The ambience is good. We visited the restaurant and the casino. I went with my friends and we enjoyed a lot. It was worth the visit. The staff was very supportive and friendly. Food was delicious. It was a memorable evening.

I was part of a large group of 40 (4 tables) for Chinese New Year and we had a selection of dishes dumplings, beef, pork, chicken, and vegetable (pak choi with mushrooms). All were tasty. However the service was confused with some sweets coming before some mains and the last dish to be served was fried rice!!!
Nevertheless an enjoyable evening and the staff were friendly and tried their best but were in need of some training. This Chinese restaurant was nicely furnished and large but could benefit from some screening off of tables to provide more ambiance

The Hotel is generally a nice hotel. The staff especially house keeping have a good sense of humor and are friendly. I however found one of the Chinese managers a bit rude. The food became boring by day three and they had the same food for buffet all the time.

Well, looks great in the foyer and that is all there is to it. Price may be inviting but service leaves a lot to be desired.
Bedding is clean but beds are hard, I guess they are not for those of us who appreciate a nice soft, comfy bed.
Towels are discoloured and tattered, carpets in rooms and corridors are dirty and there is a lot of smoking in the non-smoking rooms. The fourth floor where I stayed has a carpet in the corridor that they tried to scrub and only made it smell so badly because it could not dry.The breakfast was always insufficient, the omelette lady was angry like she was forced to work. Workers dish food before guests are done eating causing food shortages. TV has no international news channels unless you appreciate everything chinese - food included. Workers so casual, like they are doing you a favour, one day we had no tissue in the toilet despite calling housekeeping 3 times. Wifi ever down...Housekeeping knocks on your door at 7:00am to clean :-( Sunday, some Christian church meets in the opposite building making unbearable noise (loud singing and shouting) from 7 in the morning...The bath takes ages to drain. The list goes on...in short find elsewhere to stay if you want good service and good internet, and if you appreciate a written document of restaurant times and room service...

Mediocre hotel, lack of maintenance! Our dining experience was terrible, rats running around the dining room, the Manager didn't even bother to apologise when we complained!!! Zambian staff were nice.

We were put in wing B. The rooms & corridors have wall to wall carpets that smell of dust. The rooms are big but the dusty smelly carpet made my a stay very uncomfortable. The "western" food was flat. I did not know chicken can have no taste. The rooms have no mosquito nets and there are a few mosquitoes.

Like your previous reviewer, we stayed at the Peacock aroiund mid-July. During an expensive and mediocre dinner, I looked up to see a rat running across the dining room floor, Then another and another. My partner then spotted at least two more making a total FIVE RATS!!!

We too asked to discuss this with the Manager but nobody was forthcoming. In any other country this place would be shut down immediately - so I can only guess that the Chinese Owners have being bribing the Health Inspector.

The staff at the Hotel are friendly and responsive. I also liked my room which was spacious and comfortable. The temperature in Lusaka was quite low at the time of my visit but the air conditioner worked just fine when I turned it up to about 27 degree Celsius. The Wifi was fast enough and the food was good but a little bit too salty for me but this was not limited to only this Restaurant in Zambia.

At an acceptable price you have a perfect room, a chinese restaurant, a western one, swimmingpool, massage salon and a decent gym. The staff is qualified and friendly. Good room-service and transport from/to airport.
