The Villa Pera hotel is a lavish and impeccably clean hotel with the aura of a boutique hotel and the comfort of an air bnb in the heart of Taksim Istanbul. It is only a minutes walk to the main Istiklal street where there is abundance of eateries and shopping. The Villa Pera hotel was on point with following all the Covid-19 protocol and the space was kept very clean thanks to the diligence of their hard working ladies who make sure that your room is cleaned to perfection everyday and towels and any other hygienic necessities are replenished. They offer a delicious breakfast also. Each room has its own particular charm. I stayed in the King deluxe with private terrace and it is something out of a fairy tale, the terrace is magical. The area that Villa Pera Hotel is situated in is upscale next to other boutique hotels and its very safe and quiet. There is also a 24 concierge and security which I love. The main asset of this property is Villas Pera's Staff. They are kind, attentive and respectful, and they take the extra time out to make make you feel at home and safe. Any questions you have about the hotel itself to dining options and tours etc they are very well informed and helpful. They speak fluent english and communication was easy for me. Special thanks to Burak who is basically the hotel manager, he went above and beyond to answer my questions and provide me with istanbul travel tips, he even gave me a transit/Metro card to use as a courtesy to make is easy for me to get around if i chose to access their public transport which is very convenient and cheap as well as safe and efficient. The evening concierge Murat is also a kind and helpful gentleman. They both never hesitate to ask how you are doing and if there's anything they can do to make your stay more comfortable and pleasurable. They really both are the gems of this hotel. This was my 6th time at this hotel and I cannot wait to go back. P.S. There were no limitations or inconveniences in Istanbul because of the Corona Pandemic and the entire country is following strict measures and protocol to keep everyone safe. Despite that, I had no issues at all with my travel there and I felt very safe and enjoyed my visit very much. I will keep coming back God willing, to Istanbul & to this property.

Location of the hotel is pretty good, 5 minute walk from Taksim square which is great if you’re flying in (as airport buses stop here) and down an unassuming side street. There are two parts of the hotel, one on either side of the street so keep an eye out as to which one reception is located in.

When I arrived, the receptionist couldn’t be more helpful. He was genuinely interested in where I’d been, helped with bags, gave a thorough introduction to the hotel and area and recommended places to go. He gave a map and marked everything out on there, including the best routes and location of the hotel, which is so helpful! He even called restaurants to make reservations for me and tried to persuade them to let me in even though they were full!

He took my bags up to the room (which was the top floor suite) and showed me around. He explained that the shower glass enclosure had been broken and removed so supplied extra towels incase water went on the floor and told me not to worry if it did. The room itself was clean and very spacious with a double and single bed, sofa bed, kitchenette, dining table, coffee machine and lounge area. Being on the top floor meant the room was very quiet. The room was functional and well purposed, but could do with being decorated in places. My only real criticisms were the water going on the floor in the bathroom (which wasn’t a big deal as it had been explained) and that the bedroom velux window didn’t have a blackout blind, meaning it got bright in the morning. There was also water in the fridge on day 1 but this wasn’t replaced, which would have been handy. On checkout day, lugging my bags down 3 flights of stairs was also a challenge, although I’m sure the staff would have helped it I asked.

Breakfast was homemade and delicious and the cook was friendly and more than willing to cook what you wanted. The courtyard is a lovely place to sit for breakfast.

All in all I had a great stay, but this was made by the fantastic staff! They really couldn’t do enough and I’d return just for them. I’m was a good price and would be a great base is a few people were staying together.

Just a short walk from bustling Taksim Square, and in a really quiet side street,is Villa Pera Suit hotel. We had booked the deluxe room and were amazed at the size of it. It's an extremely spacious, beautifully decorated and very clean Appartement with a bedroom and a lovely living room. A perfect place to come back to after exploring Istanbul for hours. A wonderful comfortable huge sofa to put your legs up and relax after walking along the bay of the Bosporus on the Asian side. A kitchen, complete with everything you need, gave us the chance to make that well earned cup of tea.
After a good night's sleep we went into the basement for breakfast. Goodness me, what a delightful welcome awaited us. In a cosy colourful room with an adjoining kitchen was an extremely tempting buffet. Juices freshly pressed. Delicious homemade salads. Fresh fruit and vegetables. A variety of cheeses and meats. And then the star of the show....Sevim , a delightfully caring woman who makes the fluffiest ommlettes and scrambled eggs you can ever imagine. She also makes the variety of cakes on display.
Any request or questions we had were fulfilled by the helpful competent staff at reception. Thank you Burak. Murat and Ghengis for this. Nothing was too much trouble.
If you want to stay in Istanbul I can more than recommend this place. It's so much more than a hotel.

My room was personally a bit small and on the lower level so internet connection wasn't always reliable but then again, it was the cheapest option so you pay for what you get. Will give it 5 stars because the staff and atmosphere was amazing. The room service ladies were very nice and the breakfast was great. Murad and Anas from reception were amazing. Anas was a funny and very nice guy. Murad gave many great food and travel recommendations. Both speak English so communication is never a problem. Will hopefully come back soon when I'm back in Taksim.

