I stayed at the Grand Palace for two weeks, and prefer it to the hotel setup. The room was adequate and comfortable (although I would advise specifying if you want a hard or soft bed). It is within walking distance of Arcade shopping centre and East Park Mall. The food is decent. For the first time of any of my business trips I didn't feel it necessary to eat dinners outside of the hotel because there is a wide variety of food (large and small meals) on the menu. The breakfast buffet is not big, but they have the main options. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. My recommendation is, if you prefer a place that is easy-going, not as expensive as most hotels, and has the basics, this would be your place

I found the hotel to be quite practical and central especially if you are in Lusaka for meetings. I appreciated the free shuttle pickup and drop off arranged by the hotel (upon request). The 2 negative points are: 1) that I have is that the wifi is not so stable. I've stayed at the hotel on 2 different occasions and both times i struggled with connectivity on my laptop once i'm in the room and the IT guy is not always available or responsive. 2) If your room is on ground floor then you are more than likely going to have to deal with housekeeping staff that shout at the top of their voices in the morning...not ok when you have a late wake up...

Arrived at around 3.00am and was charged. Next morning I was charged again. Explanation was that its industry practice, I saw it as lack of customer care. The breakfast was not upto expectations though the food was tasty.

Stayed in hotel for approx 15 days.

Very happy with the standard of service from all staff and management.

Very friendly, welcoming, attentive staff. Hotel is clean, secure parking and staffed 24/7.

Excellent food, plus on-site pizza restaurant and pool bar.

Value for money is excellent, would advise booking directly with the hotel and avoid all the online booking platforms. Better deals to be had booking directly.

Distance from airport is only 20 minutes and hotel operates a shuttle bus if needed.

Shopping and businesses close by and within walking distance if needed. Taxi service is cheap and fairly quick to respond if needed.

When we decide to return will definitely make arrangements with this hotel again. We found it better value to stay here than rent a self catering apartment as the hotel is safer, on main route, staffed, available 24/7, cleaning and laundry service is available. Plus food and beverages were great value.

Owner of hotel and management always visible on site which demonstrated reassuring commitment to guests.

Really enjoyed the experience!!!

The hotel is really expensive and is not worth the price you pay. Stayed at this hotel earlier this week whilst on business and it was really below expectations. The beds are hard, furniture is cheap. I would not recommend this hotel and trully believe its worth half the price. I would not stay at this hotel when visiting Lusaka again.

I stayed at this hotel for about a week when I was visiting Lusaka on business and had my wallet and phone stolen while staying there. The attitudes of the security guards and staff were just terrible as they were very arrogant. I would not advise anyone to stay at this hotel as there is no value for money and security whatsoever.

I stayed there 3 nights last week on business during my first visit to Zambia

I chose the hotel as it had a pool but when I got there the pool was shut due to building work next to it - this was a big disappointment to me

However the rooms and AC are great - breakfast is good and staff very friendly - it's alo literally 5 minutes walk to Arcades shopping centre where there are nice bars and eateries

For $125 a night I would recommend it

Some colleagues stayed elsewhere and had no facilities at all near them

Room Tip: I asked for a 'quiet room' and got one next to the building site where they are extending!

I normally don't have a say in where I stay so the company usually books me into the Grand Palace when I have to go to Lusaka for work. First impression is the place looks good. Whatever you do, DON'T eat there, you'll regret it! Make sure you ask for a "soft" bed you arrive or you'll end up in a very hard bed that feels like you're sleeping on the floor. They don't change the sheets daily like their supposed to and I'm sure they recycle the complimentary shaving blade. I forgot to bring mine with and used theirs for my legs, ended up with a rash on my legs. They say they want a review, but don't actually act on it. I honestly wouldn't recommend staying here unless it's the last place available.
