Primero Hotel garners praise for its prime location, a stone's throw from Istanbul's key attractions, which, according to guests, makes it a convenient choice. The complimentary breakfast buffet and the hotel's cleanliness receive high marks, with many visitors commending the housekeeping staff. While guests appreciate the friendly and professional service that enhances their experience, some have noted the rooms can be a tad small and occasionally noisy. Due to the hotel being full, we could only spend one night here unfortunately. Ozgul the manager was extremely helpful, even providing us with an Istanbulpass (transit pass) we could top up and use for our trip. We were given a room in the basement with a queen bed and a king bed if I recall. The room was painted a pleasant lilac, and though it was a basement, there were two street level windows with very good soundproofing. Decent breakfast. Excellent location. It is just two short blocks to the main street along which the tram runs and which leads to the Blue Mosque and Aya Sofya. Maybe an eight minute walk to the grand bazaar. I was disappointed to have to leave after one night.

We have been to Istanbul 4 times now and have stayed in various places, but this hotel exceeds expectations in every capacity.

We stayed in a basement quad room and whilst there were only two little windows, the room was very bright and nicely lit up. having a brightly lit room is so important to me, it makes me feel energetic and happy and excited to get up and go. Most hotels I've in Istanbul are very poorly lit.

The room is very modern and homely, as is the bathroom. Beds were very comfy and there were aircon and mini-bar too. The room was cleaned and topped up with essentials during the stay also.

My favourite part of this hotel stay is breakfast. I am so thankful that it didn't have the standard breakfast of beans and fried it and a bit of cereal. To my surprise, for breakfast, they had a very nice variety of Turkish breakfasts, with meats, pastries, cheese salad. they also had a hot breakfast too. basically they had a bit of everything and it was so yummy. Could do better with the juice tho.

Ultimately we had such a pleasant greeting every time by our hotel host, Bunyamin. He never hesitated to facilitate where possible or lacked in hospitality. We have an extremely early flight into Istanbul from London and were so exhausted, but as our booked room was already available he very kindly allowed us to check in to our room early so we can catch up on some sleep and have breakfast and shower before starting our day. We are very grateful to him. Thank you Bunyamin!

I literally have nothing negative to say about this hotel. but I would like to warn, that the surrounding streets are very steep, whether you want to go grand bazaar or Sultanahmet mosques, so do take care. And also the street where the hotel is located is the central shoe wholesalers and its quite busy with staff constantly unboxing their stock daily, so walking through that chaos is not fun.

Overall and amazing hotel!

I'm so glad I decided to stay at this hotel out of the many I looked at. The hotel's location is excellent as it's within walking distance from many great attractions, especially the Grand Bazaar and Hagia Sophia. I can't say enough good things about the staff, they were all very friendly and helped us with everything from our bags to restaurant recommendations. Hanifi made sure we were comfortable and accommodated all our needs, even helping us arrange a shuttle to and from the airport as we had a lot of bags with us and needed a bigger than usual shuttle. Breakfast was also very delicious and fresh with a wide variety. Big thank you to this hotel, the staff, and Hanifi, they definitely made our trip so much better.

Review
My family and I stayed four nights at Primero Hotel during June. Having read reviews and noting that this hotel has won a Trip Adviser award we chose this hotel to stay in during our time in Istanbul. We had booked a family room and when we checked in we were advised that a family was not available but rather 2 double rooms were allocated to us for the first night. This was of inconvenience to us as it meant that we had to take time out of our schedule to move to our family room the next day. We are quite a well travelled family and in the past when there have been booking issues with hotels they usually offer some sort of sweetener (ie drinks etc) however nothing was offered to us. The double rooms offered on the first night were incredibly small. There was hardly any room to manoeuvre once the suitcases were bought to the room (think jumping over the cases to get to the bathroom!). Once moved into the family room this offered a little more space. The location of the hotel is excellent and 2 mins walk from the tram stop, 10 mins walk from grand bazaar and also from the Sultanhammet sights. There are plenty of cafes on the door step. We had complementary breakfast everyday which consisted of the same Turkish cuisine each and every day. Given the majority of guest at the hotel were non - Turkish it would make sense to offer western breakfast or at least rotate the offering - maybe one day Turkish and another day something different. With the family we did struggle to enjoy the breakfast and the Turkish offering is not what we really enjoyed. One compliant I did have was about the iron. We had to request it and return it everyday and one day when it was not returned, the receptionist called us at 745am when we were all fast asleep asking us to put the iron outside of our room within 5 mins. It would make sense for the hotel just to include one iron in each of its 16 or so rooms!