I stayed at this hotel for 8 nights, just checked out. The rooms are spacious, nicely decorated, and very well organized. The staff keep the place and the rooms well serviced and clean. The staff are always ready to offer any help possible regarding directions, recommendations and even change of rooms and reservation. Murad is one of the most helpful staff, you can fully rely on him for many things, his English is very good. He knows a lot about Istanbul, restaurants, nice places and he is willing to help at any time; a very efficient guy indeed. I enjoyed my stay here, the location is very central and surrounded by various amenities, so you won't need to travel to get food, drinks or necessities. Breakfast is generous and delicious; cooked in the house. The building and the rooms are secure and I wouldn't worry about leaving my things (cameras and even money) in the room. I would come back see the room cleaned and everything in place, nothing missing. Prices are reasonable and, compared to other nearby hotels, I found it cheaper. Strongly recommended for families, budget travelers and professional singles

The hotel wasnt clean, stained towels/bedding, Misleading photos, and the bathroom smells strongly of mold. On day 2 we realized there was bed bugs. We were covered in bites, found the sheddings, eggs and adult bugs. We called the staff showed them the issue. They tried to deny it was bed bugs. Claimed it was impossible because they spray the mattresses (not how you get rid of bed bugs.) And it was like pulling teeth to get a different room and to get them to launder our now contaiminated clothes. Horrible management. They moved us to the room right below the contaiminated room and 1 day later we could hear that another guest was in that room. They clearly did not take any reasonable precautions and were argumentative and irresponsible. Honestly horrific experience that I wouldnt wish on my worst enemy.

First of all, none of our towels nor beddings had stained. We check all of them before any check in. Maybe thousands of guests stayed there before your stay, we never had such complaint about bed bugs. We are disinfecting our rooms routinely; we upgraded your room without a charge and washed your whole 3 luggage's of clothes for free. A day after we changed your room, we had another check in in that room and since then none of our guests had any complains about such thing. We done whatever we could for you just to keep you satisfied even thou there was no bugs. Maybe you done all of these for a free upgrade and free laundry service. At the end leaving such a review from you just looks malicious to us. From now on, you are on our black list.

We stayed at the Villa Pera hotel as a group of two families with teenage kids in July 2024. The hotel is located in the district of Taksim, and it is a good area of Istanbul from which to explore the wider city. Taksim square is only a 5 minute walk away, and here you'll find a metro station, a furnicular station, and taxi rank. You can also catch a "Dolmus" here, which is a kind of Turkish mini-bus/taxi that runs certain routes for a very reasonable price. Also there are several shops, and places to eat and drink in the nearby area. If you're from Western Europe, North America, etc., then you do have to remember that Istanbul will be very different from cities that you're used to. So initially the street that the hotel is on might feel a bit "sketchy". However the area is actually very safe, and we came to realise that we just needed to leave some our Western Europe preconceptions at home.

So, big thumbs-up for the location. The hotel itself is kinda basic, but it is reasonably priced, and everything is very clean and tidy. Hotel staff are all pleasant and helpful. Our room had comfy beds, and air conditioning. We also had a kitchenette in our room. We didn't make use of this (eating out is cheap enough in Istanbul), but if you did want to make a very simple meal you could do. However, be aware that the kitchenette is fairly basic, so you wouldn't want be cooking extensive three-course meals in here!

The hotel manager, Murad, was friendly and helpful. He gave us a free map, and explained to us about the local area, including directions to the local attractions. He told us about how to take public transport and gave advice on avoiding various common tourist scams, which we were grateful for.

Only one real down-side to our stay -- Murad recommend to us (and sold to us) a boat trip on the Bosphorus, to include dinner and drinks. The boat was terrible, a total rip-off and tourist trap, and not even clean or safe (see my separate review of the Majestic Bosphorus tour). Clearly this is not the direct fault of Murad, but we did tell him afterwards that he should not be recommending this trip to his guests, as it reflects badly upon him. We tried, and failed to get a refund for this trip, which was not cheap at €65 each.

So if you want a pleasant, clean hotel, with friendly staff, in a great location in Istanbul, then I would recommend the Villa Pera hotel. But perhaps scrutinise any "recommendations" from the management about excursions to take, and definitely do not go anywhere near the river cruise they try to sell you!

Dear Andy, Thank you very much for taking the time to share your detailed review of your recent stay at Villa Pera Hotel. We are delighted to hear that you and your families enjoyed the location and found our accommodations clean, tidy, and reasonably priced. Your kind words about our staff, especially our manager Murad, are greatly appreciated. However, we are deeply sorry to learn about your negative experience with the Bosphorus boat trip. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and disappointment this caused. We take your feedback very seriously and want to assure you that we have immediately stopped recommending this particular tour company to our guests. From the very moment we arrived we felt like home. Murad (the staff in charge) was very welcoming and helped us out with pointing out the places to see on a map that he gave us. Murad speaks very good English and is very knowledgeable and friendly. The suite we booked was very clean and everything was provided. The staff were all very helpful whenever we needed them. The location is a couple of minutes walking distance from Taksim square and Istiklal Street as well as from metro and bus stations, so very convenient. We asked for airport shuttle and they arranged it for us both when we checked it and when we checked out without a hassle. Another staff member (Hamid) also helped us with an online order which was received on time. Overall we had a great stay and we plan to go back to Villa Pera in the future and will recommend it to friends and family. Thank you all for letting us have a great stay!

I am a repeat customer to this boutique hotel the Villa Pera Suite Hotel. The rooms and service were impeccable as always, the breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Despite things only just having restarted from the global pandemic shutdown the hotel and staff have it all running well with all the safety protocols in place. It is located in the heart of Taskim, walking distance to eating, bars, shopping and some of the sights. The rooms are all uniquely and tastefully decorated and designed. Air conditioner and Heat work perfect and always have hot water here. Staff all are welcoming and a special shout out to Murat who is very knowledgable about the city and he can provide you good tips on places to see, where to dine and how to access them. He is a kind gentleman, and also if your interested in olive Oils, he is the Olive oil Expert. Will be booking here again soon.
