Somook/ So Vie was really friendly and helpful. I was really impressed by her hospitality and warm attitude. She made my experience at So Bangkok so much better. Me and my friends really appreciate her service -Kitae Yoo (kitae03730@gmail.com)
Nice atmosphere and view of Lumpini garden. Staffs especially Khun Arm is hospitable and attentive. There is a wide variety of drinks and snacks available. The free flow drinks are excellent. You can try each one of them. Freshly squeezed orange juices are my favorite.
We’ve had a set of afternoon tea here at Mixo 9th floor. The whole experience was great. Mixo got one of the best views of Lumpini park. The afternoon tea set was huge! It also came with free flow drinks. The hospitality by staff especially Arm & X was 5 stars. Highly recommend.
Great experience. Beautiful view of lumphini park. Service quality is good and prompt. Stayed with wife and kid. Would like to compliment staff Arm and Ex for their attentive service. Would definitely return again
The staff (Arm,EX) friendly and the view is good!! ^^The dessert is delicious and the atmosphere of the hotel is good. I want to come back again ! The tea is delicious I think it'll be an unforgettable memory in Bangkok
Very friendly staff, polite and has positive energy. Made my day. My friends and I accidentally spilt a cup of mocktail and the staff helped us out very well. She was happy to help us clean the area. We didn't expect a new drink from the spill, and she got us a new cup, which was lovely. Thanks again! My email: msk050199@gmail.com
Definitely a good hotel with very good location in Silom. However, the check in time took too long. We waited 3.5 hours to get our room ready. And we can see not only us but the other visitors have to wait for the check in as well. So be prepared to wait for your room. Friendly and helpful staff. Room is clean and spacious. Though good variety in breakfast but the taste and options could be better for a 5 star hotel.
When it comes to hotels in Bangkok I don’t think you can go past So/ Sofitel. This was our 6th or 7th visit, and even with 2 young children, 7 year old boy and 5 year old girl it was one of our most memorable stays. We stayed a little longer than usual, 5 nights as part of a Luxury Escapes package. The Check In We arrived before their standard check-in time of 3pm. On arrival at the hotel we were met by the concierge team who unloaded our luggage from our transport and escorted us up to the Executive Lounge for check-in. We were all provided with cold towels and welcome drinks and escorted to our room, a So Studio Room which was between 65-74 sqm. The Room Rooms are themed - we stayed in the Earth element room, 2218 located on the 22nd floor overlooking the busy North Sathon Rd. To say it was blue would be an understatement, such was the vivid and bright colour of the room. With a family of 4 from a size perspective, it was quite manageable. There is a small lounge/chair coffee table, a desk and minibar that is stocked with drinks and nibbles (all complimentary) and replenished each day of your stay. The floor to ceiling windows provided views up North Sathon Rd towards the Chao Phraya river. Great for watching the hustle and bustle of Bangkok’s traffic pass by. The room has a large comfortable bed. The bathroom has a large free standing bath, large walking shower (rain and standard) and toilet. I would have preferred that the shower be where the toilet was so you could watch the delights of Bangkok whilst showering. Sofitel So provide complimentary bath salts as well as many other amenities like toothbrush and toothpaste. The Food …..is nothing short of amazing. Fresh juices, coffee and lattes. Smoked fish (salmon, snapper and mackerel), cured meats (French ham, Pistachio Mortadella, Chicken Mortadella, Salami and Beef Pastrami) , cheeses (too many to list), fresh fruit, ice creams, flavoured milks, pastries, and the regular selection of Western and Asian hot foods. The hot food offering is extremely large and you would almost have to stay at this hotel for 2 weeks in order to try everything that is on offer. The egg station is very good and unlike other hotels where you often have to wait for your eggs/omelette to be cooked, at So they cook them and deliver them to your table. There is the usual Asian section with freshly cooked noodle soup, dim sum and Japanese offerings too. My personal favourite is the fresh coconuts on offer. Breakfast here is truly a great way to start the day whilst taking in the views of Lumphini Park and the Bangkok skyline beyond. Our complimentary Sunday Brunch (part of the Luxury Escapes package) was a buffet at Red Oven restaurant with regular buffet items like seafood, meat, desserts etc etc. All of which were very good. A personal favourite of mine was the Alaskan Crab and not far behind, the Oyster Station. We had the 3 hour free-flow sparkling wine package for just over AUD$60 per adult. The Facilities The pool area has fantastic views over Lumphini Park with the vast Bangkok CBD skyline in the background. The pool temperature, was very good and not as cold as it’s been in the past which was a pleasant surprise. This pool would have to be one of my favourites for its views, ambience and music. There’s a DJ playing funky beats while attentive staff pour refreshing beers and offer well mixed cocktails. I didn’t use the gym but it is located overlooking the pool and appears to have all the equipment you could need for a thorough workout. Also part of our Luxury Escapes package was a 1 hour massage. It was what you would expect from a 5 star hotel. The ambience was very relaxing and the massage itself was perfect. Hi So Rooftop bar on the very top level of the hotel once again offers the best of views and is a great place to share a drink at dusk. It isn’t mobbed with crowds and you can get a drink within a minute or 2. One thing which we did find surprising was that this bar appeared to be a separate business from the hotel and we were unable to charge our drinks to our room. The Executive Lounge is smaller than some but offers a quiet and comfortable atmosphere. A variety of food and drink (cocktails included) are available for canapés from 4 to 6 every evening. This 2 hour time slot is perfect as it still allows you to head out for dinner whilst having some pre-dinner drinks at the Lounge. The staff here were extremely attentive and really looked after us and our children. Our children especially liked the popcorn machine. The Service This is without a doubt what separates So/ Sofitel from the rest. Absolute A Grade service especially from Nick Danial, the Guest Experience Coordinator and the Executive Club Team, who were always on hand. They have such an amazing team I can’t speak highly enough of them! The Location Lumphini Park is directly opposite the hotel and is well worth a stroll around, even if it is just to see the monitor lizards roaming freely. Lumphini MRT station is a 2 minute walk and provides easy access to various parts of the city, including the Chatuchak weekend market and Chinatown. Sala Daeng BTS is a short 7 minute stroll with Siam BTS station is only 2 stops away from Sale Daeng. At Sala Daeng there is an abundance of street food vendors. Endless options for meals and snacks out with the hotel setting. Checkout Efficient and the hotel organised a taxi to the airport (BKK) for a very reasonable 600 THB price. There is no place like SO/ Sofitel - it’s not your typical hotel which is why I like it. Although large it has a boutique feel about it. As it’s very modern, arty and quirky it will divide opinions on taste. This is an amazing hotel and most definitely my preferred place to stay in Bangkok. If I was to rate this out of 10 I would give it 9.5 (there’s always room for improvement). Hands down my most favourite place to stay in Bangkok!!!…
Has been a Accor Plus member for many years until Covid happened. Just started to travel again and thankfully Accor still retained my previous membership status. Booked the stay for my birthday, and the team has been very accommodative to various requests. Love the proximity to Lumpini Park for morning runs and Sala Daeng BTA Station for good street food choices. Highly recommended if you would like to stay in the SIlim/Sathorn area.
