We stayed at the JW in October 2020. The room were spotless clean, noise-free and felt covid safe with all towels and bathroom kits individually sealed in plastic bags. The furniture was modern and in great shape. The location was also great being in the mist of the trendy district that is Karakoy. I had used my suite night awards to get upgraded as a Titanium Bonvoy member and we got the premiere suite which was perfect to accommodate my family (3 guests). The staff was extremely attentive, kind and helpful. The breakfast buffet was amazing, with a chef helping serve each guest for hygiene reasons. Lastly, we felt very safe at the hotel with security diligently scanning bags of guests coming in as well as taking temperatures every time. This was my 4th visit in Istanbul and it is by far the best hotel I've stayed at in the city, would highly recommend.

For anyone looking for a modern/stylish hotel in a stunning location with amazing staff that gives you everything you need. Then look no further

This is our fourth time to Istanbul and the last time we were there this hotel wasn’t even open.

This hotel is not even a year old so is our first time staying here and what an experience it was.

We chose the location as it is right on the river front and is within walking distance of absolutely everything we always enjoy about Istanbul.
Cafés. bars. restaurants a nice lively bubble is literally straight out of the back door.

You can walk to all of the attractions including the main mosques, the bridges, Gallata tower etc without having to rely on taxis or transport.

The hotel itself is fantastically modern and beautifully well-kept. The rooftop bars and restaurants hold breathtaking taking views of the Bosphorous and the Golden Horn across to the Asian side.

Our room was spacious very light and airy beautifully kept and gave us everything we needed. We had a Executive corner Corner with Gallata Tower view.

All of the staff are super friendly very helpful and genuinely make a difference to your stay.

Although every single member of staff we came across was excellent A few people to mention who were super helpful, Friendly and absolutely fantastic with their service that I can remember are.....Sertap (truffles 😁) Sercan. Sevket, Nihat. Emine. Mehmet , Alperen , Alena. Mevlut, Cem.

Thank you all for making our stay a memorable one.

We’ve booked a hotel for a week of November’20 and from the first minute we have been pretty sure that it had been a correct decision. First of all, the safety measures against the pandemic are in place: the property is properly sanitized (e.g. pens are put into sanitary boxes immediately upon usage), face coverages are available and free of charge. Secondly, the hotel is extremely clean and neat. It is pleasure to be inside. Breakfasts are served on the top floor and the view you have is awesome. Everything is tasty and fresh. The variety is good too. The location is perfect, it takes just few minutes to get to Galata Bridge or Galata Tower by feet. Also, the personnel is really friendly and helpful. The hotel has an a-la carte restaurant, Octo, which is really worth visiting.

A new hotel. Only opened a few weeks ago.

Good:

The location is central to most things, near transport, comfy beds, feels new.

Concierge and checkin were excellent. Security was good.

Alp in the bar “skull and bones” was great. Cool guy.

Bad:

Although the location is central to most sights, it’s in a construction zone with a building being built right outside the front, with lights and noise day and night. Jackhammers, drilling etc. There was a spotlight pointed right into the room at night and work even at night.

I would avoid staying until this construction is complete and then you can have a peaceful stay / sleep. The hotel don’t mention this or show the view for a reason I suspect.

If guests knew the area was a construction zone they wouldn’t stay.

One staff member was asked for help in viewing the fireworks on New Year’s Eve(could they be viewed from hotel, or outside), and they really didn’t want to help.

The shower took 3-5 min to warm up in morning and pressure was low. Strange for a new hotel.

Parts of hotel still not open or yet to be finished.

Needs work:

The service is attentive but needs polish. They can be overly attentive, in the lounge I was on the phone and multiple staff came to me to ask if I needed anything,

The restaurant staff forgot who I was in the restaurant although I was in the hotel for 5 days, not a big deal but a nice touch if people remember you.

The breakfast buffet selection was really limited and the restaurant overlooks the construction zone with cranes obstructing the view of the Bosphorus and scenery,

The restaurant was over crowded in the morning without enough food or seats, they would take cutlery away and have to be asked to replace it, mixed up filter coffee / americano with other kinds,

The auto lighting in the bathrooms turned off way too soon leaving you in the dark.

Overall:

Needs improvement before anyone should pay more than 3 star rates.

Photo is view from the room of the construction which looks like it will take most of 2020 to complete.

Dear Mr. Radice, Thank you for taking your precious time to provide a detailed constructive feedback which we very much appreciate. I am very happy to hear you liked the location and that you were satisfied with check-in process and our Concierge. Alp from Skull & Bones was thrilled to hear he has been mentioned on Trip Advisor! Regarding the construction site just opposite the hotel, we do regret to hear you were disturbed by both noise and the light. It was supposed to end by the time the hotel was opened, but due to different circumstances it is still ongoing. As for the comments about the service, they have been shared with the whole team. All points that you have mentioned will be taken into consideration to make sure everything is up to your satisfaction next time you decide to visit. Our Chef is highly innovative and always use our guests’ feedback to make sure our buffet is up to your taste. In regards to maintenance shortcomings, our Engineering team is constantly working on fixing all the minor issues that might occur. I would personally like to ask you to give us another chance to let you experience the real JW Treatment. Should you decide to do so, please contact me directly at darija.erol@marriott.com so I can make sure every detail is planned carefully. Again, thank you for sharing your feedback with us, and I wish you a great year ahead! Sincerely, Darija Erol Guest Experience Manager

Very close to the key locations of Istanbul but in a quiet and nice area, the romantic weekend i planned went beyond any expectation. The hotel looks beautiful, the staff is very friendly, we felt very safe from the pandemic point of view (masks and desinfectants are everywhere for the customers).
The hotel has city view (to Galata Tower) and also Bosphorus view (and the old Constantinopole) , we chose Bosphorus and from then on, it became an unforgettable experience: the room was AMAZING, all the menus and information were available in the tv entertainment system so it was safety first and the little surpise they prepared for our anniversary celebration was just WOW!

