Was decent hostel except air conditioner set temp at 23 everyone in the room was hot and had difficulty sleeping. The breakfast was small but decent.. the beds were comfortable and the staff was helpful except the foremenchoned.
Good hostel, maybe the location is not the best, but it is close to blue mosque, there is 4 floors without lift, so be ready if you have heavy luggage. Wifi is good, room are good, but not privacy in bed(not curtains). Breakfast is ok for price and it was a wonferful rooftop
The hostel is a good choice for budget travelers. Bed is comfortable, rooms are clean, bathroom are neat. Close to major attractions. Nearest metro station is around 1.5 kilometers. The area is fabulous with many restaurants on the nearby.
Location pretty good to the main Istanbul attractions and near the tram stop, however the area was not the safest and often felt vulnerable walking around at night. Nice roof terrace area. Bedrooms were quite small and our air con broke twice and started leaking, however this was sorted out. Mould on the bedroom ceiling and beds were very shaky. Bathrooms were not the cleanest and there was mould in the shower. The toilet in the reception area was however very clean with a sociable area to play pool or sit. We were given free drinks on arrival and the hostel cat was very friendly. Staff were polite and sorted out any problems we had. Right next to nice restaurants which were good value for money. Breakfast was very limited.
I had a very quick visit to Istanbul, this hostel was fantastic. Great location and really helpful staff. I booked through a booking app (hostelworld) and had no issues. My room was quite small but very comfortable, also had a private little balcony too which was really nice. Free use of large lockers in the rooms as well. I loved that the top floor was a rooftop common area, so cool! I had an early flight so I missed breakfast but the staff were really helpful in explaining how to get to the airport which I appreciated.
I stayed for 4 nights in females room. First, I discovered that there is no lift and I had to carry my luggage through 2 narrow-steps flight stairs. Second, the room was very small and there was a big difference between the photos and reality. I couldn't sleep at night even when I am tired because of the very noisy restaurants nearby till they finish after midnight. There was only 2 toilets for the entire floor and sometimes I had to wait for my turn to use the toilet. There was no ironing service and I needed it. The breakfast was good. Finally, I stored my luggage in the luggages room which was 1 floor down the reception and I struggled with the stairs again. It was a very bad experience, I was happy during leaving and would never go there again.
Stayed here with a group of friends during a two day visit to Istanbul. The rooms are spotlessly clean with comfortable beds and great secure lockers to store your luggage (you will need to bring a padlock for these and they are available to purchase at reception). The dorm rooms sleep a maximum of 6 people which is a great number and not overwhelming. The bathrooms are modern and cleaned to a good standard and a kitchen facility with communal dining area is available. The best part about this hostel is the communal bar area downstairs. Beer, water and soft drinks are sold at very reasonable prices, and hot drinks are available free of charge at all times. Although we found it a little tricky to find in the dark and very thick fog when we first arrived, it is in a great location and within a 20 minute walk from the main attractions of Istanbul.…
This hostel is located very well to all the tourist sites and is in a safe neighbourhood of Istanbul. Although we found it hard to find, when it was day time we realised it is quite easy to find from Yeni Kapi station, (approx 15 min walk). The hostel rooms were very good. They were clean and the beds were comfortable and there is secure lockers to safely store your valuables (bring your own padlock). The bathrooms were very good however one of them did smell quite bad but you do get used to it. On a good note though the bathrooms are cleaned every day and are cleaned well. The breakfast was not amazing I must admit but it did a job! If you want something light and simple then it is great but if you are looking for a big breakfast then go out to find somewhere else as Istanbul is very cheap! The coffee machines were brilliant though and were available to use at all times. Great touch! The staff were kind and helpful and had a sense of humour. I will certainly go back to Hanchi if and when I go back to Istanbul and will recommend it to all my friends and family upon a trip to Istanbul. Thankyou Hanchi ! Look for this square with the resteraunts in the picture provided as this is where Hanchi is located! …
Amazing experience in the hostel with free breakfast so filling for just a $12 dollar promo. You can't beat that. however it was 20 minute walk from the subway station. There were many hotels in the area.
Good thing -The cheapest hostel in Istanbul I think -Clean! Room, bed and overall... good:) -Staffs are good and friendly -Good free breakfest for starting the day -Wifi is quite good connected at room (But sometimes, some of the rooms are not really connected.) -Location is the best Bad thing -Quite noisy at night from outside, because many restuarants are opened and people are singing.. til the night -Some of the rooms' door handle is broken. It was really not easy to open.. plz fix it quickly -Really a lot of Chinese in this hostel. Maybe about 70% of guests are Chinese. They were always using the kitchen together, so It was not easy to use the kitchen everytime
