We had a top floor River view room with a beautiful view over the garden, the River and the bridge. We did not expect it to be in the heart of the tourist area with bad and expensive food. Duy was a great help finding better restaurants with good local food. He also made good suggestions for things to do and see. In general the staff was friendly and spoke good English.
This is an impressive old-school hotel building and perfectly situated to look around Hue. The staff were extremely helpful and even helped suggest restaurants and the helped top up my phone credit! Duy was one staff member who researched restaurants and drew me maps to get there. He was excellent. The weather wasn’t good when I stayed but I did enjoy the pool and beautiful garden for a short time. The only downside was the rooms had uncomfortable furniture and nothing to sit on on the balcony but the view was only taken in by standing anyway. P.s. the hotel was well equipped for the Corona virus with face masks and hand sanitizer throughout the building.
Hotel has wonderful view on the Parfume river on one side and is just across the best food and shopping on the other. I can’t understand reviews I’ve read before writing mine because our experience was totally opposite: the room (413) was clean and spacious, in the bathroom everything worked properly, I asked for additional pillow and it was in the room shortly... like we weren’t in the same hotel... The staff is extremely kind and helpful, the breakfast excellent, you can choose to seat on the terrace with this amazing view. I will recommend this hotel to my friends!
Got to Hue and had an extremely helpful young gentleman Minh assist us with booking tours. He has made our stay at Century Riverside most enjoyable. His customer service skills are exceptional, to point that we could all learn something from Minh and his dedication and enthusiasm for his job. This young man is sure to go far. If you need tour booked his your man!!
We stayed here for 3 nights. The hotel had a grand entrance with step leading to a grand lobby. The hotel is in a brilliant location, next to the river and opposite walking street. The pool area was nice with some loungers and umbrellas. There are several things I really didn't like about this hotel... firstly at check-in our bags were snatched from us by the bellboy, we tried to protest but was ignored. This should be a guest choice on whether or not we want this service. It can cause embarrassment if the guest isn't prepared. Reception demanded they keep our passports which by law they donot need to. By law foreign visitors have to carry photo I'd on them at all times. How can we when the hotel keeps the passport. Our room was ok, very dated. The bathroom has a very old mismatched bathroom suite. There was mould on the tiles, around the bath and on the shower curtain. We had to ask reception 3 times for 2 extra pillows and it eventually took them nearly 5 hours to give them to us. Breakfast was ok. The bread and pastries were nice and fresh I did feel that the staff were watching us in the restaurant and were following us along the breakfast buffet. Clearly they were bored with nothing else to do. In fact, the staff in general seemed to be bored. The pool attendant spent all day in a room on his phone with his feet up on the table, yet had not put the mattresses on the sunbeds. Then for 2 minutes he'd grab the net and half heartedly swish it in the pool. Housekeeping were by far the most annoying. Every morning from 7am they woke us up by shouting into their walkie-talkies in the corridors. But I will say that the chambermaids that cleaned our room did a good job but the mouldy bathroom is beyond their control now and needs ripping out and replacing. I have travelled a lot and stayed in hundreds of hotels and this one ranks as one of the worst for customer service. I did not feel like a valued guest and I would not recommend staying here.…
