The hotel is in a great location, it is clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. However, it is listed as 4 stars but is more like a decent 3 star hotel. If you want convenience it is good value for money, but don't book this expecting an international 4 star experience. You can walk to the bazaars, and get a great Bosphorus cruise nearby. The views are great. The beds are comfy and the showers are excellent. It's a bit dilapidated but clean and everything works. Breakfast is a buffet of tasty salads with tea and a truly disgusting orange drink. They only have nescafe - if you want proper Turkish coffee it's extra, but worth it. Lots of good, cheap restaurants nearby.

Pros:
Good location and value for money. We paid around £300 for 6 nights and the stay included a basic Turkish breakfast.

The bus stop is at a walking distance from the hotel.

Hotel has a shisha lounge and spa (massage, sauna and hammam). They charged us 300 Lira for shisha we ordered and service was very good.

Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, but not everyone could understand or speak English.

The housekeeping did a really good job cleaning our room everyday.

Water bottles and tea/coffee sachets are provided complimentary.

Cons:
Electricity goes for at least one hour every day. The time can vary, but generally it goes off in the evenings which was quite annoying after coming back to the hotel after a long day of sightseeing. On the first day, the hotel staff said it was due to regional maintenance work but during my one week’s stay, I realised it goes daily. The nearby restaurants have generators installed so this means that this is a very regular thing in the area.

Can’t keep iron in the room as they take it back after use, so had to ask for it again and again.

The space between the bed and the wall of the room was very little, so I kept on getting hit by the TV installed on the wall. There is just place for one person to pass through at a time.

Sound proofing at the hotel is quite poor.

Wifi signal was very weak at certain times.

Overall the stay was good, but the electricity is a major problem and it would be nice if the hotel installs a generator instead of letting guests stay in the dark for that time duration.

Negative points :
For a 4 star it is really not deserved.
The hotel needs renovation.
The bathrooms are in borderline fair condition. The sound of flowing water is quite annoying at night. The bedding is quite worn, cleaning needs to be reviewed, there were hairs all over the beds when we arrived.
The breakfast is too limited and lacks quality.

Good points:
The team is wonderful, available and polite, they all take great care. Eren knew how to respond and solve every problem.
The location of the hotel is great. The area is quiet enough for restful nights. Buses are right outside the hotel and connect you to other means of transport in Istanbul for a visit that is completely feasible by transport. Transport from major places like Taksim or Sultanhamet until 1 a.m.

Tiny rooms. Room service is only available every second day. So bad internet connection. Hot water disappears during the day. When you take a shower the bathroom becomes very wet. Breakfast is very boring (same plate with one piece of salami and cheese every day).

I made a last minute decision to stay at Farina Hotel by Cigno... I am happy i made the choice.
Staff were eager to please and provided professional courteous service. Every request i made was provided immediately and with a sincere concern for my satisfaction.
My room was neat and clean and was cleaned and tidied daily.
Only a few minutes walk from: tram, metro, buses, lots of diverse restaurants, popular sites and shopping.
I will stay there again.

The staff was very friendly and the locations is quite good. The hotel is a short walk from the bus, tram and metro. But that's where the upside ends.

The hotel is located in a very religious area of Istanbul which means that they don't serve any alcohol or basically anything else than tea and Turkish Coffee in the lobby bar. The room was very very small and nothing like in the pictures. I booked a double room but stayed alone and the room was small even for one. The bed was tiny and I had no room to move around in the hotel room. The room did indeed have a window but it was facing a staircase outside. The bathroom is horrible as it gets completely flooded as soon as you turn on the shower and doesn't dry before the room is cleaned the next day. It takes very long for the shower to get warm.

The worst part is still the wallpaper-thin walls and door as you can hear every single noice directly into your room as if there were no walls at all. I didn't sleep good a single night as some other guests arrived home around midnight every night and kept walking up and down the hallway and knocked on their friends doors and slammed a door every 5 - 10 minutes. This went on for 4 nights in a row. When I finally thought it stopped on night 5 a family with children stayed in the room next to me and I could hear everything.

I will never set my foot in this hotel ever again nor would I recommend that anyone else does either.

My stay at the hotel was exceptional. The room was clean, with daily housekeeping ensuring everything remained spotless. The staff truly stood out for their friendliness and assistance, particularly Muhammad, whose kindness and support made my experience better. Manager Erin was also incredibly welcoming and accommodating. The service overall was top-notch, and the breakfast served from 9 to 10:30 was delicious and satisfying.

It was really good.
You could have easy access to traditional bazaar, touristic side of Istanbul, the metro, bus, and good transportation system.
About Hotel, it was really clean, well organized, and had professional staff and workers.
The breakfast was good but it could be better. And what I liked most was the safety of this hotel and the clean space of this.
