I stayed there as part of the Kenya Delegation to the Africa Youth Chess Championship. The hotel was a great place to stay and ver friendly for the children. Petronilla Mbulo, at the Front Office was a very helpful person, who went above and beyond to make sure people were comfortable.

I enjoyed my stay while working on a project at exotic hotel. The staff is friendly and very helpful and professional. The room i stayed in was equally nice and cozy. I enjoyed the food though i would not mind if there was more variety on the menu. The gym is well equipped and trainer is great, help out alot. The pool looks nice though its kinda cold this time of the year probably will try it out in October when i get the chance to come back. The bar is well stock with a wide range of beverages and i loved the evening performance that occurred during my stay. The down side was slow Internet speeds.

We have booked in Mika Hotel (same owner) but we finally stayed here. When we arrived, they announced us (we have booked and confirmed via HOTELS.COM) that they have no rooms available to Mika and they will transfer us to their other hotel, Chamba Valley. It is fine as these things happen, but Chamba Valley's room was not as good as Mika's.

Chamba Valley is ok for Lusaka's standards. It is clean in general and it offers breakfast. The problem is that it is really far from everywhere and really isolated. Go there only if you have a car or if you are ready to pay for taxi to city center or elsewhere.

To be honest, the staff, after their mistake and our discomfort (transfer from one hotel to the other late night), offered us for free a ride to airport for free. Kind and professional move.

Lovely hotel, very nice friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Hotel close to airport yet hidden and out the way of the bustling Lusaka. Clean rooms great food choices. Recommend staying here when in Lusaka. Hope to visit again very soon.
Thanks

Originally booked the Mika Convention Center Meanwood only to find its about 20 min outside of town. They transferred me here, which was maybe 15 minutes outside of town (down a long TERRIBLY BUMPY road). I've never found a hotel room more disgusting. Everything was dirty, even the top of the walls where no one could reach. The bathroom made me want to never go again. There was a hole (!?) In the dirty bath tub. The shower tiles were very poorly placed and were dirty of course, the water nozzles in the shower stuck out from the wall in a very bad way and appeared to just be glued/caulked so that they wouldn't hang down. There either were not bath towels offered or the single towel that was offered - I would've rather just air dried than used it, it was so discolored from dirt/age/use. At the end of our brief 15 minute stay in the room before I checked myself out due to disgust, we found what appeared to be someone else's belongings in the closet, appearing we'd been given an occupied room. I wouldn't stay there if you paid me. Go to the Protea Lusaka Tower instead. The only bright spot was that the staff were courteous and nice about me wanting to check out so quickly and gave me a refund.

I spent one night with my wife at the hotel and it was horrible, it took 30 minutes for the staff to attend to us. The bed was uncomfortable, it was hard and painful ( I think they forgot to put the mattress). The shower was too short for me and the water was leaking in all directions, the aircon was not working properly and the food was not nice. .

If you want comfort, look for other hotels, dont stay here, there are several other confortable hotels in Lusaka

Chamba valley "exotic hotel"...is just a 20 min drive from Lusaka (1 hour in morning traffic) not too far from Ngombe compound (ghetto).
I stayed here for two nights in a chalet in the far corner of the hotel. The hotel itself is quiet and peaceful throughout the day and the hotel grounds are clean and scenic.
The rooms are relatively clean and well maintained with A/C and a flatscreen TV etc.

Zambia is currently undergoing loadshedding (rolling blackouts) and on my 2nd night
at around 1am in the morning the power went off. The hotel does have a generator but that was not turned on for some reason...at around 2am my room was getting hot and i woke up. It was pitch black outside, so i woke up and went to the bathroom. I then heard a scraping/scratching type noise coming from the sliding glass door (i assumed it was a cricket or cat on the porch) so i walked over to the door...it was only then that i saw a person and realised that this fool was trying to enter my room!!
Without hesitation i picked up the closest thing to me (which was a plate full of complimentary teabags and sugar) and launched it at the window whilst expletives at the top of my voice! Obviously the chap ran away into the darkness.
I tried calling reception but my room phone was not working and i'm pretty sure the nearby guard post was unattended or the guard was asleep!
My only guess is that whoever it was knew what he was doing and jumped the electric fence when the power went off, that said...i didn't sleep for the remainder of the night.
I checked out in the morning and mentioned it...one of the staff members told me that the room next to mine was broken into a few months earlier.

The first impression of Chamba Valley Exotic Hotel is good. The parking is easy, the reception is efficient and friendly, and the swimming pool looks very inviting (even in winter). They have a golf-cart to get you to the room, and the first impression of the room was also good. The room was huge, but some effort has gone into the decorating, and it didn't seem empty at all. Unfortunately the bathroom was a big let down. Also huge, and some of the sanitaryware has been recently renovated, but the shower had no shower head, and the bath is an old, cast-iron unit that stays cold even full of hot water. Mind you, hot water is a bit of an overstatement, and so is full. In truth the water from the hot tap isn't really that hot, and the water heater is small, so there isn't all that much of it either. But be that as it may, within 20 minutes of arriving I have +2 for the reception, +1 for the room, and -5 for the bathroom. The real purpose of the visit was the conference facilities, though, and those are adequate. Meals were also adequate, but nothing to write home about. Being a business guest, wifi was important, and it was great in the conference room itself, but unusable in the room. So all told, probably neutral or slightly below average for the overall package. I won't put this hotel at the top of my list for a breakaway session or workshop, but I definitely won't cross it off the list of options.
