This is not my first time in Istanbul, I visit often.
The hotel has an excellent location, the location is very convenient, both to the metro and to the main attractions. The hotel itself is old, the furniture is old, the rooms are small. There is very little light in the rooms, the bathroom has a small shower, not suitable for large people. There is also no kettle in the rooms, and some rooms do not have a wardrobe.
Breakfast is monotonous, but tasty, several types of cheese, vegetables, delicious buns. Breakfasts take place on the highway with an amazing view of Sofia and the Sultan Ahmet Mosque. Which is a great plus ➕️ 💯, and covers all other disadvantages ➖️.
Considering that most of the time you are outside the hotel, it might be worth considering for unpretentious tourists.

The major problem was the double bed which could only be accessed from one side. The other side was against the wall. I guess it was a single room which they had placed a double bed.A young man at reception was very helpful and assisted us getting a picture on the TV. The other reception staff were quite surly. The dining room on the top floor with exceptional views provided an adequate breakfast and evening meals were tasty but expensive especially if you accompanied it with wine.

Checked into Burckin hotel and greeted by the only staff at work. It only being 4pm would’ve thought it had more staff or even guests.

The guy checked us into a room, which was very surprising. The mattress was on the floor, dust everywhere came back down to inform staff who seemed to be as shocked as myself. later after much negotiation moved me into a different room, which wasn’t any better, the room was really small dark with little air but most Shockingly has no flush to the toilet !! Came back down to inform staff who says he has no further rooms or any maintenance guy to bring round due to the “COVID”.

The next day, the guy switched me into a different room, it was really strange as the hotel was empty so it shouldn’t be very hard to give a different room.

No point booking breakfast too, you are only provided with a boiled egg and a few slices of cheese. No water bottles are provided nor do they supply any which is very strange for a hotel.

This hotel only got 3 stars due to its location, it is situated in a short walk to all tourist destinations, trams and bus links.

First and foremost, if during the reservation it is written that the hotel has a parking lot, we also state during the reservation that we need a parking space, then we expect it. Of course, since it is practically the center of Istanbul, we understand that there is a possibility that it is not there. But if we already give 300 euros for two nights, I think it is their duty to pay us or help us pay the same.
The hotel next to them, Hotel Hali, had an empty parking lot and they could have arranged a place for us with them, instead of sending me and my pregnant wife 2 streets away in the rain to a public, paid parking lot and we had to manage on our own. If we hadn't already paid 300 euros in advance, I would have asked for a refund and given up the room.
Of course, no one offered us help with payment because the parking application cannot be downloaded and payment is only in liras, which, thank God, we had. Their statement was that we should go there, 2 streets away and not pay for 2 days, then they will charge us on the way out of the state. Disgusting way to treat tourists.
Furthermore, the 12 square meters of room size probably includes the balcony, because the room is so small that you can hardly turn around in it. In the toilet they give you towels that fall apart and the inventory falls apart. The shower cabin cannot be closed all the way, the light above the mirror does not work and is about to fall out. To put it mildly, misery and misery. The chairs on the balcony have rotted from the rain and are not usable.
What is somewhat okay is the breakfast, with the fact that on the first day we had an omelette with paprika and on the second day it was not available. That's the only reason I gave it a 2 out of 5. Otherwise I would have given them a 1.
Through them, we booked a trip by boat on the Bosphorus, but that does not work in their favor because it is not their service.

The only good thing about this hotel is its location, apart from this there is not a single thing good about it. We booked two double win rooms with three children but we only found one double bed in each room with the size a bit bigger than a single bed; One room had a small guest bed with a very cheap quality mattress where you can feel every single spring of the bed. Upon asking at reception as we only have 5 spaces for 6 guests, the receptionist was unable to resolve the problem and was so scared to speak to the manager on the phone who was having some private time on the top roof of the same building. As we insisted the manager came down in a very angry mood and said he could not provide the sixth space as we did not request for a child bed in advance. This is so ridiculous and never had this experience anywhere in any hotel. We had clearly mentioned the number of adults and children when booked the hotel but they refused to fix the issue as they said we should have have separately requested for spare bed for a child. We asked the manager if we could speak to someone higher than him who knew how to speak to the guests at a hotel, so he said 'I am the manager of managers here' and I cannot do anything for you. He further said you guys had disturbed me whilst he was having dinner. I told him and my children are tired and starving here as we have been trying here to get space for our child where he could sleep. The room size was so tight that they could only fit those small sized double bed in there. Air Con controller was not working in one of the rooms. Cupboard handles and shower heads were broken in both rooms. I have taken some pictures of the chipped walls and broken skirting board. This manager never said 'Hello' when we first arrived at the reception to check in by the way. I can provide the pictures of the rooms if requested. Don't spoil your holidays by booking with Burckin Hotel.

Poor treatment by staff, absolutely do not go the extra mile to help with any issue. The hotel is old and there are very dark rooms (no lights), hard beds, poor insulation - it blows from the window and you hear everything outside the window as if it were open. Little problem with the heat some days. The toilets are old, bad light, old shower, the drain gets blocked and it leaks water on the floor, impractical sink and tap as it cannot be adjusted. Would not recommend this hotel more than as a last resort because the location of the hotel is perfectly fine.

I had booked a double room, and I checked in at 1 am and the hotel provided that room. But there was no heater working in the room and the outside temperature was 1 degrees. It was extremely cold in the room and there was no way my mother who’s 65 years could not sleep in this situation.

The front desk person was extremely rude, and upon requesting to speak to the manager I was told that he is not interested in speaking. The answer at 2 am was I can stand as Long as I want at the reception and do whatever I wanted he doesn’t care. They had no consideration for a 65 year old lady, upon requesting a external heater they said it’s used by the staff and hence they cannot provide to us.

The reception person walked away rudely and I kept on waiting till 3 am and I had no option to just go and wear multiple layers of warm clothes to sleep.

Next day we were asked to moved to room which is 25% smaller and where only one person could fit in... we refused and there was no option except to find another hotel.

We checked in Legacy Ottoman Hotel which costed me 15$ more but gave me the real five star experience.

So would recommend to take this hotel only if you do not have any other hotel to select.

Overall experience is extremely bad(it’s a one star hotel)

The breakfast is bad as compared to other 4 star hotels
Rooms are way smaller than the price
The staff is not customer friendly and rude
The over all experience is bad

It’s my first bad review of any hotel in my life of 20 years in travelling.

I had great experience at the Burckin hotel in september 2022.
would NOT have been possible with the front desk staff & this young man who helped us with our luggage all the time . The roof top restaurant staff is super friendly especially Wahap Hendemir so personable, help us with all our questions and also gave me ideas where to go and take pictures. The view at the roof is so amazing . The food and wine were super good, especially the l coffee lattes and teas

Front desk was very helpful and dedicated to our experience in every way. Specially calling the 20 taxis we during during our stay

Thank you to the Burckin hotel for the great experience!!

Very disappointing with what I found compared to what I was shown at the airport. The room was very small , dark and beside that the bathroom was dirty. The shower had mold and hairs on the floor. When I told that to the receptionist he told me :"ok, sorry I'll tell my manager tomorrow "and after he ignored me completely. Only service that was nice was the transportation from the airport included in the package.
I don't recommend it for the price.
