We was there in September 2023 .This hotel is conveniently situated by all attractions as well as waking distance to Egyptian spice bazaar as well as the grandbazaar.many cafes and restaurants in the vicinity.and a close by to tram ,and metro station .. don't need to take any expensive taxis.

Blue mosque and Hagia sofiya 10 mins walk.sulemaniye mosque 15 mins walk. 10 mins walk to all ferry connect.basically convenient place to stay.

Breakfast was great buffet and plenty of choice.newly renovated dinner area in basement.rroof top restaurants was very nice reasonable prices.

Same as any outside restaurants

Renovated pleasant décor in reception area.

however can't say same for the rooms

Got a very tiny box room like economy room initially.with AC rattling all night After speaking to manager who was reasonable got to choose a little bit bigger or upgrade to standard room for a fee.

The other room was a little bit bigger we accept it .it was clean and a bit better than what we had before.

We had a good stay after all. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Sunah the lady that kept our room spotless clean each Day.Ahmed manager was always available to anything we needed.Tiamor ,Unur were Always happy to help on reception to guide you for and plans to visit sites.

Cem Samad was always happy to help with anything that needed from carry our luggage to and from Room.

Big shout out to all staff they make this place worth staying at.definetely recommended this Hotel .

We stayed in this hotel in August 2023. Location was good with lots of attractions, restaurants and transport links in walking distance. We had a spacious room (was a triple as we asked the travel agent for a bigger room for 2 of us). Beds were comfortable. Pillows were not, far too big and caused neck ache.

Staff didn't speak much English. No safe in the room. We didn't have a working fridge and had to ask more than 3 times for it to be looked at - didn't get a working fridge until the 3rd day. The shower leaked and we had a soaked bathroom floor constantly. We had a back room which was quite loud in terms of street noise - lots of honking cars in Istanbul. Breakfast was below average, nothing labelled and as vegetarians this would have been useful. Very reluctant to give us ice when we wanted colder water considering no working fridge. Air conditioning was rubbish in the room, not very effective.

Conveniently Located, close to eminonu bazaar and the ferry service for cruises and connections across the River to the south side.
Also located 10minutes walk to the Ayasofya mosque complex. (Note be prepared to face a uphill walk).
Staff extremely friendly dnd accommodating. Very decent breakfast, full range of cooked hot and chilled foods.
We had a twin room. Clean, bedding, towels. Would advise bringing your own additional shampoos, Bodywash and soaps. The items provided by the hotel were basic.

Downside. The hotel is located on a side street, but because the tram line has now taken over the main road, all through traffic is now routed outside of the hotel. Traffic noise, especially vehicles sounding their horns into the late hours..

We where first in 212 economy room and even though we was only sleeping there it was very difficult to get organised as room is very small and claustrophobic the shower room was lovely though. We asked to change rooms and we was put in what the call the honeymoon suite which was very comfortable but the shower room was very small. We was happy to pay extra. However the shower room was not very clean, we found a razor cap in the shower and it wasn’t ours. The extractor fun was full of dust looks like it has been cleaned in years.
No coffee mate or milk in the room and only paper cups.
Breakfast no toast, no fried egg. If you want something different you have to pay for it and again no mugs.
I asked twice for toilet paper and they didn’t bring any.
Hotel doesn’t serve alcohol in the terrace
Last day we came down to breakfast at 8.05 as it starts at 8am. No hot food when I asked she claims it hasn’t come yet but it’s ridiculous as it didn’t arrive till 8.10.
Also staff Ned to sort out their personal hygiene out especially the staff in the so called restaurant

When I read the previous reviews I was a bit sceptical but thought it doesn’t matter if the hotel isn’t up to scratch I am only staying a few nights and mostly I will be out sightseeing. How wrong was I ! Right from word go the experience was wonderful. From the cleanliness, top of the range shower pressure to the customer service was just spot on.
I met Temur at reception upon my arrival and he upgraded myself and my two siblings to a family room with a balcony without my asking. The room was spacious and clean with cleaners in and out everyday topping up fresh towels and bedding for a restful stay, only downside there was the room was a bit dated but that isn’t a major issue.
Temur was a god send always happy to go the extra mile. The two young bell boys Bilal and Ilyas were so good and always had a warm smile and even with a language barrier they tried their utmost to be helpful.
The breakfast is not all that great and I was disappointed as I am used to Turkish lavish spreads but the hotel was pretty modest with breakfast, but there are enough cafes and restaurants to try out with decent rates.
Travelling around to all the major sights is a ten minute walk away, the markets are a ten minute walk in the opposite direction so you get the best of both worlds with the location of the hotel. There are numerous bars, cafes and restaurants along the way so you are spoilt for choice.
Overall, definitely the place to stay for my future visits.