Special thanks to Ms Darija Erol, a valuable asset for JW Marriott Bosphorus!

This was my second visit to the hotel after its grand opening last year. The location is convenient to many parts of the city including the Asian side, which is a quick ferry ride away and within walking distance from the hotel. As mentioned in the title, the treatments available at the hotel, especially by Mr. Guney, are excellent. A body scrub followed by a massage is the best way to deal with jet lag and I felt lighter after the treatment. It was so good, I went twice. The hotel is following the COVID-19 safety protocols and feels like an oasis from the hustle and bustle of Istanbul. The fish restaurants in Karakoy, the Egyptian Spice Bazaar, and the tony shops and cafes are all within walking distance of the hotel.

This could be one of the most perfect hotel properties I have stayed at in a long time. The room (premier Bosphorus view suite) was large and modern with a large separate sitting area, large bedroom, nice shower, and two bathrooms. The bath products were really nice and they were generously supplied. My only complaint with the room (not the hotel's fault) is a lot of construction across the narrow front street that makes a lot of daytime noise and partially obstructs the water view. If you have a Bosphorus view room, I suggest asking for the 6th floor or higher, otherwise it will be partially obstructed by the buildings under construction between the hotel and the water.

My only suggestions for improvements in the hotel are to disconnect the scent machines in the public spaces. I didn't like the perfume scent that was everywhere in the hotel. It actually was so strong that it made my eyes hurt. Second, the restaurant/bar should prohibit smoking indoors, which I think is technically illegal in Turkey, but either way is very annoying for people who don't like smoke while they eat. I only noticed it at lunch and one late night dinner, not at breakfast thankfully. The restaurant food and staff are excellent but I would probably choose a different restaurant just because of the smoking.

The most impressive part of this stay was the service. Everywhere in the hotel, the service was truly fantastic. The front desk, luggage service, housekeeping, and the restaurant were all some of the nicest and most professional people I have seen working in hotels. It was really flawless and personalized. Bravo!

What an exceptional luxery hotel with affordable rooms! I got an amazing suite but the gorgeous rooms facing the courtyard were such great prices that I highly recommend it for both the business and holiday traveler. It’s the best central location for walking to all the historical sites and if you are only there for business you’ll love relaxing on the rooftop deck at the end of your day to have great cocktails, food and service. No other hotel had a better view of Istanbul! Stunning and great Dj or music playing. The Octo restaurant is 5 star food and the breakfast is the best buffet I’ve ever had and I’ve traveled to over 40 countries! My god the freshly made pistachio bread is so good it’s enough to book a room for that alone! The service is 5 star with the friendliest people and the concierge helped me with every thing I needed. The design of the hotel is award winning in my mind because they mix the modern with the classic old original building. It’s so clean and safe snd you can walk to do many outstanding restaurants near. Y. I’ve been to Istanbul 4 times and it’s the only place I would stay it!

A beautiful boutique style hotel in a perfect location.  Backs out to a pedestrian street filled with lively restaurants of every type.  Walking distance to Sultanahmet, Dolmabache Palace, and Taksem square.

Our room was on the higher floors with gorgeous views of the Bhosphorus.  Absolutely worth it to pay the extra for the views rather than face the atrium or the next building's wall.  Our deluxe partial bhosphorous 2 beds room was quite spacious and well appointed.  Bathroom tiny for JW standards but had all the amenities and powerful showerhead.

Room was very clean. Efficient accomodating and thoughtful Gozul kept our room absolutely spotless!  A lovely kind lady.

Amazing service by all staff - perhaps it has to do with the face to face staff engagement by the hotel manager whom I met in the lobby on occasion.

Stand out was Busra at front desk who arranged our PCR test in our room at a very reasonable price and quickly handled a mishap on the PCR documents sent in to us.  Amazing service!

Onur in concierge not only charged our battery packs daily with a welcoming smile but also suggested an airport VIP service that turned out to be worth every penny.  We were escorted from the airport parking lot right thru to the boarding gate.  Seamless. Thank you Onur!

We stayed one week but will definitely be back at this hotel in the near future.  Well worth it!   A well run hotel deserving of the highest rating.

During our nine day visit to Istanbul we stayed in 3 different 5 star hotels of which the JW Marriott Bosphorus was by far the best hotel. We even extended our stay for two nights because we enjoyed it so much. JW is generally a good option but this particular establishment is extraordinary. Very new, very stylish and most important without unhygienic carpets in a location almost unbeatable having direct view of the Bosphorus. Lots of sites are within walking distance and should taxis be no option the tramway stops very nearby. Being myself a HR manger I was in particular impressed by the personnel. It takes a lot of coordination, motivation and investment in order to have perfect staff like this hotel has. Even small things like bookmarks placed on the books on the bedside table or a glass cleaning cloth put next to the glasses show a love to details of the management AND the the staff handling everything at the front. Everybody from the security, the reception to the restaurant was ever so polite and hospitable and above all very helpful in any aspect. Each single member of the staff deserves praise but really most outstanding was the breakfast team who made the beginning of the day simply perfect. A special warm thank you to everybody on the 9th (?) floor from Isvicre. Travelling all over the world I can truly say that this hotel is run in an exemplary way. Congrats! The only point of criticism would be that there is no spit protection at the breakfast buffet which ist though the case in most hotels. With guests talking, coughing and sometimes even eating over the buffet a very unfortunate fact worldwide.

To my knowledge, there is no PCR testing on site. There is a fast and reliable testing site at IST, that takes about 3 hours for z response. As for your room, the higher floors, above 5, should be fine. Enjoy this great hotel.
