Excellent place to be with family and friends. The staff are very friendly and always willing to offer assistance. Mika offers a variety of dishes on its menu and the gym is upto standards to help keep fitness when intending to stay longer.

Booked originally by phone to the central booking number. call was handled well and email confirmation from both the central booking and the hotel itself were received promptly. Check in was easy, staff were friendly and helpful. The allocated room No 104 was clean and well presented. We discovered the in room kettle was not working when we tried to make tea, the one bedside light was not working and had no bulb.
A call to reception had engineering to the room in minutes, The kettle was replaced immediately with a working unit. The bedside light turned out to be more than the missing bulb, and so the light remained non functioning for the duration of our stay.
Room service was efficient and helpful. The restaurant menu was a bit of an issue however. Firstly the menus were not on display in the restaurant, and when requested had to be sourced from the kitchen. There were many nice looking meals depicted in the menu but when requested, items such as the Tee Bone, Lamb Stew, and Thai prawns, we were advised all were no stock, We could have fish or chicken. We settled for chicken. The breakfast buffet was quite adequate and had a good selection.

The hotel is in a quiet area, its about 15 minutes drive from the city center, there is a mall and commercial area about 5 minutes drive, the hotel serves a basic but good enough breakfast, the rooms are spacious, clean with daily housekeeping, there is a safe, cable tv, mini fridge, in room water and coffee is replenished daily and good supply of hot water and toiletries, there is a small pool and gym, generally i would recommend this hotel

Definitely got a bit grubbier since my last visit. The room was moderately clean (previous guest had left some potato peelings or something which were gently decomposing in the bin, also some women's underwear was left in the cupboard), and the bedside light did not work. The pool area was s still horribly noisy, problem if you have a room backing on to it, and the music was ridiculously loud. If you need to work, have just got off a long haul flight, or both, you will want a room well away from this area. Service in the restaurant was very slow. Yes I know this is Africa, but actually the lobby and dining / conference areas are modern and well presented, so you can't help feeling this could be a decent hotel if they made a little more effort. Allegedly sent an airport shuttle to pick me up, but it was nowhere to be seen.

Hotel is not bad, has a gym (I did not use, this is Africa and you can go running!). Nice pool to sit by in the evening though the bar can get a bit rowdy at weekends and when the football is on. Rooms were clean and well kept though please note room 14 now has a squashed spider on the wall which did not get cleaned off before the end of my stay

I was booked into this Hotel as I had to conduct training for4 days and this was the venue that the client chose. The photos on the website looked very nice but the reality cannot be further from the truth. The Hotel is run down and obviously not maintained. The Hotel shuttle came to fetch me from the airport and when I got to the Hotel they said I didn't have a reservation! So how did they know that they had to fetch me? It took about 30 minutes to get that sorted out. The room was another shock. Some pillows didn't have pillow covers and it took a day to sort that out! Coffee, tea and sugar but no kettle! By the second day they realised the phone did not work and expected me to move to another room. Why should I have to pack and move if they can simply fix the phone? The conferencing service was equally bad. Not enough snacks or bottled water at breaks and service was not on time. Delegates were happy with the lunch provided. The staff are very friendly and helpful but obviously lack training. Management are not interested and only make excuses.

I have stayed at the Mika Hotel several times, as it's my company's preferred hotel for travelers from out of town. This means that I am well-qualified to report on this hotel. I'll start with the positives: the free breakfast is quite complete (though basic), the outside pool area is nice for sitting and relaxing, and the staff are friendly.

Unfortunately, the negatives outweigh the positives. First off, the hotel shuttle often forgets to pick up guests at the airport. Then, upon arrival, the internet rarely works well for more than a couple days at a time, the bedside lamps almost never work, air conditioning units are unreliable, and the quality of the shower/tub and water pressure varies greatly from room to room and stay to stay. Despite having lovely staff who I believe are doing their best, the Mika's second-rate facilities never fail to disappoint. For the price of this hotel, I would hope for a better experience.