This is the worst hotel ever and they do not care about their customers or their well being. Due to covid19 we could not travel to Turkey. Due to covid19 most hotels even the non refundable bookings allowed their customers to reschedule for free or small pricethis one did not they just said we lost our £500. Greedy horrible and not very easy to deal with administration with lack of any compassion. Very rude and disrespectful i did not even want to cancel I wanted to change the date and that was outwith my control because all flights were cancelled by Turkish airlines but those people at this hotel do not care about your personal circumstances once they take their money you do not matter. Avoid at any cost! Never again!

İpek Palas Otel İstanbul
The historic hotel, situated in the heart of Old Istanbul, just a few minutes walk from most of the major attractions, is aptly named. It’s decorated and furnished in a manner befitting an Ottoman palace. The rooms are very comfortable and kept immaculately clean. Although their style is old the equipment is modern with TV, internet, hairdryer and kettle, a very minor criticism is that we would have liked more drawers. There is a beautiful roof restaurant with a panoramic view of the city. The hotel arranged our private airport transfer for less than half the price our daughter was charged by Love Holidays for an overcrowded minibus, and less than the meter fee. They also give a slightly better rate of exchange than the exchange bureaux.
Breakfast is the usual excellent Turkish breakfast of fruits, salad vegetables, olives, eggs, cheeses and cooked meats.
The best feature of this great hotel is its staff, especially Mehmet, the front of house manager, and İlyas, the day porter, who go out of their way to be helpful. This is the eighth hotel that we have stayed in in Istanbul and we will definitely stay here the next time we visit this amazing city.

This hotel looked good in the brochure and on walking through the door it looked good but that was short lived as we were greeted by Mr Grumpy (Timur] who clearly did not want to help us. Once checked in we were taken to our rooms which were in the older part of the building. Two of the rooms were adequate but very tired. The third room smelled of damp and damp was clearly present and it took us two days before we could get the room changed. The breakfast area was good and the food good but limited if you did not fancy something spicy for breakfast. The rooftop restaurant was good with a fair variety of food and a nice view across the Bosporus. There was a good member of staff here - Sulesi - and definitely worth a mention. Paying for the food was expected in cash. The hotel was central for all attractions most of which were within in walking distance. The hotel was just about adequate.

This was my husband and I first time staying in Istanbul. Overall our experience at this hotel was excellent from start to finish ( we stayed 5 nights) the reception/ front of house staff had exceptional customer service they accommodated out every need ( ironed all our clothes etc, gave us Istanbul kart card, gave us water bottle extra towels toilet rolls) nothing we asked was ever an issue. In particular Mehmet, Omar and Alleadin were extremely helpful and polite they showed first class customer service to us and made us feel very welcome. They told us how to get to places gave really good direction. Mehmet arranged for us to have private taxi pick up for our last day with ease. The location of the hotel is fantastic. Walking distance to so many shops restaurants and to the metro/ train station. It is about an hour away from Istanbul international airport though. Breakfast was nice and filling. 24 hour reception very good as it meant what ever issue you had could get sorted out quickly. Staff were friendly, polite and rooms cleaned daily. We will definitely be returning to this hotel

We really enjoyed our stay at Ipek Palas, Metro was in walking distance.
I would recommend Shehzade cag kebab, which is right outside the hotel for food & number 8 in the world of dishes to try.The hotel is clean and nice. My only dislike was at breakfast there was no croissants and the staff were being really dodgy about the turkish round bagel bread, you have to go between 7.30am and 8am to be able to get it. This bread is so cheap Ipek palas just buy enough for everyone to enjoy!!
