Detailed Reviews
If you are looking for a well-positioned hotel easily accessible from the airport, this is the one. By public transport (bus IST 19) you get to Taksim Square for only 18 Turkish Lira (less than 3 Euros). From there you only need a 5-minute walk to a side street hotel, noise-free and yet close to Istaklal Street (which is, among other things, a great place for shopping). The staff is friendly and ready to meet your needs. We were offered a room on the first floor instead of a room in the basement, without charge. Although we wish to visit more sights in 4 days, using the room just to have a rest, it is necessary to mention that everything is maintained at an enviable level, the rooms are clean and tidy, the bathroom is renovated, excellent heating. The manager suggested the easiest way to get to the Asian part of the city (by funicular from Taksim to Kabatas and then by ferry to Uskudar). A walk along the coast in the Asian part I highly recommend: the perfect view of the Maiden’s tower (Kiz Kules), many local restaurants where you can have tea, coffee or eat local sweets. From the hotel it is easy to get to the Galata Tower, which is “must see”, since from its top you have great panorama of the city.

Such a lovely down to earth place in the heart of Istanbul, walking distance from Taksim and the Istiklal street. In this neighborhood, you will discover a lot of hidden gems where you can taste the best food ever. Ottopera staff was so helpful and beyond friendly, Emre, Denniz, Mehmet, Emre and Melih were so supportive and didn’t hesitate to recommend the best places to visit and answer all our questions. The rooms are clean and every day the reception follows up if you want it cleaned or not.

My experience in this hotel was awful. Straight when we arrived, most employees were extremely rude, they would not help with the luggage or even give us the wifi while we wait in the lobby for the check in!!
Regarding the room, it is way too small and had no closets whatsoever. Room service barely responds to your requests and even have a limit to the water bottles you request…its freaking water man!!!
There are many other hotels who are strategically centered in Taksim, so definitely pick those!

The only reason to stay here is because it's close to the airport bus dropoff but there are several hotels even closer. My big issue was the front desk staff. Upon check in they didn't want to help with my large suitcase (there is no elevator). At checkout the front desk guy rudely told me the lobby was closed immediately after check out. I was just waiting for my taxi inside instead of going outside in the snow. If he had any common sense or professionalism he'd know to show some courtesy. There was no thanks or goodbye upon leaving. This hotel has the customer service of a gas station. The rooms are basic and tired. I was there in winter and the room heater was not strong enough to heat the room. This was my second time staying at this hotel, and also my last.

I had a great stay. The hotel is located a couple of minutes walk to central Taksim Square and İstiklâl Avenue, yet in a quiet neighbourhood. The staff is friendly and the rooms are clean and modern, with heated floors. The price-to-quality ratio is great.

You can always tell when owners and staff love their hotel and the Ottopera us clearly loved.
We were lucky and appreciative to be upgraded by a friendly male receptionist/ concierge who offered to help with our luggage. The room was spacious, well appointed, with lots of finishing touches, including slippers and a mini fridge and safe.
Will certainly ly recommend to anyone visiting Isranbul. So central. A stones throw from Taksim Square and excellent value.
Thanks so much xx

Ottopera is my favorite hotel in Istanbul. Its warm welcome, its central location close to the metro and airport buses and its beautiful rooms, make this a stay to always remember. So much so that I have already included it in my plans for next year.

Hello
From new airport (IST) There is public shuttle called HAVAİST and from Sabiha Gökçen airport HAVABUS departing every half and hour to TAKSIM for 18 lira per person.
From taksim station to otel is less than 10 minutes walk distance. Check otel webpage how to get to ottopera from TAKSİM station.
All rooms have free internet.
Best Regards
