The USP of this hotel is undoubtedly its excellent location, situated in the old city and about a two minute walk from the Blue Mosque. Indeed, the view from the rooftop terrace is spectacular - even if the drinks were a little on the pricey side. The rooms themselves are fairly basic but generally has everything you'd need. There are signs of some of the facilities being a little dated (handles of the shower doors needed replacing for example) but I had four comfortable nights sleep here.

Superb experience from this hotel, amazing service from start to end. Their roof top restaurant offers amazing scenic views of blue mosque. Their food was 10/10, they offer amazing breakfast. Their coffee machine was amazing. Finally I would like to say that they went all out to make me feel welcomed

My husband and I had chosen this quaint little hotel from a wide range of options as part of an airline package deal and am so glad we did. Don't be fooled by its small, inconspicuous exterior as all its wonders are on the inside. We were greeted by Mr. Ergun and Baha upon our arrival, who gave us detailed information on the hotel, surrounding area and other parts of Istanbul, which was all extremely helpful. Baha very kindly insisted on carrying our suitcases upstairs as there is no elevator (which adds to its charm) despite suffering a sports injury as we later discovered; for that I am truly thankful and humbled. Our room was spacious, very clean and with all necessary amenities. I must add that I've never slept in a hotel bed that felt as if I was in my bed at home, and I slept like a baby every night of our stay. Super comfy mattress, duvet and pillows. The bathroom sink was a tad on the small side and we could hear the guests in the next room when in the bathroom, but that is to be expected as it is an historical building and didn't bother us at all. The breakfast lounge is bright and spacious and the array of food was more than enough for us, catering for most tastes. Tarik was very informative and kindly helped us plan our daily excursions around Istanbul, giving us transportation tips and other advice. It turned out that he is the hotel manager but you'd never guess as he helps out with everything, which is truly admirable. All in all, each and every staff member made our stay in Sultanahmet a memorable one and we are extremely grateful and applaud them on their expert management of lovely Sarnic, which we hope to visit again.

It’s like going on a date with someone from a dating app and expecting to meet Scarlett Johansson, but it turns out to be Freddie Krueger. A lot of the photos provided by the hotel don’t reflect what the hotel currently looks like now, with the room, reception and garden area looking very worn down, when compared to the photos provided.
My experience at the hotel didn’t improve anything, my room seemed like it hadn’t been cleaned since it was previously used, as the bedding wasn’t laid out properly, there were hairs on the pillow, toothpaste still in the sink and a pair of used socks in the bin.
The condition of the room was also terrible, a curtain was hanging on by a single hook and the robe had several large holes, the double bed was made from pushing to single beds together, but you could easily feel where the 2 beds joined and made it uncomfortable to sleep in the middle. I think the room may have been haunted, as I could clearly hear voices which shouldn’t have been possible with the soundproofing.
It took several requests to reception to get them to look into the problems and after a few hours they managed so sort out a few of them before I gave up and wanted to get some sleep. I was lucky, another guest at reception had a broken shower and the staff were not able to fix the problem or offer another room.
On one evening there was a loss of water for an hour which affected the shower and toilet, when I mentioned this to reception, they just told me to keep my fingers crossed that it doesn’t happen again while I’m in the shower.
If you’re going to choose this hotel based on their photos, my advice is to prepare for disappointment.
If you’re going to choose this hotel based on its location, then there are many other hotels in this area to choose from.

You cannot sleep. Every noise on next rooms, every voice you hear it like it’s the person next to you talking.
Hopefully I was only one night. A TV in Turkish did not stop all night. The mixer in bathroom was half functional.

Honestly one of the worst experiences I’ve had.

What’s Good:
1.) Breakfast was really nice and the breakfast staff were very friendly and welcoming
2.) drinks on the top terrace were really good with and excellent sunset view of the blue mosque.

What’s not Good:

1.) they lost/ cancelled our booking so the rooms we booked were not the rooms we got. Basically told us we could have these rooms or go elsewhere, then tried to charge us more for paying by card.
2.) didn’t have any hot water one whole evening, and we were told we had to wait until the morning???
3.) they want everything is euros despite Turkish Lira being the currency, and only want cash. They are literally the only place in Istanbul that won’t take card, everywhere else (markets included take card).
4.) we were told we could securely leave our luggage for the morning, what they meant was a shelf in the open right by the door, not locked up or anything.

Overall wouldn’t recommend and I’m sure there are better places to stay in Istanbul.

We chose this hotel due to its location. It is very close to the Sultanahmet sights and eateries. Our room was small but guests we were travelling with were given bigger rooms and were happy. Beds were comfy and clean. There is some disrepair and wear, but this hotel has a big heart. Melih was especially helpful and the breakfast room staff were lovely, preparing fresh items daily. Nice view of lower Sultanahmet and the Marmara sea from the roof terrace.

Lovely small hotel in the heart of old town, few steps from most popular tourist attractions is offering real Turkish hospitality. Staff is very friendly and helpful, trying to fulfill all possible wishes and even more.
We with my friend got apology for room without view first night and they moved us to much nicer room next day, even without asking, if we are satisfied or not. The other one was of course bigger and nicer with a view to typical old town courtyard.
Breakfast is simply amazing, very good selection of continental and Turkish food.
Hope to come back one day!

This was a budget weekend from Brussels. We wanted to explore old Istanbul, and enjoy the old city.

The Ottoman-era hotel was a great choice, with great value. We had a hiccup in our initial room assignment, but the staff corrected, with charm. The location is superb -- walking distance to almost everything in old Istanbul, with good restaurant/shopping options nearby. The in-house breakfast and restaurant are good. Very comfortable rooms, if a bit dated, but that is part of the charm.

We would be happy to return.

I picked Sarnic based on the location beside the Blue Mosque and the good TripAdvisor reviews. The reviews were correct. The staff were excellent, and gave great advice on things to see, and assistance in booking taxis etc. The room was clean, enough space, some noise from rooms close by, but great value for money.
The best thing about the hotel is the location, which is right beside the major attractions, and well within walking distance of others such as the Grand Bazaar.
As I was arriving very late, I booked an Airport Taxi transfer for 25 euro. I don’t know if I’d do that again. On the plus side, I t removed the worry of arriving in a strange city and trying to flag a taxi and negotiate a fare. However, although there was somebody there to greet me, I then had to wait about 15 minutes for him to get a taxi, which seemed to defeat the purpose of booking a taxi transfer. Also there were hundreds of taxis right outside the door, and I’m sure I could have got one cheaper.

I'm not sure as we booked a taxi from Ataturk International Airport. There's an app called BiTaksi that you can download and book a taxi from and to anywhere you'd like to go. It's very efficient and reliable. We paid less than 100 TL to get to the hotel from the airport.