It was my first time in Istanbul as a solo female traveller, and everyone at Primero could not have been more helpful! I am especially grateful to Veysel and Azer for all of their assistance. When I arrived at the hotel, Veysel brought Turkish çai and kindly explained how to get to all of the most popular destinations in Sultanahmet by following the tram line and suggested a number of guided tours that provided pick up and drop off services from the hotel. I did not take advantage of these tours, but I wish I had! My room was very clean and comfortable and made up every day. The hotel has an excellent location within walking distance of all of the major attractions in Sultanahmet (Grand Bazaar, Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, etc.) and it’s placement off the main road means that it is very quiet at night. I would highly recommend Primero and would stay again!

The hotel is situated at a nice location that is not directly at the centre of everything, but not too far from most attractions either. You can definitely walk to most of the well-known places on the European side of Istanbul (assuming you're fine with climbing up and down a few slopes, but that's Istanbul!), otherwise it is less than 5 minutes away from the tram stop.

The staff are friendly and always willing to help with any issue that you might have. They could make arrangements for tours and transportations to/from the airport, or give you advice on how to make the most of your time there. I would highly recommend using their transportation service to get to/from the airport because drivers who are unfamiliar with the area might have issues finding the place because the streets of Istanbul are riddled with narrow laneways that could lead to nowhere even if Google map says otherwise. Do discuss with the reception staff your plans of where to visit or what tour you might want to do because some places are closed on certain days of the week. Although the official currency is Turkish lira, expect to bring along Euros to pay for tours and such, not just at this hotel, but at a lot of other places.

The breakfast is Turkish style, although mostly on the colder side of things. I do wish that there were more hot food though, but this is not a big deal.

Overall a satisfying stay and would definitely be back again if I do find myself on the European side of Istanbul in the future.

When they say that this hotel is within walking distance to important places/objects of interests, they are saying the truth. It is near 'everywhere': the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque (Sultan Ahmed Mosque), Topkapi (just a tad further), the Grand Bazaar. Near Camberlitas Metro that connects you farther to anywhere.
You also find a lot of choices to have your meals, from the very affordable to the famous (you'll find one in the Grand Bazaar), and enough shops to buy your souvenirs or Turkish Delights and baklavas and teas and so on. And carpets, too.
We were having a very short trip in Istanbul, only 3 days, and this is definitely the place to have our 'base' as we seemed to be able to cover everything we need from here.

The hotel itself is a bit smallish. Very neat and clean. Nice interior (new, I guess). Enough breakfast choice: cereal, local dishes, dried fruits, bread, coffee/tea, eggs. cheese, cold cuts. They can also arrange airport transfer at fixed schedules.

All in all, a great place to stay, very good value for price.

The hotel is located directly in the old city center close to the main public transportation and also at walking distance from main attraction, grand bazaar, etc. Staff very friendly, attentive and ready to help. The room, even is smaller than usual standard sizes, has all the needs for a comfort stay. Missing storage space especially if travelling in couple with more luggage and for more days. The breakfast has a limited variety and choices and the hot food is mostly lukewarm or cold while the juice is just a concentrate wrongly mixed. Good deal between price, location and comfort.

I would like to start off by saying Veysel and Yasin were extremely helpful during my entire stay in Istanbul, from complimentary wake up calls, to letting me know where to eat, taking my laundry out for me and returning it back folded and ironed. They were superb. They even set me up with a couple tours that had me picked up from the hotel and brought back. Also, the location of the hotel is solid. A couple minutes away from Haga Sophia & blue mosque. Thank you to the crew for a great stay. I would recommend primeiro hotel
