showed me how to use it. Barkans Turkish tea is the best I’ve had in Turkey. Onur was also a massive help whenever we needed him. Me and the Mrs were always kept company at night times in the lobby by Selcuk and Tuncay, we would only ever come back to Skalion if Barkan Taner and Veysel still work there. I’m not even exaggerating when I say the staff are excellent I mean it hence why this is the first time I have ever left a review in my lifetime.

Had the greatest stay with my family this summer. Skalion has the sweetest staff. Everyone was super professional and accommodating. For $300 TRY, they gave us a Turkish sim card with 30 GB of data, which was very convenient during our 2 week stay in Turkey. They also let us leave our luggage in the storage room while we traveled to a different city for a few days too.
I highly recommend this hotel if your looking for good wifi, delicious food, and a great location as the Grand Bazar and Blue mosque are only minutes away (walking distance).

We have had an excellent experience staying here during our first visit to Istanbul! The location was very handy as it was walking distance to the historical sites and had easy access to public transport. The breakfast had a wide range of food to choose from and the rooms were very clean but what made the visit so pleasant was the outstanding service from the hotel staff. From the very warm welcome by the night staff upon arrival, to the moment we left, every member of staff showed genuine concern and were extremely helpful in guiding and assisting us. A special thank you to Veysi and Selcuk from the night team for a memorable welcome and for going out of their way to assist us and make us feel like we are at home - they have been amazing! I would definitely recommend this hotel!

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel which is in a very convenient location for popular sights and restaurants. The room is well provided with free bottle of water, tea/coffee, usual amenities (shower gel, shampoo &conditioner, soap, showecap, cotton buds, hairdryer) in the bathroom. Just be warned that the wall seemed very thin so take ear plugs if you are sound sensitive. Breakfast offered many choices, all very fresh and tasty. Sweet bar was so tempting but couldn't try as we were full by the time we finished breakfast.
Staff are very helpful and ready to help. We used Spa for Turkish bath experience, peeling and foam bath which was invigorating! The lady was brilliant and I highly recommend her treatment.

If you seek a 5 star international hotel in a calm residential area this hotel is not for you. But if you like night life in the crowded city center near by Topkapi, Ayasofia, Sultan Ahmed and the great bazar, you will love this hotel with very good standards and very clean and very most importantly friendly staff who take care of you as their own family. Don’t forget to take a drink in the afternoon on the terrace with one of the most beautiful views in Istanbul. The prices are more than correct and the staff is more than friendly.
There are many restaurants in Ustad street in 2 minutes walk from the hotel which provide excellent food and musicians come and play for the restaurant customers and everyone is happy and dancing. Even if your hotel is far from this area you shall come one Friday or Saturday night to this street and enjoy the happy life! Special thanks to ladies Mutlu and Çigdem who make shine your morning.

This is our second time coming to Istanbul and when we booked our reservations we didn't need to think twice about which hotel we would stay at.
Like previously, our stay was just fantastic.
The breakfast is sublime and full of so many choices, for someone who doesn't really like breakfast, I would fill my plates every morning.
The ambience and atmosphere everyday in the hotel is pleasant, the staff were amazing and so accomodating, especially CIGDEM who I could write a whole review about as she was simply phenomenal and treats you as her own family. Mutlu who was so friendly and always has such a nice smile on her face. So many staff to name but they made the whole stay just amazing.
The staff were very good with their English and a few could speak Arabic.
We definetly plan on coming back to Istanbul and no other hotel would provide us with better satisfaction than Skalion.

My daughter and I visited Turkey from South Africa and spent 5 fabulous night at the hotel. The staff was most helpful and friendly. They guided and booked all of our tours. From the staff at breakfast to the staff at the Spa, all of them went an extra mile to ensure that we were comfortable at all times. The daily wide spread of breakfast served was scrumptious and we were really spoilt for choice. All the popular tourist sites are walking distance from the hotel. Onur and Taner was always there to assist with any extra requests that we may have needed. Above everything else the cleanliness was a 10/10. Skalion Hotel and Spa is highly recommended.

Self service turkish bath is for 10 euro a massage is for 30 euro a full body massage for 1 h will cost you 60 euro but there is a 10% discount on hotels guests
