The staff were nice and helpful. The airport pickup/drop off service was useful especially when my flight was delayed for 1.5 hrs and they waited around. The room was clean and big. It's in Thamel which is the central tourist district so everything is accessible. Would return.
Our stay at Hotel Jampa was really great, so much so, that we came back after our safari trip to stay there again. Excellent service, the breakfast buffet is good. People are so friendly and helpful. The location is in central Thamel where you can walk safely with several really good restaurants and stores everywhere. This place is clean and covid safe.
This hotel is a little gem, located in the heart of Thamel but, in a quiet street away from the hustle. The staff were so friendly with excellent customer service. The food was great and the rooms and modern and clean. The two receptionists were always ready to assist with recommendations about places to visit in Thamel, their customer service was amazing and their English was very good. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a good hotel in Thamel.
Overly Priced for the average room w no breakfast included. Staffs were friendly and good. Overall Disappointed w the price kinda expensive. Would definitely not visit again. Namaste. Thankyou Jai Nepal
Hospitality: 5 / 5 Cleanliness: 5 / 5 Ambiance: 5 / 5 Professionalism: 5 / 5 Personalised Attention: 5/ 5 Safety: 5 / 5 Responsiveness: 5 / 5 Value for Money: 5/ 5 *24/ 7 hot water supply' *Luggage weighing scale on every floor "Goes Above And Beyond The Call Of Duty" This is the best way to describe the hotel owner, Mr. Prakash Lama. He interacts with all guests and makes sure everything is fine and helps us with everything. He truly wants his guests to have the best stay and time in Nepal. The way he treats us makes us feel very warm and secure. He and his entire team are very professional; they're always calm and treat us with utmost respect. Moreover, they all speak fluent English. They are quick to respond and readily available to tend to our needs. For example, This hotel offers complimentary pickup from the airport. Just before boarding my flight to Kathmandu from Delhi, i contacted the hotel via WhatsApp. I gave them my flight details. Within few minutes I got back a reply from them confirming the pickup, and also the phone number of the driver. Due to extremely bad weather my flight's landing got delayed. The driver had already left. But as soon as I contacted the driver he came back and picked us up. Most hotels offer complimentary pickup but we must let them know the flight details at least 48 hours before. Whereas I contacted Jampa just two hours before and they still obliged! The hotel is located in a commercial area; It's surrounded by shops. This was perfect for us because every evening we strolled through the streets doing shopping, window shopping, exploring other restaurants etc. It was super fun. The rooms are spacious and maintained spotlessly clean. All toiletries are adequately provided. The food is delicious and is the most reasonably priced compared to other hotels. In case your booking doesn't include complimentary breakfast, just go with their buffet breakfast option. This is the best option you'll find in the area. Mr. Prakash also has a travel company so in case you need help with tours and sight seeing, he'll manage everything. He booked our flight and bus tickets to other places within Nepal. He also makes the best sight seeing suggestions depending on whom we are travelling with and our preferences. In short, this is the BEST hotel to stay in Kathmandu. Just book and enjoy your travel!…
I have known this hotel for over 20 years when it was a Back Packer place of little comfort and finess. The upgrade which happened in 2018 has revolutionised the whole the whole place. It always was a welcoming set up but now the whole staff greet you with lovely smiles and "Namaste" The rooms are very comfortable with integral showers. Everything is clean and shining. Position wise it could not better you can easily walk toThe Durbar Squaare and other place of interest, The Garden of Dreams or the ex Royal Palace. The kitchen provide good and variable food which you may have in your room, at the dining room or in the secluded garden. Management are on the ball and seek to help in every way possible. I highly recommend a stay having been here for several weeks.
A very genuine and special thanks to all the staff from Hotel Jampa, and especially to the owner Mr. Prakash. Never have I experienced such personalized and warm service. No wonder hotel Jampa has grown from a backpacker's hostel 10 years ago to the well known landmark hotel it is in Kathmandu today. Wishing all the best to Prakash and his team for further progress. The food, too is good. However, if you crave for an authentic warm Pizza or Burger, "Himalayan take away" right next to Hotel Jampa is a great option 💖
Good. Friendly staff, quiet and a nice place generally, also a good location We stayed here before setting off trekking and it measured up to our expectations. We noticed a few hotels nearby in Kathmandu have questionable reviewers on here giving 5 stars (many with accounts set up that month with just 1 review... h bxxxxa maybe). Hotel jampuir is genuine.
My wife and I stayed here twice. Before trekking; they messaged and arranged a free collection from the airport. This really took the stress out of getting from the hotel to thamel out of the situation. Location is ideal. In Thamel but took away so it feels a bit more peaceful. The room was clean and had everything you would expect. The reception staff were all excellent. Very helpful with every need we had. The breakfast was not bad, a rather eclectic mix of things! Think spaghetti and boiled veg for breakfast. But cereal, toast and fresh cooked eggs are part of that too. All in all, I would highly recommend Jampa. It’s the best of 4 places we have stayed around Kathmandu.
I visited Nepal for work and stayed at this hotel for about a week. The staff were all polite, friendly and helpful. The facilities were perfect and the shower, toilet and bed were comfortable. It's a little back alley so I was able to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and rest in my room. It was important that the hotel was quiet as the city of Kathmandu was noisy. The food in the restaurant was delicious and I was able to enjoy many traditional dishes.
