The Ambassador Hotel Bangkok receives a mix of feedback. While its central location is frequently lauded, making it a convenient base for exploring the city, opinions on the rooms vary, with guests commending their cleanliness but criticizing the dated decor and occasional maintenance issues. The service quality also divides opinion, with reports of both friendly staff and slow check-ins. The Ambassador Hotel Bangkok offers a mix of convenience, comfort, and affordability in the heart of the city. Located in the vibrant Sukhumvit area, it is ideal for travelers looking to explore Bangkok’s dynamic shopping, dining, and nightlife scenes. The hotel’s proximity to the Nana BTS Skytrain station is a big plus, making it easy to navigate the city.

The hotel boasts a spacious lobby, a range of room types, and various facilities such as a swimming pool, fitness center, and spa. However, some areas of the hotel, particularly the older rooms, show signs of wear and may benefit from modernization. The newer, renovated rooms are more appealing, providing a higher level of comfort.

The breakfast buffet offers a decent selection of both Thai and international dishes, catering to diverse palates. The staff is generally friendly and attentive, though service can be inconsistent during peak times.

While the Ambassador Hotel isn’t a luxury property, it offers good value for money, especially for budget-conscious travelers seeking a central location. With its mix of amenities and accessibility, it remains a popular choice for visitors wanting to explore Bangkok without breaking the bank.

Dariena at the front desk was extremely helpful and friendly. She helped my friends and I with a quick check in. She asked for a 1000 baht deposit for each room and when checking out you get it back when you give the cards back. She also asked for our passports and helped us get checked in easily.

Thank you Dariena.

This is a large hotel catering mostly to the tours operated by Desi tour operators. The standard rooms as offered lack basic amenities. Two double beds in a room only have one side table, the shower temperatures regulators don't work and you might get scalded if not careful. The toilets tend to get clogged easily. Overall outdated rooms with musky smelling corridors. Best part of the hotel is its central location near the Nana train station. The only redeeming feature of the hotel is its sumptuous breakfast which offers a large variety of tasty food.

Got deceived by hotel location and photos , from outside hotel looks gigantic with multiple towers and lavish lobby. It finishes there, the moment you step in to room all gets vanished. Rooms are fitted with heaters rather aircon, lobby was much cooler than room.

We had spent 5 hours in hotel lobby upon check in for room change, changed rooms provided were also in same state. Duty manager was not assisting and called that we can’t expect cooling as in homes and whatever temperature hotel maintains is standard- it was a good joke. During this 5 hours process we found there were long set of people queue for same issue.

Upon lot of arguments they guaranteed to provide a better room however with extra charge since room category is different. In my travel experience, it is first time I heard that for aircon to work properly we need to pay additional amount and switch rooms . This is the same solution provided to all guest who waited , looks they are expert in charging additional money.

Hotel management knows issue with aircon and shouldn’t have listed the room category for booking however they still promote people to book and then charge additional upon check in.

I usually don’t provide negative feedback , but this hotel is one which needs such feedback .

Only positive is hotel location , however there are other hotel with same pricing with better aircon facilities and responses.

Will not definitely be recommended

The hotel is having work done and the builders drill and work until midnight and start again at 6am it is SO NOISY
I have never stayed in such a noisy hotel the work and the people shouting constantly throughout the night
The room stunk of damp and when we told reception they didn’t care
They told us we could upgrade so we looked at upgrade room and it was just as bad
We chose to go to an airbnb for 3 nights to get some sleep
The breakfast is awful
You are sharing it with at least 100 people at a time
Everything is cold
And there is no hygiene at all, it’s gross.
The location is okay
10 minute walk to sky train
There are bars and restaurants around hotel but choose carefully as the Indian restaurant outside the hotel in the mall part had a rat on the worktop when we walked past!

Traveling to this hotel is convenient. The nearest BTS station is Nana Station. You can walk from the station to the hotel in less than 10 minutes. There are facilities such as a swimming pool, but it is quite deep. If children play, there should be an adult to take care of the swimming pool. There are lifeguards to look after and protect you at all times. But it is recommended to always look after small children under their supervision. Breakfast is served from 6 am to 10:30 am. The room is not too big or too small, but I chose the Superior room in the Sky Tower building. I like the privacy. The hotel is very big. Mr. Chaiwat gave detailed and very good advice on using the various services. The hotel team helped without refusing to help. Thank you.

If you are reaching early morning then must pay some additional charges and take the room as they will not give room before 2pm. This is the only drawback in foreign countries as they can't accept the request as well.
We have 2 rooms booked one in square wing and other one is in sky wing so always book a sky wing as it's new and much better.
Overall stay was good and hotel location is also good.

When I checked in, I was told by the front desk associate that it was mandatory for all guests to give 1000 Baht deposit. When I checked out, I already packed my bags and the receipt with it. They refused to give me back my money unless I produced the receipt. I thought that this was very dishonest of them and I would never return to this hotel. Since it was mandatory for ALL guests to give a deposit, they should in good faith given me back my money. Additionally, the room had a very bad odor and the A/C barely kept the room cool. And the food (breakfast) was not worth it, no flavor.

Dear Sir/Ma'am, Thanks for sharing your experience with our team, We're sorry to hear that we didn’t quite hit the mark here. We always strive for high standards of customer service. Unfortunately during your visit you faced some service deficiencies due to our system error that cause the record refused of return money issues. We have been rechecking of the air con that weren't working properly. Our electrical engineers, and technicians were working hard to resolve them but unfortunately they took very long time, and your all stay was disturbed by our AC system. I really regretful for all the service deficiencies that force you to complain during the stay. Sincerely, Chonmani Thongchuai Sales Coordinator

Our stay at Hotel Ambassador was excellent, as usual. The perfect location, with everything so close by makes the stay comfortable.

The staffs are ever friendly and make their best efforts to make the stay pleasant. A special mention of the housekeeping staff, Mr. Lwan Wai, who made his best efforts to make us feel comfortable and welcomed. He is amazing. Will be staying again.
