Reliable transportation is essential for a hotel enjoyed mainly during a layover. We were met at the arrival gate by a lady with the hotel sign. We waited only 5 minutes for the free shuttle to take us to the hotel, and when we returned to the airport, we boarded the shuttle with three other guests a few minutes before the agreed departure time. The trip took 20 minutes both ways.

Our room 2211 was reasonably large with a view of the city and the main road. We had a very large bed and a view of the city from a window by a round table decorated with a pretty vase of artificial flowers. We could hear the water flowing whenever someone near us was taking a shower. The wi-fi was reliable. We had a choice of at least two restaurants in the hotel for dinner.

The breakfast was not special or memorable in any way, but it was included, and it was filling. We couldn't check out of the hotel before we turned over the key cards, so we waited until the last minute.

The price was very reasonable because the convention hotel is located outside of the city center. We recommend the Grand Four Wings as a very good value for an overnight.

The hotel has an odd policy in respect of incidental charging to the room now. They happily block a deposit on your card but do not allow anything from the restaurant or bar to be charged to the room. All incidentals must be paid for as they arise. Very odd. This was not communicated at check-in. It makes a 6 night stay a little awkward. The basement grotto restaurant is quite expensive - a bottle of local beer is over 300 baht. Better to eat at the local restaurant behind the hotel. You can take your own alcohol from 7 11 next door and the prices are very reasonable.
Could be the incidental policy is due to an extremely empty hotel (cash flow issue) I had a very odd explanation from the reception supervisor regarding why the policy had changed.

Stayed here 1 night due to a cancelled flight. The hotel was presentable and the room was spacious. Only issue was with cleanliness of one of the beds which sheets had some hairs on them but management quickly arranged house keeping to come and change the sheets. The location is not really near anything too much to do however it is a handy 20 minutes from the airport. Good buffet breakfast options

We were a couple on holiday and stayed for two nights in Bangkok before going back home to Norway. The hotel is lovely and the food and room service superb. Very affordable price for a great room on the 29th floor with a spectacular view over the city. The staff in the reception could be more friendly, they seemed busy and only semi-interested in the guests. But the service otherwise was good and we enjoyed our stay.

Stayed here one night and a full day before having to be at the airport for a 21 hr flight. I felt it was the perfect place to be able to relax after the hustle and bustle of our 2 1/2 week trip in Thailand. The room was clean, cozy, big and so was the hotel. I always saw staff cleaning especially at the breakfast and by the pool area. The breakfast had a lot of choices from thai and western dishes. Assortment of juices, pastries, bread, salad bar and a soup bar that was very good. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Only Con would be is that the pool area looked like it used to have a swim up bar but was closed for renovations but there is a menu and staff up there that you can place an order with.

The hotel was amazing. Very beautiful and quite big rooms. Loved the big bath with a view to the room. Can hear the traffic during the night, so not quiet at all. Staff was really polite.
All the food were amazing. Room service was very good. Nice areas for business.
Very clear and tidy.

This is worthy of its 5 star rating and the views from the hotel room are amazing. Everything is immaculate, the service was impeccable and the main restaurant in the lobby was equal to the best I've been to (and I have been to the Westins and Shangrilas). It is only one year old so everything is ultra modern. Love the bathrooms. Fantastic value for money. It is about a 15-20 minute ride to the airport if there is no traffic (which means outside morning and afternoon rush hours). The hotel's complimentary airport shuttle is a nice touch. This being Bangkok you cannot walk more than a few steps without tripping over a shopping centre and this hotel is less than 2km from one of Bangkok's largest - named The Mall. It's about a 10 minute taxi trip from the hotel for only 50 baht and for the adventurous (and fearless) you can walk the distance. This hotel seems very popular with airline cabin crew and hey, what's good for them is good enough for me. You should try out the cheap and cheerful but exceeding neat and tidy thai massage shop in the same complex - best Thai massage I've ever had (and I am a spa afficionado so I've had massages from lots of different places)

Taxi fare from the airport with no traffic was about 250 baht.

One cool tip - in the back of The Mall (through the food court and then through the carpark) is the ferry stop - for only 20 baht you get to do three things:
1) live like a local and travel down the klong in the real thing - no fancy gondolas here but the real working mans ferryboat, complete with the hydrating mist of canal water that is kicked up by the ferry as it speeds past
2) do a bit of sightseeing - especially the buddhist temples and a mosque or two on the riverbanks
3) beat the traffic and get from Bangkapi to the mecca of shopping that is called Pratunam, in about 35 minutes.
One word of caution - Manolos and ferries do not mix. This is the time to wear Havaianas or your Hush Puppies. You literally jump from the edge of the ferry onto the little pontoon. This ain't the Monte Carlo marina.

I was travelling with my elderly parents. I booked 2 rooms.

My parents' room reservation came with breakfast. However, in the morning when they went to restaurant - they were told that their room reservation didn't come with breakfast.

I brought this to the attention of staff members when checking out. They had no records and I had to show them the print of the room reservation. This is very bad and embarrassing for the hotel.

My parents are in their mid 70s and my father is diabetic and needs to eat regularly. We had to wait for an hour before we got to the airport so they could have breakfast at the Suvarnabhumi airport.

We only stayed for one night but the room was amazing. Everything looked new and there was a nice view of the city. I really enjoyed the breakfast, which was included in our service. I would definitely stay here again.

I also really enjoyed their free service to and from the airport.

We booked this hotel based on a search through Agoda. It stated that it was an airport hotel, near BKK airport, and even the hotel's website stated that it was "easy access" to the airport. Since we are semi new to Bangkok, and using this hotel as a quick night's sleep before we return to the airport early in the morning, we didn't realize how much INSANE TRAFFIC there would be from the airport to the hotel. It is NOT convenient if you are arriving near rush hours, which in turn does not make the a convient hotel for the airport. A 10k taxi ride took 1 1/2 hours in stop and go traffic. When we expressed our frustration to the hotel's assistant manager, she was not very helpful and claimed that the hotel is not an airport hotel. However, she started to change her tune when we showed her thir website, where it states that it is an airport hotel. In the end, they did give a small discount for dinner (since we couldn't leave with all of the traffic). Final word: do not stay here if you need to travel to or from the airport during rush hour. (Our taxi driver said that it would have been faster to go all the way into Bangkok than stay at this place.)

How do you request transportation from the airport to this hotel? Do they have a working website?
Answer from Tim K

AlohaPam, Yes, there is a shuttle bus and a website. Just search for 'Grand Four Wings' You can download the shuttle bus timetable from the Facilities section of the website. FWIW, There are also pretty well-priced taxi services in Thailand. Hope this helps
